Chapter 22 - The Fountain of Life
CELESTINA VILLARAMA’s POV
Despite the warm temperature all throughout the office, I couldn’t refrain myself from getting the chills down my spine as Lucas turned into a ferocious beast, which I never hoped to see, not even once. I unconsciously held onto my necklace as I continuously called for Sarina to come and save me, if ever that the worst case scenario occurs. “Exactly what are you planning to achieve in this realm, Alpha Lucas?” I asked that almost out of a whisper. I was trying my best not to trigger his anger much more than what I have already done.
“Total destruction,” Lucas replied with little to no hesitation.
I gulped when I realized that Lucas and Ice had the same goal right from the start. I just can’t seem to understand the reason why they were so eager to destroy a world where they lived. “Once you’ve fulfilled your goal… What will become of you then? Will you kill yourself after you’ve ruined several innocent creatures’ lives?” I stepped backwards every second that passed by.
I kept on roaming my eyes around his office to check for whatever item there was, which would be handy for my defense later on.
“Sarina would be left with no choice other than removing the existence of this realm once she witnesses how it’ll suffer a huge catastrophe.”
“Do you mean…”
Lucas heaved out a loud sigh. “One of that cruel moon goddess’ rules includes how Sarina would be the last one to survive as she annihilates all of those who reside in the Realm of Xenon. She would be the one responsible for erasing us, as if we were basically dust since the beginning,” he explained.
My chest felt tight and it was getting kind of difficult for me to breathe as I heard the scheme of Lucas. “Would I be included as well? I mean, I don’t originally live he —”
“As long as you’re standing in this realm, everyone would be going through the same hell,” Lucas cut me off. “Well then, Celestina Villarama… Now that you’ve learned every single detail about my true intentions, what do you plan to do? Are you going to stop me or would you rather take my hand and team up with me as you become one with me?” he inquired with such a serious tone.
“I…”
“Lucas!” Ice appeared out of nowhere. Though, I guess he has been standing outside the door of the alpha’s office all this time. “Don’t pressure Lady Villarama. It would be up to her if she’d decide to join us, right? It wouldn’t do us any good if you would end up forcing her into being one of our accomplices… she might end up betraying us in the end just like what the others did,” he said as if to defend me from whatever was supposed to occur.
I gave him a meaningful smile, hoping that he would notice that I was appreciative of him.
Lucas slowly returned to his human form as soon as he was able to revert back to his natural composure. “Whatever,” he mumbled, then sat back on his chair. “Why are you even here? I believe I warned you not to interrupt the two of us.”
Ice simply rubbed the edge of his head with an awkward grin. “I was bored.”
The alpha shook his head in disappointment at the delta. “Bring her to that place. It would be better for her to discover a lot before the day of judgment actually arrives.”
Even though I was only standing by as I listened to their conversation, I couldn’t help not being curious about the place that Lucas was referring to.
“Are you serious, Lucas?” There was a moment of silence between the two of them, and with that quiet tension, Ice immediately knew that Lucas wasn’t kidding around. “It’s not like there’s anything I can do to stop you from what you want… Come outside once you’re done talking with Lucas, Celestina,” he said as he walked out of the office.
Lucas made me scared of what the future would turn out to be. “I can head out now, can I?” I asked politely, and he only gave me a nod of his head as a response. “Hey,” I shortly greeted Ice as he was leaning on the wall while waiting for me. “Where are we going?”
Ice gave one last look at the alpha before he closed the door completely shut. “To search for your soul in the fountain of life,” he directly answered as if I would be able to casually comprehend what he meant. “The fountain of life stores all souls that are living inside this realm. Who knows if you’d actually be able to bring out your wolf once you get near the fountain.”

A lot of questions were left unsaid as Ice led the way underground the pack house. We’re literally walking side by side, inside a place which appears to be some sort of cave or dungeon. From the very first time that I stepped foot here, I got goosebumps as my brain was aching. I held and massaged my temple when I received some flashbacks in my mind. However, those scenarios that were playing in my head were unknown to me. It’s like, I got the memories of another living creature instead of mine.
“You alright?” Ice held my shoulders, then assisted me to move near the fountain. “I forgot to tell you that all of the souls’ memories would enter your conscience. You only need to burst all of your focus into thinking about the existence of your wolf,” he explained.
“How am I supposed to do that? I can’t even imagine what my wolf is like.”
“That… could be a problem.”
Ice brought me to the bench that was only enough to occupy a single person. He held the fountain’s base right after he let me go. The water from above stopped moving. It sparkled and after a few minutes, it encircled Ice’s body. He was undeniably attractive during that time and I even felt my heart skip a beat for him.
“Watch me closely, Celestina Villarama.”
He used to look like some sort of nerd when I first saw him. He’s totally different now.
Even the aura that I sensed from him was altered. It no longer gave me a romantic feeling and the sense that I had to protect him no matter what the cost was and vice versa, since he told me before that he felt the same way.
His aura now… was flowing with the intention to…
Escape.
My mouth opened as I made a short gasp when Ice’s posture transformed to the first person that I saw before as I was on my way here to the Realm of Xenon.
