Chapter 35. Mum, Lucy I'm back...

Gladimir coughed interrupting Aria as she narrated her, past.

“Will you put the gun down and rest!” he worried… “Don't act like your care because we both know it's a lie. The only thing you care about e is yourself.

Gladmir bent his head, in dismay “I am so sorry, I came back to make everything right, but I came to correct my wrong, I came to give you the family and life you always wished for" Gladmir said. “And how do you want to achieve that?" Aria asked sarcastically.

"I will do that by loving you and being a good husband and most importantly a good father to our daughter," he said and Aria laughed. “What's funny?" he asked looking confused. “You have been repeating that nonsense. What makes you think she is your daughter?" Aria asked.

"Tell me the truth Aria, swear on your Father’s grave, that she isn't mine!” he said, as he moved closer to her. Aria’s face tensed up immediately, “Don't you ever dare mention my father again, though he abandoned us, he was better than you" she scowled. “You know that's not what I meant. And does that mean I'm her father?" he asked confidently.

“I never said, you are her father, I said my father was better than you that's all" Aria said, as she sighed. “Aria, I know I had wronged you a lot, I opened you to a life you never asked for, yeah I was a monster, but here I am trying to make things better. Just give me one last chance” he insisted as went on his knees

“What you are asking for is impossible. You walked away by your own will for years and now you just want me to open my arms and accept you in my life, never" Aria said.

"Give me just one chance to prove to you that I'm a changed man” he stood up and held her hands. “Don't touch me" she screamed while pushing his hands away from her hand.

"Gladimir, I came here to end everything, and not to receive some bullshit talk. Stay away from me and my family if not you will receive a bullet. And trust me you won't see it come" Aria, pointed the gun at him. “You don't have to go this far,” he said. “I've given you so much of my time. I'm done!” Then she walked away, moved out of the Maison and went straight into her car.

She was devastated to see him. She stayed in her car for a few minutes crying. Crying because the monster was back and because she found out that she still had feelings for him that was why she couldn't shoot no matter how much she wanted to deal with him.

She was in love with someone who made her life miserable. Deep within her, she hoped that he had changed to a better version as he claimed. She had always wanted him to change and accept his responsibility.

However, she feared that his sudden appearance might be a trap. A trap to deceive her to have her daughter. She just couldn't trust anyone, no more since all the people around her betrayed her. She dried her eyes with her handkerchief and drove home.

Gladimir stayed behind as we wipe off the few drips of tears that she escaped from his eyes. He just couldn't phantom what the heck was happening to him. The more he was trying to fight that wanting to be with her, the more he saw himself exhibiting that. He had this special feeling any time he was around Aria. He had never felt this way for any woman before so all that was new to him.

“I mess up my life, my family. What's actually happening to me, why can't I do things the right way?” he cursed himself screaming to the air, at the top of his voice as tears flooded down his eyes. He was heartbroken. Yet he managed to recompose himself as he walked out to his car with only one thing in mind “Fight to have his family back”

Aria drove back to her mom’s house where she dropped her daughter, Lucy, before going on the Gladimir hunt down at Herpen-abort; the mansion. It was afternoon when she dropped Lucy but now the outside was dark and cold, meaning she spent hours there but to her, it seemed like days as all those heavy memories popped back into her head.

She turned off the ignition of her car as she parked in the parking lot at mum’s house. She stayed in the car envisioning what life had in store for her since Gladimir was back. She wished he never came back and she wished she ended his life back there, a few minutes ago but she lacked the guts.

Whenever it came to Xavier Ford aka Gladimir, she always lacked the power to do anything. He made her weak and vulnerable. Even after living with Gladimir for many years, if there was something she never learnt or imbibe was a ruthless heart. Despite everything Gladimir did to her, she still couldn't kill him cold-heartedly.

She laid her head on the steering, in frustration as tears rolled down her eyes. She remains like that for a while then she raised her head and started punching the steering until her fingers started hurting her before she stopped. But the tears couldn't stop pouring out of her eyes.

Nonetheless, she had to wipe the tears away before coming out of the car. There was no way her daughter had to see her like that. “I didn't do it but if you force my hand Gladmir, I will do it for my happiness and that of my daughter. I won't hesitate the next time” she said to herself before stepping out of her car.

She stood by the door and took a deep breath before knocking on the door of her mom’s apartment. She had a huge smile on her face for her daughter. But as she placed her hand on the door, the door wildly opened. That was strange, her mum never leaves the door open. She was on the verge of panicking but told herself “Aria keep calm and look around!” as she got inside.

She expected to see her daughter watching television with her granny but the living room was empty like a desert. Neither her daughter nor mom was in the living room. Her heart started pounding faster. She hurriedly searched their rooms.

She went to her mom's room, but her mom wasn't in. “Mum, Lucy!” She started screaming in frustration as she proceeded to her daughter’s room, but she wasn't there either. “Stop playing, Mum where are you? Arai, my baby mum is back!” She dipped her hand into her pocket, to get her phone. She quickly dialled her mom's number, with shivering hands but to her greatest surprise, the phone was ringing in the house precisely in her mum’s room.

At this point, she was frightened, and then she remembered that she saw the door of the house open when she walked in. That was strange as well as her mom never leaving her phone at home when going out. She walked back to the living room and found a plate still full of food accompanied by a mug.

It was very strange, such things never happen in her mom’s house. Her mom was against the wastage of food, and she never tolerated it. Then it dawned on her that only one thing could have happened only if her mum and the daughter were “KIDNAPPED” she painfully screamed with her eyes crammed with tears.

“They have been KIDNAPPED! That's the only thing that can explain all this. Someone surely rushed them out of the house precisely the moment I went after him... I knew all this was a trap and I fell for it like a fool. He planned all this to take my daughter away from me” she cursed herself

“What the fuck is wrong with you Gladimir, give me some peace for ones. Omg, I can't leave without my daughter!” tears helplessly rushed down.
