Chapter 16 - Longing You
CELESTINA VILLARAMA’s POV
Amongst the distant space, I knew that there was someone else who came that had superiority against the other creatures out there. And from the speaker, I was able to recognize that it was no other than the alpha of the Silver Moon Pack itself, Lucas. “Y-you’re actually here, Lucas…” Ice mumbled to himself while holding onto me. His hands were still shaking and I couldn’t even help him calm down.
There was something about this alpha that would make anyone go on their knees, except for me who doesn’t give a damn.
“Kristoffer, it’s been a while,” Lucas greeted the beta of the opposing pack, completely ignoring the presence of Ice who was still beside me. He even placed one of his arms in front of his chest to slightly bow his head to show a little bit of formality. “I would like to sincerely apologize to you if ever Celestina Villarama right here has done anything inappropriate to you or anyone amongst your members,” he said in a straightforward way.
I raised a brow in confusion with his words. I thought that he would always be agitated whenever I was around, especially after what I said to him back in his office and the way that I approached him.
“You… What did you do to Celeste?” Kristoffer questioned him, then walked in front of Lucas. “Don’t tell me that you’re interested in her?”
“Celeste? What a weird nickname.” Lucas bursted out laughing with what he said. “But… Are you for real?” He covered his mouth until he was done with his loud chuckles. “What do my feelings have to do with you anyway?”
It doesn’t seem like he has an idea about my wolf just yet.
“Your feelings would be the sole reason why there would be an initiation of war between our packs in the near future, Lucas. It would be best to stop now, for the sake of saving the lives of our members,” Kristoffer responded with his lip twitching upwards in every word that he said.
The tension between the two built up, Ice and I didn’t know how we would interfere to convince them not to argue. We only managed to give glances to one another without uttering a single word.
Lucas clicked his tongue, then grabbed Kristoffer by his collar. “You’re getting ahead of yourself just because you’re the brother of the strongest wolf alive, huh?”
“A-alpha Lucas, don’t —”
“Don’t interrupt me, Celestina Villarama.” Lucas’ aura got dimmer every second and my voice only made it worse. I hoped that I would at least soften up the situation. “What sort of business did you even have with them? Weren’t you already warned not to get back to their turf? Were you trying to kill yourself in the spot, knowing that they would not welcome you any longer and would rather choose to take your life away?” he consecutively asked me while he used every ounce of his strength to lift Kristoffer above the ground.
“You’ve misunderstood, Lucas,” said by the delta. “Celestina didn’t come here out of her own will. She was called by one of the members inside,” he added to testify for my stead. Ice was trying to defend me, realizing that the current level of Lucas’ anger was beyond what we would be able to take control of.
“So you believed that, Ice? Didn’t you even consider the possibility that she simply wanted to have an excuse to get back to the Crimson Moon Pack?” Lucas wasn’t buying any of his delta’s words. He was fixated on his own thoughts and he doesn’t even care about anything else.
I should have known how self-centered he could get.
“I swear, someone was seriously calling for me. I wouldn’t have decided to go here with Ice if I wanted to return on my own,” I butted in to prevent Ice from answering Lucas. “It’s not my problem anymore if you would choose to neglect what I’ll say.”
Kristoffer was running out of breath. His face was turning pale and his cheeks were starting to bubble up as he tried to store a little bit of air inside his mouth to survive. I excessively sighed as I courageously stepped ahead to hold Lucas’ wrist and pulled it away until his grasp was no longer on Kristoffer’s collar.
“T-thanks…”
As I was supposed to give him a nod of my head, I was shocked to see how Lucas hastily kicked Kristoffer’s stomach which made my eyes widened. “H-hey!” I rushed over to where Kristoffer landed and held his shoulder. “Are you okay?”
Blood spurted out from his mouth at the same time that he coughed. “F*ck.” It was the only thing that he managed to say. Kristoffer was barely breathing, his eyes were close to being shut as well.
“You should know your place, Kristoffer. You might have forgotten that I’m currently the alpha of the Silver Moon. Your strength wouldn’t even be compatible with mine, you’re a weakling who’s dependent on your brother. You wouldn’t even be able to defend yourself against someone like me,” Lucas said from afar. Judging from the tone of his voice, I knew that he was serious, he probably wouldn’t think twice to kill the beta now if he’s actually given the chance to.
I noticed that Lucas kept on comparing Kristoffer’s strength with everyone else. He’s assuming that he’s tougher against all of the wolves here other than Siege.
What would Siege do in this situation?
“Call out for help, Celeste. Cry your heart out and call him…” Kristoffer mumbled as he was suffering with the wound that he received from Lucas.
“What do you mean?” I was confused and since I couldn’t even hear him clearly, I had to move my head closer to his mouth.
“If it’s you, I wouldn’t have doubts that Siege would actually come rushing over to where we are right now… He’s the only one who can stop Lucas,” Kristoffer told me with a tender voice.
His aura was definitely telling me that he’s putting all the responsibility in my hands now, and that the fate of the three of us would depend on me…
And it was the biggest challenge of my life yet.
