I woke up to the shrill sound of my alarm clock. Not much really happened yesterday, after class Lucia, Candelaria, Liliana and I had a little girls' evening with Netflix, popcorn and cola, but that was it.
After I had done my morning routine and put on black high waist hot pants and a black crop top, I grabbed my bag and went into the living room. Candelaria was already standing there and I joined her so that we waited together for Lucia. "Buenos días," I said, which Candelaria replied. A short time later, Lucia also came. We also greeted her very briefly and then went into the cafeteria.
The others weren't there yet, so we quickly got something to eat and drink and then sat down in our usual spot. I had gotten some cereal and an orange juice because it wasn't much since I couldn't really eat anything in the morning.
As we were just starting to eat, the boys came to us. They also got something to eat and drink and then sat down. "Buenos días princesa," Emilio said to me, whereupon I gave him a kiss on the cheek and also wished him good morning.
We were all eating our food in peace when suddenly the doors to the cafeteria flew open. Santiago, Liliana and their friends stepped through the door. That he had to put on such a show wherever he went. Couldn't you walk through a door normally? I looked annoyed and saw that they were looking at us. Liliana just came running towards us. "Buenos días," she greeted us. We also wished her a good morning and I then looked at Santiago, who was walking towards a table with his friends. He was hot, I couldn't deny that and actually completely my type , but that doesn't change his character. Because it was his character that mattered and that's what he lacked. No matter what I was thinking about, it was definitely due to being overtired, which could only lead to stupid thoughts.
After dinner we said goodbye to each other as we were going to different stages. We were just on the way to Spanish class with our teacher, Mrs. González. Once we were in the classroom, we sat in our seats as usual and listened to the lesson.
After class we went back to the playground where we met the others again. I was about to sit next to Federico when he pulled me between his legs. So I leaned against his stomach while he stroked my hair. We all chatted for a while and then sat in silence until Candelaria broke the silence. “By the way, we should tell you that today we are going to the paintball hall for our joint firearms training for the rest of the school day. A message has already been written to you."
Afterwards there was silence again until we all got up and ran into the paintball hall that belonged to the school. Since I didn't feel like running, I jumped on Rafael's back as he had to carry me. "Hey, you walrus, get off me," he laughed. "No, I don't feel like running, you'd better carry me," I replied. He didn't say anything more about it and continued to carry me because arguing didn't help me anyway.
When we were in front of the hall, many people were already standing there, including Santiago, who was staring at me. Rafael put me down and pretended he had a bad back pain while he walked like a grandma. "Stop it, you're just pretending," I said, laughing. "No, you're just too heavy," he joked. “Oh,” I looked at him in mock shock, whereupon we burst out laughing.
We only waited a moment for the teacher and when he was there we went into the hall. He explained everything to us, after which we went to the changing room. There we put on our clothes, which were black suits that covered the entire body so that only the head was free. We were given an extra helmet for our heads, which was similar to a motorcycle helmet. We put boots on our feet so that our normal shoes didn't get any splashes of paint. This protective clothing was important because it blocked the paint cartridge shots so it wouldn't be too painful.
We were allowed to choose our own teams, which always consisted of two people, which is why I went into a team with Lucia, Federico and Emilio, Candelaria and Liliana and Felipe and Rafael.
We all spread out and hid in the hall. Lucia and I hid behind a rock that was at the very end of the hall. When the starting signal went off, you could already hear the first shots being fired. But for now we stayed under cover and just looked around, after all it was unnecessary to just shoot at people for no reason if they were just making themselves known. Suddenly I saw someone sneaking up on Lucia, so I quickly shot him with the paint cartridge gun. If you got shot once, you were automatically out. Since several people were coming in our direction and we couldn't shoot very well from our hiding place because it was in a blind spot, we had to go somewhere else.
"I'm running over, give me cover. When I'm over there and give you a signal, you run over and I'll cover you. Got it?" I asked her. "Yeah, got it, let's start on three," she said. Three, two, one and go. I quickly ran while Lucia covered me. I quickly hid behind a wide tree while I looked around. When everything was clear, I signaled Lucia to come over. She ran to me while I covered her this time. When she was with me, we crept further and further, tree by tree. Every now and then we shot some as they got in our way. Nobody had really discovered us yet, except for those who had already left. There are fewer and fewer people in the hall. We had been there for an hour or even more now.
I saw a figure behind me and I immediately shot him. But unfortunately I was too slow and he had already shot Lucia. Now they were both out and I was the only one left in my team. The announcement again came from the loudspeakers about who was still inside. "There are still Emilio, Federico, Santiago, Rafael, Felipe and Cecilia in there."
So just a few of my friends and Santiago. I saw Felipe behind a tree, who wasn't hiding very well. I quickly shot him down, and he then looked in my direction in shock. After a quick wink on my part, I moved on. A bullet flew towards me, which I skillfully dodged. I looked in that direction and could see Emilio, who I quickly shot down.
The moment I continued running, I saw Santiago who was shooting Rafael. But I couldn't shoot at him at the moment because he was too far away. But I could see Federico going in that direction and wanting to shoot Santiago. But I didn't let it come to that, I wanted Santiago to be eliminated. He looked my way and I formed a quick sorry with my lips. “There are only two left in the game, Santiago and Cecilia. Who will win?" came the voice from the loudspeakers. I ran towards a half-open cardboard house, which was in a blind spot and was close to Santiago, from which I could shoot.
Once inside the cardboard house, I point my gun in the direction where I last saw him. But suddenly a voice sounded behind me, causing me to turn around in shock and immediately point my gun in that direction. Santiago was standing there leaning against the wall with the gun, but he kept it on the floor. "You're good," came his voice. "Gracias, you too," I replied and looked around the room nervously. Because the situation was strange because he was able to shoot me as soon as I ran in. "Why didn't you shoot?" I wanted to know. He pushed himself off the wall and came running towards me. "I can still do that, but why should I, you don't shoot either," he whispered my ear, which gave me goosebumps. "Who says I don't shoot?" I whispered back hotter, whereupon he started laughing. His laugh sounds so raw and beautiful. Wait, what was I thinking, pull yourself together Cecilia, you don't even know who he is really is.
I quickly took a few steps back. "You wouldn't, otherwise you would have fired long ago," he said confidently. "Are you sure about that," I said and pointed the gun at him again, since I had put it down for a moment. "Shoot mi amor or don't you dare," he whispered while also pointing the gun at me. "Don't call me that," I hissed. He started laughing again. That laugh was killing me, what was wrong with me? We looked into each other's eyes, I lost myself in his black eyes again, but before I could completely give up control of myself, I shot. The paint cartridges land directly on his heart. "Won mi amor," I breathed arrogantly. I winked at him, threw my hair over my shoulders and ran away with my head held high.
