The López family and the Sánchez family have been enemies for several generations and all because of a misunderstanding and the families' obsession with power. Cecilia López and Santiago Sánchez don't know anything else. They were told from an early age that they had to hate each other, but what happens when they meet each other more and more often through events? Does hate perhaps turn into love? And will this misunderstanding be cleared up and perhaps peace will emerge between the two mafia families or will everything just escalate and the hostility grows? What is life like at the world's largest boarding school for criminals? Is it okay when most of the mafia families are enemies? All of this in The boarding school that changed my life.
****
"Cecilia, come here and say goodbye to us properly," came my mamá Catalina. When I was about to leave our villa with my two older brothers Federico and Emilio because we had to go back to boarding school. This was a boarding school for students like me or my brothers, namely for criminals.
For the state it looked like a completely normal one, but only authorized people can enter it. The children of mafias from all over the world go there, but not just mafia children, but also children of gang members or petty criminals such as drug dealers, arms dealers or dealers. But it was in Spain, or rather in Madrid. I also lived with my family in Madrid, but at the other end from where the boarding school was. My family owned the López Mafia, it was one of the largest mafias in the world and the largest in Spain, along with the Sánchez Mafia. My brothers and I were not allowed to give our last names at the boarding school because many families were enemies with each other and otherwise there would be a war in the boarding school and this would be inappropriate for the secrecy of the boarding school. However, we were allowed to give our first names because the children's first names were mostly still unknown in the criminal world. Since we have only acted in secret so far and our parents had tried to keep us out of this world that we would get into soon enough.
Actually, it was like a normal boarding school, only with the difference that we had more physical education classes, where we were taught hand-to-hand combat and various martial arts. We also had lessons on how to use weapons and throw knives. We were also taught the theory of how to behave when visiting mafia families or higher-ranking people.
The new school year started tomorrow. I am currently in my penultimate year of school. My brothers shared a level above me as they were identical twins. But I didn't think this was a bad thing because they were quite controlling, especially Federico, which was quite annoying in the long run. But I still loved her.
Federico and Emilio had my father's black hair and my mamá's brown eyes, which looked like doe eyes. They had striking facial features, were both around 1.95 m tall and quite muscular. It was difficult to tell them apart because there were hardly any differences.
I, on the other hand, had my mother's blonde hair and my father's ice-cold blue eyes. I also had a sporty, taller figure and striking facial features. Nobody in our family was really short, but that was quite fitting, otherwise we would be unsuitable for the mafia in many ways. Because we often had to go over higher things where the height was an advantage.
My thoughts are interrupted by someone nudging me. When I turned to the person, I looked directly into my brother Emilio's brown eyes. "Cecilia, people are talking to you," I looked at him questioningly before he pointed his finger in the direction of my padre. "Princessa, you're on my mind again," he said to me. “Of course, as always, you know me. But what were you talking about?" I asked.
"We just wanted to ask you if you have everything so you can get going. Also, the three of you should come back home at the weekend because we have a visit from another mafia. "With which we will ally ourselves for a while to overthrow the Russo Mafia, but you will get more detailed information at the weekend," my padre explained. What kind of mafia does he mean? Who should we ally with? Only a few mafias brought us anything and We were enemies with them. Nevertheless, I didn't ask because he would be annoyed and only answered briefly with a "Yes, I have everything." After a quick hug we went out the door, but heard a “have fun” from our mamá.
We stopped outside our cars. "Do you know what kind of mafia Padre wants to ally himself with?" I asked my brothers. But they just shrugged their shoulders before Fede spoke up. "I have no idea, but I would like to know who he meant by that ."
Federico will later take over the mafia as he was the oldest and was born before Emilio. But I would become his right-hand man because Emilio didn't want such a high position.
"Do we want to have a race to the boarding school?" Emilio asked us. Since Federico and I loved racing, we agreed and got into our cars. I got into my matt black Bugatti, Federico into his black Lykan and Emilio into his black Ferrari . I wasn't actually allowed to drive a car because I wasn't 18 yet, but with a fake driver's license and ID card it was okay.
In front of the gate we all accelerated and drove off. At the start, Federico and Emilio were still ahead of me, but I didn't accelerate completely yet. Because we were still on busy roads. When we got to the highway, which was usually not too busy, I accelerated and passed Emilio on the left. Federico was only a few meters ahead of me. I pretended to go to the right because Fede kept going to the right in hopes of slowing me down. But he had thought wrong, the left was clear and I accelerated fully and drove past him. It was still a few minutes drive to the boarding school.
I was overtaken a few more times during this time, but was again in the lead just before the parking lot. Since we had our reserved parking spaces, I drifted into my parking space and stopped there. A few people standing outside looked but didn't seem too interested. After all, they also had rich parents, maybe they weren't as rich as mine, but none of the people who went to this boarding school were poor.
As I got out, I was suddenly knocked over by someone giving me a big hug. When I looked closely, I saw my best friend Lucia there. She beamed happily at me with her green eyes while her long brown hair tickled my skin. Lucia has been my best friend all my life and our parents also got along very well, as her parents were my parents' advisors. Luckily she went to the same level as me.
We both hugged each other before my brothers and friends came up to us. "Have you taken something or are you drunk or why are you rolling around on the floor like piglets?" Emilio laughed at us. Before I could answer him, Lucia had already interrupted me. "No, we don't have anything "We're not drunk and we're not rolling around on the floor like piglets, we just missed each other incredibly," she said.
After a quick hug we disappeared into our rooms. There were two floors with just bedrooms, the top floor was the girls' track and the bottom was the boys' track. I shared a room with Lucia and Candelaria. As well as Rafael, Felipe and my brothers shared one.
When I entered the room, I was greeted by the familiar smell of rose petals, as Candelaria was a huge fan of roses and rose scents. This also matched her black, straight hair and green eyes. The room was more like a small suite as it contained three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and an extra room that we used as a dressing room. We went into the living room for a while and talked about our vacation.
In the living room there was a large television, directly across from the large black sofa, and a small black coffee table, directly in front of the sofa. To the left of the sofa there was another larger potted plant and behind the sofa on the wall were a few pictures of the three of us together. We tried not to keep the facility too cold.
After talking for a while, we went to the bathroom to get ready for bed before heading to our bedrooms.
My room had a large black box spring bed with black sheets on it that sat in the middle of the room. Next to the bed there was a small black bedside cabinet. The walls were painted white, like the entire suite. There were a few pictures of friends and family on the walls and a few fake potted plants on the windowsill, as real ones wouldn't survive in my home. The room also contained a white desk and a white dressing table on the walls opposite the bed.
I was so tired that I fell asleep as soon as I laid down in bed. Let's start the next school year, hopefully it will be as quiet as the last one. Even though I doubted this because I had a strange feeling about it.
