Chapter 82 - The Abduction
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
My hands were still trembling as I was already standing in the center of the stage, despite knowing that I wasn't alone since both Kris and Siege were together with me. I faked a cough to clear my throat before I held onto the microphone.
I introduced myself and told the crowd about my past. There was nothing that I could hide from them, and I had no intention to do so. I told them how I first got to know about Siege and also the fact that I wasn't really born into this realm.
However, realizing that the crowd didn't care much about my relationship with Siege, I chose to change the subject to something between me and Kris instead.
"Beta Kristoffer Wong has always been with me since the beginning, especially during the times that I was feeling lost," I mumbled, placing my clenched fist in front of my chest to make my speech a little bit emotional. "I never expected that Beta Kristoffer Wong would be as kind as an angel. I'm certain that all of you know how ruthless Alpha Siege, his brother, can be, so it really made me wonder at first how the beta was totally different from him."
The words that came out of my mouth almost made it seem like I was telling them about the fact that Siege and Kris weren't really related to one another. Recalling that it shouldn't be made public, I chose to shut my mouth.
Kris tapped my shoulder once, so when I glanced at him, he was gesturing at me to give him the microphone. "You're about to cross the line, Celeste. Let me handle this now," he muttered, stealing away the microphone from me.
I heaved out a loud sigh of frustration when I was forced to stand behind him. I caught a glimpse of Siege giving me a thumbs up to cheer me up, so I showed him a faint smile to tell him that I was fine.
The beta was the one who told the pack members and their guests about our wedding. And as much as he wanted to delay our marriage, he told them that it should be conducted right here and now.
"We have to get married today on the same day that Siege will be declaring who his Luna is going to be. There's no more next time; today is the only chance," Kris seriously announced.
I couldn't help but step in front of him with one of my eyebrows raised. "What did you say? You never asked for my opinion regarding that matter, Kris. Why are you declaring your decision as if we have the same heart and mind?" I questioned him with a little bit of irritation in my soul, and I made sure that the microphone was turned off so that our conversation wouldn't get leaked all throughout the hall.
Kris smiled at me. He let go of the mic and placed it on its stand before he put his hand above my head, ruffling my hair, but I nudged it off of me. "We have to be married right away, Celeste. If we postpone this any further, you wouldn't know what or how the Moon Goddess would react. She might kill either of us," he whispered, slightly leaning his head over to my ears.
"That's absurd, Kris!" I stomped my foot on the ground, facing the crowd. I raised both of my arms, waving my hands as if to tell them that whatever Kris announced earlier was a mistake.
Siege intervened before I could've stolen the microphone. "What are you doing, Celestina?" he asked, gripping onto my wrist with such a concerned look. "Aren't you planning to marry Kris? As far as I know, Celeste told me that you wanted to be with Kris deep down, but you're just holding yourself back."
My eyes twitched the moment that I heard his statement. "I never once thought that I wanted to be married to your brother, Siege! It was all Celeste's decision; I never had a chance to complain."
"Whatever you say, there's nothing else that you can do. Kris already made the announcement, and you can't just take it back because of your own selfish reasons," Siege mumbled, releasing me from his grip. "Stella is already waiting for her turn. Wrap this up," he said briefly.
I clicked my tongue, knowing that I had nothing else I could really do. I gave a ferocious glare to Kris, turning on the microphone. "I apologize for the inconvenience. We've come to the conclusion that we will be proceeding with the marriage tonight as soon as this event is over," I said, giving up the idea to take our announcement back.
I walked out of the stage, and I was immediately followed by Kris. Siege didn't follow us, as he still had to deal with Stella. Though I sensed that he had his eyesight on us until we were completely away from his vicinity.
"We already had a serious talk about this, Celestina Villarama. Why are you trying to back off now?" the beta asked, stopping me from my tracks as I faced him.
Judging from the way that he addressed me, I can clearly tell that he was already mad. He was annoyed enough to strangle me to death, and he was only holding himself back.
I shook my head, showing him that I was tired. "I'm not in the right condition to talk now, Kris. Let's just do the wedding and get this over with, okay?" I sighed.
Hours have passed, and the event has finally finished. We waited for everyone to leave the venue, since I only agreed to this marriage if and only if we were the only ones present in the underground basement hall.
"Do you want everyone else you know to come? I'll call them here," Kris asked me, sounding as if he wanted to let me have a great time before I officially called him my husband.
I rolled my eyes at him. "No. Having Siege and Stella in the same area as us is already sufficient," I replied.
The beta nodded his head as he ordered me to stand right in front of him. "I, Kristoffer Wong, accept and take you, Celestina Villarama, to be my rightfully wedded wife, my chosen mate, and my soon-to-be Luna of our own pack," he mumbled his pledge. Kris was holding onto both of my hands as he was deeply staring at me.
"I, Celestina Villarama, accept and take you, Kristoffer Wong..." I paused, hesitating whether I should continue claiming Kris as mine, knowing that my real fated mate was right behind us, watching us get married by ourselves.
"Get this over with, Celestina. You can't drop this marriage anymore," Stella spoke from the other side, making me squint my eyes in irritation. "You better have Kris for your entire life, so I can have Siege eternally, alright?" she muttered, which was followed by a short chuckle.
I shut my eyes, thoroughly thinking. I just hope that I won't ever regret this decision, since I can only live once.
'Someone's coming for you,' Celeste warned me, causing me to instantly open my eyes, roaming my vision around the whole hall.
"What's the matter, Celeste?" Kris asked, holding me tighter than earlier to grab my attention, but I ignored him.
"Ah!" I gasped when I was pulled from behind.
A large set of arms held me captive, as a thin fabric of a handkerchief covered about half of my face, causing me to slowly lose my consciousness. I glanced at the stage, only to realize that it wasn't Siege or Stella who grabbed me from behind.
"You dared to leave us behind just so that you can get married to Kristoffer Wong?" A familiar voice of a man asked, laughing like a maniac. "You can't be happy, Celestina. You can't just decide to leave our pack like this," he added, letting me realize who was holding me tightly.
