Chapter 16

Bella's POV

"Hey," I smiled widely as I spotted Adonis outside the shop already waiting for me. He was leaning against a Ferrari. Also, he was wearing sunglasses and was also putting on his dark ensemble outfit.

Damn! He looked so good.

"Hey," he moved closer and kissed my cheek.

"Shall we?" I asked.

He suddenly walked towards the car and opened the door of the Passenger's seat.

"Is that your car?" I asked.

"Yes,"

"I didn't know you own a car"

"That's because I don't usually drive it. Come on woman, get in" I laughed before I entered the car and he closed the door for me.

"Do you want to stop to get anything on the way?" He asked.

"Not really. I got everything I needed"

Last night after Adonis left my place, he called and after we talked for a long time, we decided I'll be spending the night at his place. Phone calls and breaks in-between work would never be enough for him to answer the thousands of questions that I have.

"Food?"

"Pizza. You can order when we get to your place" he nodded.

"How's Eva?"

"Are you interested in my friend?" I asked him.

"Why do you say that?"

"I don't know. The way you were interrogating her yesterday was suspicious and now you're asking about her today"

"Something is going on but I can't tell you about it yet"

"Is she in danger?"

I was worried about Eva. After Adonis' numerous questions yesterday, Eva didn't leave the room for hours. When she later came out, she acted strange, saying something about a missing piece of a puzzle.

"No, she's not in danger,"

"Okay,"

He held my left hand tightly as he used his other hand to drive.

Minutes later, we got to his mansion. It was far from the city's center and almost at the outskirts of town.

"This is your house," I said, as we walked into his house together. He was holding my hand tightly.

"Doesn't it look familiar to you?" He asked

"I've been here before. '' I asked and he nodded. I almost dropped dead in embarrassment.

I quickly lowered my head to avoid looking him in the eye. I used that opportunity to look around the house and realized that it was clean.

He could possibly pass for a clean freak.

"Look at me Bella" he called out, gaining my attention.

"Yes," I looked at him for a second before turning my head away.

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about, Bella"

I nodded before removing my hand from his and walking towards the couch.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked as soon as I sat down. He took his seat right next to me.

"Go ahead"

"I want to know everything and I'll be glad if you told me"

He stroked my hair before he started telling me what happened.

"After I took you away from those men at the club you work at, I brought you home because you said something about hating hospitals. So I treated you, cleaned you up and you woke up" He suddenly stopped.

"I think I remember that much," I said, trying to push him to say something.

"Then I think you'll remember what happened after that"

I blushed at the recollection.

"We had sex, right?"

He shook his head, "No, I fed from you first. I don't know if it was as a result of the drugs I'd given you to ease the pain or something but you didn't run when I told you what I was and how I wanted to feed from you"

"Was I wide-awake or was I speaking gibberish while I was awake?"

"No, you were saying nice and regular words"

That means I was totally in my senses when he told me.

"So, you fed from me after you got my permission"

"Not fed per se. I only marked you by linking our souls together. It was to protect you and to recognize you by anything anywhere you are"

I was speechless after that for some minutes and everything turned weird after that.

"After that?"

"Yeah, we had sex which I don't regret because you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. You woke up minutes later and wouldn't stop crying about it"

Regret!

"I'm so embarrassed right now"

He pulled me closer to his body and made me sit on his lap, he turned me so I was facing him. My hands around his neck and my legs wrapped around his waist.

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. It was normal. You cried because you regretted it and I was happy you didn't cry because you didn't like it enough to regret it" We both laughed.

"Then, you asked if I could erase your memory. I told you it's something I haven't done in decades but you insisted. I knew the effect would wear off soon and you'll begin having snippets of what had happened. So, I agreed and made you feel better before taking you back home"

He placed my forehead on his.

"I'm sorry" I whispered.

"It's okay, Bella. As long as you're here, everything is okay" He whispered back.

His eyes met mine and for a moment, he kept on staring at my eyes and my lips as if asking for permission to kiss me. The feeling is way too overwhelming for me and I still can't believe someone like Adonis can be gentle when it comes to me. With the way Ethan's face was bashed in, I'd expect Adonis to act like a caveman.

Knowing I might regret it later, I licked my lips and gently placed it on his. I kissed his lower lips first before taking control of his mouth.

I don't know where the confidence was coming from but all I knew was I wanted to be in control. Adonis pushed me back into the couch as I held on to the button of his shirt and before he could press me further into the couch with his weight, I tore off the shirt as the buttons dropped to the floor.

"Calm down Bella" He warned. His voice was different from usual.

He then went on to kiss me slowly and as gently as possible. I removed my lips from him before slamming them back to his lips and kissing him rightly while pulling at his hair.

Adonis picked me up from the couch as I held on to him before he backed me against the wall.

He showed me his fangs and said, "I want to taste you"

"Will it hurt?" I asked.

"A little"

"Won't I turn into a vampire if you keep biting me?" I asked a different question.

"No. That could only be done when you're near death, `` he explained. "I don't want you to ever be in that situation ever. Promise me you'll always stay safe"

I nodded.

"I promise"

He bent his mouth to meet my neck. He first licked and kissed the spot he was going to bite before he bit into my flesh as I hissed in pain.

Upon removing his fangs from my flesh, I felt a deep and strange attraction to him. It was as if I could see his soul.

I felt sad, cold, and alone all of a sudden.

"Don't fret, mi amor. It's just me and you baby. All you're seeing is my emotions"

"Okay," A lone tear dropped down my face.

"Bella," he called out, kissing my tears away before he kissed me back.

He carried me back to the couch and made me sit on his lap. Clothes after cloth, we got naked finally and minutes after minutes, Adonis worshipped my body. He made me feel special at every moment.

"Do you want me to stop?" He asked at some point, taking care of my body

"No," I moaned.

Finally, he permitted me to take charge as I wanted. His hands roamed my body as I rode us to the highest point. It was the best feeling I'd had in a long time and I didn't want it to stop.

During the night, he took me again, making me sore right between my legs and thoroughly satisfied before he stopped.

The next time I opened my eyes, it was morning and Adonis was absent from the bedroom. Before I could panic, I heard the shower running. I moved closer and realized he was the one in there taking a shower.

So, I quickly hit a pen and a piece of paper to leave a note for him. I knew he wouldn't let me go if I wanted.

We talked during the night about the man that came to meet me at the restaurant. Adonis refused to tell me anything about him even though u tried persuading him to talk. All he said was that the man was dangerous and it was even more dangerous for me to walk alone.

I quickly finished the note and put on my dresses before leaving the apartment, trying to avoid Adonis.

I had to get a change of clothes and get to work as well. I can't afford to lose this job. Also, Eva would've gone crazy out of her head about my absence.

"Miss Bella, it's so nice to see you again" A voice called from right behind me, and when I turned it was Matthew.

"Mr. Matthew, it's so nice to see you as well" I replied as I increased my pace.

"I need to talk to you about something really important"

He was helping up with the pace at which I was walking.

"I'm in a hurry to get back to work. I'm afraid I can't stay back to chit chat with you" I yelled back.

"You think?"

As those words left his mouth, I saw two men walking towards me in the narrow path and when I turned, Mr. Matthew was not alone either.

"I believe you have an idea about who we want"

"I don't think I understand what you're saying" I lied.

"Adonis Gonzalez. We just want to leave him a message through you"

One of them suddenly pulled me by the hair and hit my face against the small fence.

I staggered and dropped to the floor. My vision was fuzzy as the only thing I could hear was their laughter and the only thing I felt was blood running down my face as darkness overshadowed me, pulling me into a deep sleep.
