Chapter 17 - A Vague Memory
CELESTINA VILLARAMA’s POV
I was left wondering how I would be able to call Siege out in the woods when I can’t even figure out how I would be able to get out of this place, without getting the attention of Lucas who was still caught up in the momentum of seeking Kristoffer’s death bed. Ice wasn’t moving away from his spot, he’s most probably being hindered by Lucas himself to intervene.
“Call Siege while you still can, Celeste… You’re the last hope…” Kristoffer’s breathing was slower than the normal rate, which only shows how weakened he has become.
I gazed above the skies and stared at the moon. I can’t properly explain how it was possible, but believe it or not, the moon itself turned back to how it was earlier — a crimson one. I gulped as I recalled the image of Siege inside my head. The alpha was still inside the same place, however, Kristoffer was no longer there. He was holding onto a small picture of a girl which was framed. It wasn’t literally a picture, it’s more of a sketch that was done by a professional.
‘Time will soon reveal all of the sins that your mate has committed to you,’ said the wolf that was living inside my body.
“Alpha Siege,” I mentioned his name in between my gasps. I made sure that I wouldn’t be heard by the other alpha, or else, we would definitely be in greater trouble. “Alpha Siege, please, if you can hear me…” I tried and tried all over again, but it was kind of meaningless.
My voice just wouldn’t reach the alpha no matter how hard I called out for him.
“It’s useless, Master Kristoffer. Your brother can’t seem to hear me,” I informed the beta. He might be able to do something at the very least.
Kristoffer opened his mouth as he laid his head flat on the ground. He glanced at the same moon as he slightly raised his hand as if he was capable of reaching it within our distance. “I can’t as well. Bro must be in trouble inside the castle,” he muttered to himself. His voice was full of worries.
Ah, right. Kristoffer mentioned a while ago about the full moon that affects Siege’s strength and everything else.
“He’s doing fine, I’m certain of it. It’s just that we can’t reach him right now,” I said as an assurance, but, it would be difficult for me to defend myself if ever he asks how I was sure of it.
“We can head inside the castle, can’t we?” Ice popped out a question out of nowhere. I didn’t even realize that he was already beside me.
Kristoffer slowly nodded his head once. “It might be risky for the both of you to go there now. The security is tight, and Celeste’s under my divine punishment.”
I bit my lower lip as I was running out of plans.
“Celestina, didn’t you say that someone inside was searching and calling for you?” Ice turned his head to look at me, and just like Kristoffer, I just gave him a nod of my head as a response. “Then, there could be a chance that that specific person is waiting for you inside. You might have the key to saving this dude,” he explained.
“Your manners really depend on who you speak to, huh,” I commented with a slight grin.
“Go,” Kristoffer uttered, then forced himself to stand on his own. “I’ll try to stall Lucas here as much as I can. Just tell Siege that I’m in a pinch.”
It makes me guilty how Kristoffer used to worry about my safety, and the possibility that I might have been taken by the Silver Moon Pack. And now, he’s about to fight with Alpha Lucas all by himself… without knowing that I was the one who voluntarily joined them.
I should have just listened to him before and just laze around the Dark Valley.
“Lead me the way, Celestina. I’ll be guarding you from time to time, so don’t worry,” Ice said.
I gave one last look to Kristoffer and had second thoughts whether it would really be fine to just leave him behind, but since Ice kept on persisting me to go, I had no other choice but to move away. The only thing that I can rely on now is to have faith in Kristoffer’s strength. He has been battling his brother for years, I’m sure that he wouldn’t get beaten up by Lucas that easily.

I had so many doubts regarding this plan, especially that Siege wasn’t that fond of me until now. Although, even if that was the case, recalling the sketch that he had in his room and was looking at earlier, I can’t help but to feel that I have a connection with that girl. He wouldn’t be keeping an old picture if it doesn’t serve any importance to him.
She didn’t even have any resemblance with my appearance, so I guess it wasn’t me.
“Weird,” Ice said as he slowed down. “The castle is wide open as if it’s already anticipating our arrival.”
I took a peek at the entrance, and he wasn’t joking around. Before I left this place, it wasn’t the type that welcomes just anyone.
I gestured to Ice to follow me.
Every step from the mountain and over to the stairs of the castle was making me wary. Upon entering the palace, I saw a glimpse of a boy who wasn’t facing our direction. His figure was familiar, so I’m guessing that it’s Ace.
“Ace?” I called him and I wasn’t mistaken when he turned around to face the two of us.
Though, it doesn’t look like he was expecting that I would be having someone else as my companion. “Ice… It’s been quite a while. Have you finally decided that you want to come back here?” he asked his twin brother.
“I have no business here, Ace. Are you the one who called for Celestina?”
“You still haven’t changed. You’re still the rude brat who betrayed the pack after all. I can’t even believe how you’re trying to help Miss Celestina Villarama,” Ace mumbled as he momentarily glanced at me. “And no. I have no means of communicating with her. It must be the alpha who called for her here.”
Siege was the one who kept on bothering my mind?
