Chapter 41 - The Alpha's Desire
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
The night was quiet. No one among the three of us dared to utter a word while we were walking across the woods. My forearms still feel kind of numb after how Leo held it too firmly, as if he wanted to rip it apart from my body. All this time, I thought that they didn't want to see me again, but their actions were literally contradictory. I was in between them, and their arms kept on brushing onto my skin, which somehow felt awkward.
"Who was that man you called Leo? He looked quite agitated with the two of you earlier..." I asked to break the silence, unable to contain the curiosity lurking within my soul.
"It's better for you not to know about him. You won't encounter him ever again... I won't let him step foot in front of you anymore," Master Kristoffer answered with a serious face.
The alpha stopped walking as he inserted both of his hands into his pocket. "Kris... stop crossing the line," he coldly said to his brother with a stern gaze. "You don't have the responsibility to protect this girl who has no wolf," he added to ridicule me.
I raised my eyebrows, crossing my arms in front of my chest. "I never asked for any of your protections. And how many times do I have to tell you—"
My eyes widened the instant that I was sent flying through mid-air, making my back hit the trunk of a tree with a loud thud. I thought that it was the alpha, but it wasn't.
"What are you going to do now, Kristoffer? You just humiliated yourself," Leo said with a wide smirk planted on his lips while clapping. "You know damn well that you're not the type of person who can protect anyone as you please... Do you want me to make you remember what happened before?" Leo grabbed a huge portion of my hair, pulling it up, making me groan in pain.
"Let her go, Leonardo. Why did you even show up now after all these years that you went astray? Does Lucas have any idea that you're back here?" Master Kristoffer responded. I saw how he gave me a sign with his thumb that I should rest easy—that they were there to fight alongside me if worse came to worst.
Leo forced me to come with him, not bothering to give an answer to the beta. I couldn't resist his grip. He was stronger than Ice, but not enough to be compared with the Wongs. Glancing up at him, I caught a glimpse of a scar on the left side of his forehead that was covered by his bangs that reached his eyes.
"What do you want from me?" I asked with a pleading voice for him to pity me and set me free. "We never met before, so I don't know why you're always making me your target. I have no value in this world," I continued.
The man with a scar laughed like a psycho. "You just don't see your worth," he said.
Leo pushed me to the edge, and fortunately, I was able to keep my balance. If not, I would've fallen from the edge of the cliff... just like how I did in the real world that I was born in. My hands wouldn't stop shaking. The trauma from back then kept flashing through my mind, even though I could barely remember my life there.
"You should stop acting brave, woman. It's obvious that you're scared of me." Leo kneeled one of his knees, resting his left elbow above his left knee as he grabbed my hips. "Your sweet fragrance lured me. Isn't that your fault?"
For the first time in my life, I actually felt afraid of what was bound to occur. I don't know anything about Leo, so I can't read what's running through his mind. I can't even predict what his next move would be since he's not showing any signs from his facial expressions.
"Don't you have a mate?" I asked, guessing that he's doing this because he has no woman by his side.
Leo heaved out a loud sigh. "Curiosity will kill you later on, woman..." He tightly pressed his fingers on my hips, causing me to collapse on the ground. "Those two can't be trusted; they're the reason why I don't have my mate—I lost her because of them," he said with his heavy gasps in between, showing how much anger he had stored for them.
I refused to listen to Leo, so I kept on ignoring everything else that he said. The words that came out of his mouth just passed through my ears. He started to roam his hands over my thighs, sending vibrations to the ends of my spine. I was too fragile to try and escape him; I wasn't even held captive.
"You're making me aroused, woman..." Leo whispered to my ears as he leaned towards the side of my head. "Why aren't you running away? Perhaps you're waiting for something to happen between us?" There was a hint of excitement in his eyes.
"Get your filthy hands off of Celestina while I'm still asking nicely, Leo," demanded a man who sounded like the alpha. I couldn't see Siege anywhere, but I know that they were both nearby. "Don't wait for me to pierce my hand in the middle of your chest just to smash your heart—I can take your life in less than a split second, Leo... You know I'm different from Kris."
The wind blew in my direction, and before I could look behind me, I was taken away by a large pair of hands that held me by the waist. "A-Alpha Siege..." I murmured his name. "W-why are you—"
"Shut your mouth, Celestina." Siege's vision was fixated on Leo. "Leave my territory, Leo. If I still see you here in the count of three, I'll no longer show mercy," he warned.
After a second, Leo's presence completely vanished all throughout the woods. However, Siege's hands still remained on my waist. And when I tried to push it away, he only tightened his hold.
"Just for a while... Let me hold you just for a while, Celestina." Siege rested his forehead on my right shoulder, and I could feel his hair brushing against my neck.
I fought the urge to hold the back of his hands at the same time that I bit my lower lip. I couldn't move an inch away from my position, afraid that the alpha would let go of me.
I wish that time would freeze.
