Chapter 92 - The Judgment Day
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
The woman that all of us didn't want to see this duel barged into the beta's room, and right when I thought that she would yell and demand that they stop, she chose to stand by with such a brazen expression on her face. "Stella," I whispered my sister's name, and she didn't even bother to glance at me—not until she was finally taken aback and her consciousness seemed to have returned to reality.
"Celestina, what's happening here?" Stella asked me, slowly approaching me as she looked twice at the Wongs siblings, who were still rumbling on one another. "Why are they fighting in their wolf forms? I know that they're supposed to have their regular training sessions, but they never shifted before because of training," she added.
The way that Stella sounded genuinely curious about the scenario she stepped into made me feel like she hated to see them in a duel too.
"If I tell you that I'm the reason why they're having a duel right now, will you believe and forgive me?" I mumbled, anticipating that she would give me consecutive slaps, but she didn't.
Stella's lips were slightly parted. "Is your curse totally lifted now?"
It was a surprise to me that she wanted to know about my curse's status instead of answering my query first. "Yeah, it seems like it. Siege also sensed our mate bond, and he has already given me his mark," I replied, pointing over to my neck where the alpha marked me.
My sister examined the mark that was on my neck, as if she still wanted to refuse to believe that I was really marked by Siege. "Then, does that mean that you would be the Crimson Moon Pack's Luna now? Do you think you can handle being one?" she questioned me.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "You're acting weird. What happened to you?" I cupped her cheeks, looking at her eyes to see whether she was sick or not. I even placed my palm on her forehead to verify her temperature. "You're not ill, though."
Stella slammed my hand away from her face, which was most likely hers. "I'm trying to act nice as your sister for once, and this is how you're going to treat me?" She rolled her eyes, frowning. "I was searching for you; I was really worried that you were harmed by Leo. Kris told me that Siege couldn't proceed with the Luna ceremony with me because he ran to save you."
"Why were you looking for me? You always hated the idea of seeing me, didn't you?" I tilted my head sideways, forgetting about the fact that the two were still fighting to death.
"I wanted to talk to you about something important," she answered.
Her cheeks flushed red, as if she were shy to bring up the fact that she wanted to have a serious conversation with me. I couldn't help but pinch her cheeks, since I found her cute.
"Can't we talk about that later? I have to stop Siege and Kris from killing each other, and if I don't, the situation might escalate into something worse," I said.
If ever one of them really ends up dying, then there's a high possibility that the wolves from both packs won't cooperate with us any longer. They will probably go astray and team up with the rogues from the Dark Valley's forest.
Stella let me do as I please. I invited her to help me out, but she didn't know what could possibly make them stop, so I ordered her not to move an inch away from her current spot unless she wanted to die.
I made sure that I would be stepping in at the right time, so I patiently observed each of their movements first.
Siege tended to attack whenever Kris was turning around, and Kris only had the chance to damage Siege whenever the alpha was striking with both of his hands. It looked like Siege had no full control over his feet, and it served as his weakness in Kris' eyes.
"It's better if you'd go there once Kris is the one to attack next. I don't think that he would have the courage to hurt you at all," Stella voiced out her opinion even though I wasn't asking for her thoughts.
Although I still gave her a nod since that was what I planned too.
The instant that Kris raised his hands, I hurriedly ran over to where Siege was in an attempt to block off his attack. The aura that emitted from Kris immediately changed to fear that he might hit me, and even his eyes turned smaller than usual, and they also reverted to black, showing that his bloodlust vanished the moment he saw me.
I stretched my arms sideways. "If you're going to kill Siege, you would have to take me down first, Kris," I muttered with a stern gaze, and even though my hands were trembling out of fear, I didn't move away.
The beta brought his hands down, shifting back to his human form. His clothes were torn apart, but they still remained intact on his wounded body. "You're willing to sacrifice your life for his sake, huh?" he muttered with a bitter tone. "I wish I'd also have someone like that in my life," he added, softly sighing at the same time that he sat on the ground.
He seemed to have given up on his life, so I tried to console him with words that didn't even pass through his mind. His blank stare through mid-air made me feel that he thinks that his life now is meaningless and serves no purpose.
Siege also shifted back, and his clothes were completely gone. I expected that his clothes would at least be untouched, since he was the alpha. "You really managed to stop him. I had doubts that Kris wouldn't try to harm you. I thought that if he hurt you, he would make me more enraged, to the point that I would never see anything else other than the idea of killing him," he said.
The alpha went beside Kris. The expressions on their faces clearly told me that they were thankful that I stepped in. They probably didn't want to lose one another.
"Stella is here, in case you haven't noticed. She had something to tell me; can I excuse myself for a while?" I asked the two, and both of them gave me a thumbs up.
"I'll help Kris with his wounds. If you see Ace along the way, tell him to come here," Siege replied, showing me and Stella a dismissive wave. He didn't even bother to greet my sister, as if they had no particular connection.
I was the one who walked out of the beta's room first and was followed by Stella. I asked if we had to go to a private spot to talk, but she said it wasn't needed. So we decided to go outside the mansion and stay in the nearby garden. Fortunately, we were able to cross paths with Ace quickly.
I asked Stella for a favor so that she could be the one to inform Ace that Siege was looking for him, since Ace and I weren't on good terms anymore after what occurred in the Silver Moon Pack last time.
"Tell me about your concern now," I uttered as soon as we arrived at the garden. There were a lot of people nearby, but they all had their own businesses, so I doubted that they'd pay attention to our conversation.
Stella looked exhausted, so I let her sit on the vacant chair while I remained standing. "I know that Siege will end up choosing you as his mate and Luna for his pack, so I would like to tell you this in advance." She glanced up at me; her eyes were filled with tears that were yet to burst.
"Is it worth crying for?" I murmured when a tear fell from her eyes.
Stella immediately wiped her left cheek at the same time that she sniffed. "Can't you let me be the Luna of this pack? I can't possibly return to the Silver Moon Pack and be stuck as an Omega there for my whole life," she said. "If you have already faced Leo, I'm sure you know how cruel he is. Can you imagine how my life has been going for the past years that we had Leo as the beta?" She further added how severe her punishments were whenever Leo was around.
I heaved out a loud sigh, followed by a faint smile. "If that's what you're worried about, then be at ease, Stella. Both Lucas and Leo are gone; they've been killed by Siege, and there's no more chance for the Silver Moon Pack to be revived as an entire pack. They will definitely be under Siege later on," I replied, placing my hand on her head as I softly ruffled it.
Her eyes widened out of surprise. "W-what? Lucas and Leo are dead?" She gasped, refusing to believe me.
"Siege's strength isn't even half of what you witnessed from his duel with Kris earlier," I said, feeling a little bit proud of my mate's power. "Once I've been declared Luna, you don't have to be afraid that you'd be a mere Omega. You can be anything you want; you have the freedom to join our pack, Stella," I added, removing my hand from her head.
Considering that this was the first time that Stella had ever shown me this side of hers, I felt somehow relieved.
I thought that she would be happy with my statement, but the way that her jaw dropped made me confused. "Who's that?" She pointed behind me, causing me to scrunch my forehead before I glanced at the other side.
All of what has recently happened has made me forget about the day of judgment. I got so confident that the Moon Goddess would no longer intervene in our lives now that everything has been going smoothly to their rightful places.
"Sarina..." I gritted my teeth as I stood in front of Stella, blocking her vision from the Moon Goddess, who had an evil smirk on her lips.
