Chapter 62 - The Announcement
CELESTINA VILLARAMA’S POV
About half an hour later, since I used up the poison that Leo gave me, I was now strolling along the hallways of the mansion. All of the people’s eyesight was fixated on me. I didn’t wonder why. Their eyes were obviously containing a mix of emotions that ranged from intense fear to hatred. They feared that I would take the life of their beloved alpha and behead him. And hatred for letting me reside within their pack, thinking that I was absolutely pure and innocent.
I couldn’t hide my laughter anymore. I stopped in the middle, directly in front of the staircase. I was still gripping on the strands of Lucas’ hair, which I utilized to hold his head. His blood was dripping from the bottom, where his neck was slashed off.
“What are you all gawking at? Is this the first time that you’ve seen someone’s head get slashed off their bodies?” I asked like a maniac on a killing spree at the same time that I glanced at each and every single one of them. “This wouldn’t be the end of this; mark my words. I won’t let this be the end of the Silver Moon Pack, and whoever did this to Lucas will definitely pay,” I said to at least let their heads cool off, saying that I wasn’t the one they should blame.
All their fingers should be pointed at their beta, not me.
I proceeded down the stairs without waiting for any of them to give me a response. Just like where I came from, their gazes still haven’t changed. I had to repeat the same statements that I made upstairs just for them to let me go.
“My, my, my. That was quick, Celestina,” Leo said as he continuously clapped his hands as he saw me holding the head of Lucas, right in front of my chest.
I don’t care about what I would look like in front of Ice. I’m sure that he has already seen the worst version of me before.
“Release Ice right now, Leo. I already took Lucas’ life, and as promised, I brought you his head as proof that he’s no longer alive in this world,” I coldly demanded the beta, even though I didn’t have the right.
Leo slightly tilted his head sideways. “Let Ice go? Why?” He scoffed as he successfully pulled Lucas’ head away from my grasp. “You should first accept me as your mate and be my Luna, Celestina. That was a part of our agreement, and unless all of it gets settled, I won’t let him go,” he said with a smug expression.
I clicked my tongue before I attempted to claim Lucas’ head back from him, but he was quick enough to avoid my hands. He was literally making a fool out of my abilities.
“Let’s just be mates and do whatever you want. I’m still not in the right mind after I killed someone I know,” I said briefly.
I decided to remain in the same spot without trying anything else. My current strength won’t surpass Leo's, and it won’t even reach half of his current power. I’m absolutely worthless when it comes to duels like this. I should’ve trained harder when I was still a child, if only I knew that I would be placed in such a dilemma.
I glanced at Ice when I felt like his vision never moved away from mine, and I noticed that he was trying to ask me if I really did kill the alpha with a simple gesture of his eyebrows and his pouty lips. Knowing that Leo and Stella were still in the same room as us and could hear and see whatever we said and did, I decided to ignore the truth and just nod my head.
“Fuck,” Ice mumbled to himself at the same time that he bowed his head, having both of his fists clenched. His knuckles were clearly visible, and he was ready to throw a punch at anyone who would dare talk to him right now. “Why did it have to come to this?” he asked himself, getting frustrated.
The beta brought Lucas’ head down the table, and it faced my sister, who was having a weirded-out expression on her face. It might’ve been scary to her. I’m sure that she was closer to Lucas than I was. And besides, she was favored by the alpha during our duel too. Stella might be one of my enemies, but deep inside, I still want to give her a long and tight embrace, just to let her know that everything will turn out alright.
“It’s not going to be as easy as you think, Celestina. Choosing a mate is easy, yes, but putting someone in the rank of a Luna isn’t as simple. We still have to conduct a Luna ceremony, and officially announce you as the Silver Moon Pack’s Luna. It will take us a couple of days to get prepared before the actual celebration,” Leo explained to remove any misunderstanding between the two of us.
“Can’t you just declare it by yourself? That you’re making me your mate and your Luna?” I asked a dumb question.
Leo shook his head as he crossed his arms below his chest. He looked down at his hands and wiped off Lucas’ blood from his palms with his shirt. “I also have to announce the passing of titles after your ceremony. It’ll be a three-in-one preparation and celebration, don’t you think so?”
I shrugged, feeling hopeless.
“I think my job here is done,” Stella said after she stood up from her seat, stealing our attention. “I brought you Celestina. I made sure that Ice would be here as your hostage. And the most important part, Alpha Lucas is gone,” she said while looking straight ahead at the beta.
“You should refrain from calling Lucas the alpha now that he’s dead. It’ll only be a matter of time before I’ll take over this pack, and once that happens, I’ll make sure that everyone will obey everything that I say,” Leo replied.
Stella covered her mouth with one of her hands as she gently tapped on her lips to act like she said something by mistake. “Sorry, i just got used to it,” she muttered as she glanced my way. “Celestina, I’ll be heading over to the Crimson Moon Pack.”
My eyebrows furrowed before one of them was raised. “Why are you telling me that? Is there a reason for you to let me know that you’re going there?” I asked.
My sister let out a soft giggle, which wasn’t that pleasing to my ears. “I just figured that you wanted to know that I’ll frequently be beside Alpha Siege no matter what day and time it is,” she replied with a slight grin.
“Do whatever you want,” I coldly said, rolling my eyes.
Even though those were the words that came out of my mouth, I was still anxious about what Stella said. Knowing Siege, I don’t think that he wouldn’t give in to a woman’s continuous seduction.
Seeing Siege and Stella together in the future would surely be the end of my life.
“Don’t worry too much. I won’t do anything to harm Alpha Siege’s reputation, or may it be in physical terms,” Stella assured me. She took some steps forward until she stopped right in front of me, standing a few inches apart from where I was. “Though I can’t guarantee that there won’t be anything that would happen between the two of us in the middle of the night, you probably have no idea how hard it is to deal with the heat coming from our wolves,” she added to further provoke me with another smirk.
