Chapter 12
Adonis' POV
As soon as those words left my mouth, Bella sat frozen for a minute, she wasn't saying anything but the next thing she did was get up from her seat and walk out of the restaurant, leaving me shocked and confused.
"What happened, Adonis?" Marco walked over.
"Confession went wrong" I replied, trying to cover up the hurt I felt with pride.
"Then, go after her until she understands, Adonis" He persuaded me and I only shook my head.
"It's not necessary anymore. She left because she doesn't want to have anything to do with a monster like me"
"No man. She left because she was probably overwhelmed with the revelation. Imagine being a regular person and Bella walked us to you and told you she's like us, how would you feel? Put yourself in her shoes, idiot"
"It's not what you think, Marco"
"Of course, it is what I think. Go!" He commanded.
"She understood the first time but I don't quite understand why she wouldn't understand now even though she was the one who asked for me to erase her memory from that night"
"We're on the same page Adonis, go after your woman or else you'll regret it" He sat opposite me at the same spot Bella had sat on.
"I won’t?" I replied stubbornly
"Stop being so stubborn and childish Adonis"
"I'm not being stubborn, Marco. I'm just trying to see the truth for myself" a
"The truth is that you're this close to spending eternity with your Emerthus, something that some of us aren't blessed with and you're stubbornly trying to lose your chance at love, Amigos. You need to not let go. You claim to love this woman, right?"
"She walked out, Marco. She walked out"
"You're hopeless. You're not listening to anything I'm saying right now. All you can feel is how you've been hurt"
I knew all that Marco was saying is right and I can't deny the fucking attraction that keeps pulling me to go after her but I wouldn't risk that.
Maybe this is all my fault. If I hadn’t agreed to her request that night, things would have been different by now.
"I need your help with something," I asked.
"Which is?" He asked with a raised eyebrow
"Don't worry, this isn't about Bella. This is about something else right now"
"What could be more important than going after your own woman?"
"Blood and fire"
Marco shifted in his seat, suddenly getting curious about it.
"What do you mean? Did you meet him?"
"Not really. But I saw something that belongs to him with someone I know"
"What?"
"His necklace"
"Where did you see it?"
"With a girl but it was only in a picture. I didn't get to see it physically and I'm not sure if she still has the necklace" I informed him.
"The last time I made contact with him was years ago and I don't think I know his location anymore. After his wife died centuries back, he has been hopeless. A hopeless, ruthless, mafia lord and everything evil have been attached to his name. He's managed to keep his distance from the rest of us,” he explained.
"That necklace is what makes him who he is. Without that necklace in his territory, he's nothing more than a regular vampire and that makes the rest of us vampires without their king"
"In turn making us prey to vampire hunters and other creatures," Marco concluded.
"We need to find him"
"After we confirm that this girl has this necklace, then we find him. I'll talk to someone and see if we can get any information about him. Who's the girl again?" Marco asked.
"Bella's roommate"
"I see. Go get your girl first and we'll discuss this tomorrow morning first thing. I'll stop by your place and I think it'll be wise if we get Andro involved. That guy has eyes everywhere"
I smiled before I replied, "He sure does"
"Don't stay around here, Adonis. Go!" He barked. I ignored him and took out my phone to check her picture.
I knew where she would have gone but I knew when to give her space. Tonight, I'll give her a chance to think things through and come to a final decision, tomorrow is all about making her mine, whether she likes it or not.
After a few seconds, I stood up abruptly
"Is anything the matter?" Marco asked
"I'm going after her"
Damn my previous decision of staying put till tomorrow.

Bella's POV
When I walked into my apartment later that night, Eva was pacing around the house worriedly.
"Where have you been? You scared me, Bella. You just disappeared from the haunted house just like that. Do you even know how scared I am? Do you? I'm this close to calling the police and informing them that my friend got missing"
Eva was screaming at the top of her lungs and I wasn't particularly listening to everything that she was saying.
"Calm down Eva. I'm fine. I promise. There's nothing wrong. I just ran out of there when that scary thing appeared and I've been wandering around town the whole time"
I lied.
"A call should have surfaced, Bella. You didn't return any of my calls"
"I didn't take my phone when we left home. It should be in my room. I didn't mean to scare you, Eva. I'm sorry"
I apologized. I knew my actions were selfish and annoying.
Eva collapsed onto the couch and heaved a deep sigh of relief.
"You can't even imagine all that has been going through my head since you disappeared. A whole lot of crazy imaginations" Eva laughed. "But I'm glad you're fine, Bella"
"Me too" I sat across her as my brain tried processing all that had happened tonight.
Did I hear what I think I did?
"Unbelievable" I hissed as he said the words out loud unknowingly.
"What?" Eva asked.
"Nothing, just something I saw on my way back" I lied again.
"Okay, so I talked to this hot guy today……." I zoned her out immediately and she started talking about the guy she met.
I was thinking about Adonis and everything he had said all over again. I need to do something about this situation. I can't be involved with a vampire and think things will go smoothly from now.
I mean I had sex with a vampire who successfully bit me and feeds on my blood as well.
I might be bonded to him in ways that I can't even understand.
Maybe I should run away from town.
No, wait!
It shouldn't be up to that, right?
"Bella," Eva called out, gaining my attention.
"What?"
"I said goodnight and you weren't responding. Are you sure everything is okay with you? You look pale"
"I’m good, Eva. There's nothing to worry about. Goodnight"
I smiled at her and she reluctantly smiled back at me. I ignored her look and walked into my room.
"Tomorrow should sort it all out" I assure myself before going to bed. I ended up confusing myself that all will be fine by morning and I'll go back to my life as if nothing happened and sadly that worked.
During the night, half-asleep, I felt a cold breeze coming in from my window. I felt too sleepy to stand up and close it, so I drew my blanket closer to my body and slept off.
I felt a hand around my body, pulling me closer to something hard. I cuddled into whatever it was because it felt good.
"Sleep tight Mi Amor. I'm yours as you're mine for eternity"
