Chapter 15 - The Alpha of Crimson Moon Pack
CELESTINA VILLARAMA’s POV
We may have looked like a coward, but I didn’t think twice not to pull Ice back from Kristoffer’s reach. I knew that Kristoffer was dangerous, knowing that he’s a few steps below before he reaches his brother’s rank. “Exactly what’s the relationship between you and Master Kristoffer, Ice?! He knew who you were and it wouldn’t make any sense if you say that this was the first time that you met him,” I said.
If I would have to use force just to make him spill out the truth between them, then I have no other choice.
“It’s a long story, Celestina. A few minutes wouldn’t be enough for me to tell you everything, but let me at least say this to you…” Ice bit his lower lip and fixed his eye contact with mine. “It would be best for you not to stick around with him. You have no idea what he’s capable of. Once he sets his mind onto something, he would actually be able to create a whole catastrophe that no one would be able to survive,” he added.
“Are you done chit chatting?” Kristoffer interrupted without moving an inch away from where he was. “Celeste, you should’ve known your place. Are you still being hysterical and do you still believe that you’re actually the mate of my brother? Should I teach you a lesson?” he muttered. From the way that he said those, his anger was evident in his tone.
“L-l-let me explain, Master Kristoffer…” I almost got choked by my own saliva as I kept on stuttering the words that I say. “I-I didn’t eavesdrop on purpose or something like that… I didn’t do it on my own will. It just happened the instant that I gazed upon the crimson moon earlier. Trust me, please!” I sounded desperate while I rubbed both of my palms together in front of him as if I was begging him to have faith in me.
I couldn’t read what was written within his eyes. It could have been the only possible way left for me to figure out what he was thinking of since he literally removed our mind link. While I was attempting to read his thoughts, I noticed a slight change with the color of his eyes which turned into cyan. It was only a matter of time before it totally turned into a darker version.
And as I remember, his eye color only changes whenever he’s not in the mood for anything trivial.
“There’s no reason for me to believe a rogue.”
If I can describe Kristoffer in one word right now, it would be no other than ‘cold’ which matches with his eyes and emotions. From the last time that I was inside the pack house, he acted like he would never dare to raise his voice at me since he kept on scolding Siege back then for being rude to me. I believed that between the alpha and the beta, Kristoffer would have been more understanding.
I wonder if what I saw on Siege’s vision actually created a negative effect on Kristoffer’s personality, or is he being controlled by his brother?
“Excuse me, Master Kristoffer?” Ice stepped forth, hiding me from behind. “Can you at least take it easy when you’re talking to Celestina? She wasn’t even sure if she’d be able to get back to where she used to belong, but she insisted on heading over to your pack house, knowing that you’re around,” he said.
My heart skipped a beat when I heard Ice’s statement which was exactly what I had in mind as of this moment. It’s like we’re somehow connected without having our minds linked. I was about to pinch his forearm since that wasn’t even part of the plan, but I would rather stay hidden and protect my own safety first.
Kristoffer didn’t even budge after Ice spoke, like Ice didn’t have any authority to speak and was unworthy of being listened to.
“Ice, it’s okay,” I assured him when I finally got the courage to face the beta. “Master Kristoffer, answer me honestly. Did Master Siege and I already meet each other in the past?”
He sighed before turning away. “I have no right to answer that question, Celeste. You have to figure things out on your own. But now is not the perfect timing, I suppose,” he sincerely answered. “And just for your information: the kid beside you used to be ours. He’s a traitor of our pack. If you don’t want to be betrayed, you should reconsider the thought of staying with him.”
My eyebrows furrowed as I recalled his similarity with the kid from the Crimson Moon Pack. I took a short glance at Ice before I ran beside Kristoffer. “Speaking of which, is he related to that loyal servant of yours?”
Kristoffer gave me a nod, then leaned closer to me so that Ice would not be able to hear what he’ll say. “The one you’re with right now is Ice, while my underling is Ace. They’re identical twins by birth, but up until this point, I still can’t comprehend how they have opposite personalities. One was willing to take all the risk just to save the pack, while the other one kept on deceiving the rest of the members and adding them up to his plot of beginning an ultimate destruction,” he whispered before moving away from me. “One was a success, and the other ended up as a failure. It would surely create a negative toll on that certain someone, and I’m certain that he’s still planning an act of vengeance,” he continued.
The revelation of Ice’s past was way too quick. “Are you sure that you’re not just trying to make a bad guy out of him?”
Before Kristoffer could’ve gave me an answer, Ice pulled me away after a second. “We’re in danger, Celestina,” he hurriedly said with a furious expression evident on the way he spoke. “Seems like Lucas was notified of my absence in our turf and the fact that I’m together with you,” he continued, which made me confuse what the reason was behind his panic.
“Lucas? So you’ve become one with the Silver Moon, Celeste, huh?” Kristoffer butted in with a smug look. “You dared to seduce my brother and now that you’ve failed, you’re aiming for the opposing pack’s alpha? Just what’s driving you to get this self-centered? No one’s going to fall for your traps at this point.”
“And what if that wasn’t the case?”
