Chapter 93 - The Eradication
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
At first glance, I didn't think that Sarina would descend at this kind of time when a lot of people were still awake. And as expected, all of those around us had their eyes focused on the Moon Goddess. They probably haven't seen them from such a close distance before, which wasn't the case for me.
I sensed Stella holding my fingertips, and even if it was just that, I could still feel how strongly she was shaking. It might have been because of the dominant presence of Sarina, or maybe she was just afraid that she might get punished for desiring to take my spot.
"I came here in case you forgot about the portal, Celestina Villarama." Sarina broke the silence between us, and my eyes widened, realizing that I only thought of the upcoming judgment day and not the next summons of the portal. "In less than a few minutes, the portal is going to show itself in the place where you saw it together with them," she added.
The Moon Goddess didn't bother to take a few steps forward for us to have a better and closer conversation; she demanded that we approach her instead, which we obediently did. Stella was clinging onto my arm, and she had no courage to face Sarina.
"I never forgot about it, Sarina. I've been waiting for it to be summoned all this time; I'm too eager to get back to my world," I lied, letting my chin up so that I wouldn't be too obvious with how I was bluffing.
Sarina gave me a playful grin. "What if I told you that I'd be destroying the portal together with the Dark Valley? You should know best what would happen if the Dark Valley stumbled upon a downfall, right?" she said to provoke me.
I couldn't help but tightly clench my fist out of frustration that I couldn't do anything about it. I don't have the power to harm the Moon Goddess, and even if I had the intention to kill her, I highly doubt that she would even allow me to lay a finger on her entire body.
"I already heard from most of them that you really had no plan to set me free from this realm, Sarina. You're hungry to witness your own people's deaths, and you can't wait to hear them scream and plead for their lives to be spared," I muttered with a cold tone.
"You know me very well now," Sarina cheekily said, pinching my nose as if we were close friends.
A minute after a deafening silence, the skies turned darker all of a sudden. There was lightning that spread all throughout the wide skies, and the roaring thunder somehow made the ground shake.
"What are you scheming now, Sarina? Aren't you satisfied yet with how two high-ranked wolves were killed in the hands of Siege? Wasn't that what you were longing for—to let only a single alpha remain alive?" I consecutively questioned the Moon Goddess, hoping that I could at least delay whatever she was planning.
"Judgment day," she answered without any hesitation. "I'd be commencing judgment day at the same time that the portal will be summoned as a whole," she added.
As soon as I heard her response, I was immediately agitated, so I could no longer prevent myself from trying to land my hardened fists on her face, which she was able to easily dodge as she flew from one place to another.
I slightly bent my body as I held on to my knees while I was catching my breath. I asked Stella to go to Siege and tell them about the situation, so they could assist me and prepare for the worst.
However, Sarina didn't let her pass. "Not so fast," she mumbled as she blocked Stella's way with an invisible barrier.
My sister tripped on her own two feet, losing her balance. "Ouch." She rubbed her head that hit the ground, which was so close to hitting a large stone. It could've been fatal to her if she had her skull broken, even if she had the ability to regenerate fast.
Seeing that Stella had no way to reach the alpha, I was forced to use our mind-link. I tried calling out to Siege, and I finally got to enter his mind. "Stella is here, Siege. She's about to destroy this realm!" I screamed in my mind, hoping that he'd hear me.
"Where are you?" Siege immediately asked.
"The garden," I answered briefly, disconnecting from our mind-link and sensing that he was on his way here, together with another one, whom I expected to be Kris.
In less than a few minutes, both the alpha and beta arrived in the garden. They were obviously astounded that Sarina was here. Siege was the only one who managed to maintain his composure, as he had already dealt with the Moon Goddess years ago.
Siege passed the barrier without any problem, as did his brother. Kris approached Stella, and he lent her his hand to assist her in standing back up on her own two feet.
"Aren't you getting tired of repeating the same thing over and over again, Sarina?" Siege asked. "I expected that you'd at least let this realm be at peace. There are no issues in this realm, and no one is complaining about how their lives have been going lately. Can't you just let us go?"
Sarina let out a loud laugh, but it still sounded soothing to our ears, as her voice was quite pleasant. "That's exactly the point why I'm here again, Siege Wong. I can't bear to see any of you enjoying their lives to the fullest. That's not the main reason why I kept bringing people from the real world here," she replied, which I couldn't comprehend.
Heavy rain poured down from the clouds, causing us to be drenched. I wanted to give the Moon Goddess a decent beating, but there was no way for me to reach her.
Siege heaved out a sigh, glancing at me. "Are you going to be alright with the rain? Won't you get sick?" he worriedly asked, placing his hands on my shoulders as he forced me to turn around to look him in the eye.
I nodded my head twice to tell him that I had no difficulties moving in the rain, and it should be Stella that he should worry about since she had a weak immune system.
Siege's eyes were telling me that he had a plan. "I told Ace to bring Ice here. If we're all gathered here and we'd strike the Moon Goddess all at once, we'd have a great advantage against her in numbers; we can defeat her and attain the peace and freedom that we're yearning for, Celestina," he told me through our mind-link, assuring me that we'd win.
"Whatever your plan is, we won't let you step on us, Sarina," I provoked the Moon Goddess, even though the twins weren't here yet. "If we decide to move to my world and live there for good, you will no longer have the power to control us, right?"
Sarina gritted her teeth, showing me that my guess was correct. "I won't let you pass the portal, Celestina. And even if all of you passed through there, there's no guarantee that you would still be kept alive. I'm certain you heard about that risk already," she said, taking back the fear that she showed for a second.
After a few minutes, both Ace and Ice arrived at the same garden. Ice didn't seem like he had any questions, and I think that Ace already informed him about everything, and vice versa. Seeing that Ace already managed to stand beside me, I don't think that he still had any reason to fight me, like he did back then.
"So your plan is to outnumber me?" Sarina asked, as if she were mocking us for thinking that we could win with something as simple as that. "Can you defeat me in less than half an hour, though?"
I smirked, feeling a little bit positive that we could take the Moon Goddess down. I have Siege, Kris, Stella, Ace, and Ice to fight alongside me.
It was as if Sarina had planned for the lightning to strike in a certain direction where there were trees sticking together, setting their leaves and branches on fire. The blazing fire immediately spread all throughout the garden, and it was the reason that forced us to get out of that place.
We began with our chasing game. All of us made our attempts to reach Sarina to strike her. All that we had to do was let her feel that we're serious about staying in this realm; in that case, she might have a change of heart and leave this place alone.
I begged Celeste to help me out, so she shifted with me without taking over my mind. The rest of us also shifted, and we kept leaping around the pack house until we exited the Crimson Moon Pack's turf and reached the Dark Valley's territory.
The way that we were all chasing the Moon Goddess made me think that she was merely luring us to a certain place. And it was too late for me to think of the possibility that she was purposely letting us chase her to that cliff.
The same cliff where the portal was about to be summoned.
"Witness how I'm going to eradicate this portal to your world, Celestina," Sarina said as she floated from the ground, stretching her arm towards the portal's surface, her fingers touching its entrance.
