Chapter 95 - The New Beginning
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
I should've believed my guts from the start. And if I did, then Ice wouldn't have had to act as a sacrifice for us to survive and win against the Moon Goddess. I never imagined that he could've been this risky, since I knew him as the type of person who values his own life more than anyone else's.
"Ice!" I yelled out his name, trying to reach out to him, but he was already too far away from me. "Damn it, Ace! Did the two of you plan this beforehand? Was this why you prevented him from telling me whatever it was?" I questioned him out of frustration, even though I already knew the answer to it.
Ace couldn't bear to look me in the eye because of the guilt that was surging in his mind. "I'm sorry. This was the only way for us to live and get through this, Celestina. I already asked him a lot of times to think this over, but Ice insisted that he should be the sacrifice if it comes down to it," he explained. He kept on playing with his fingers while his head was bowed down, which made me think that he wasn't the one who urged Ice to do it.
Ice was really willing to sacrifice himself for us.
"Let's at least support him from the sides and back lines. I can already see that we would be victorious," Siege said, holding my hand as tight as he could. "Don't worry about Ice. There's no way that he'd allow himself to die without seeing your pups," he muttered, kissing the back of my hand before he marched near Sarina.
The Moon Goddess seemed to be prepared for our attacks. Even though we were all ganging up on her, she was still able to avoid all of it flawlessly, as if she could see through the future.
"I told you, all of your strategies are futile efforts. You can't take me down unless you have full determination," Sarina said.
The Moon Goddess held my wrist, pulling me closer to her body, and our faces were an inch apart from one another. I thought that she was trying to pull a weird stunt, but she only wanted to smash her forehead on mine.
I was immediately sent back to the ground, which was what I thought. "Siege..." I muttered the alpha's name as I sensed his hand on the back of my head as he caught me before I could've touched the ground.
"Look at him." Siege pointed at Ice, who was standing on the other side of the portal.
He had his eyes set on the portal, and I guess that he just can't wait to pass through it. Although there was something in me that told me he didn't want us to get there.
"Celestina!" Kris called me, and when I faced him, I saw him throwing the golden necklace back at me. "Throw that inside the portal! It's what Ice wants and also what Sarina doesn't want," he said, gesturing to me to hurry up before the Moon Goddess got back to my side.
I instantly fixed my posture, aiming for the portal. The second that Sarina turned to face me, I already threw the necklace into the portal, and it gave off a bright light, which caused most of us to either block or shut our eyes.
"What have you done, Celestina Villarama?" Sarina raised her voice.
I noticed that her arms were starting to light up the same way that the portal did. I was utterly confused, but we took this opportunity to attack her at the same time.
Ice blocked my way as soon as he landed in front of me. He showed me his palm, telling me to back away. "Let me do this on my own. Tell them to move away too if you don't want me to get mad at you, Celestina," he said, glaring at me with those cold eyes.
Ice brought out a pair of sharp daggers from his pocket, and when he ran towards Sarina, it was the sign for me to shout and tell the rest of them not to get near the Moon Goddess.
"Let Ice kill Sarina by himself. We don't know what will happen, but this is the best we can do to assist him," I said, gritting my teeth as I felt ashamed that I had to rely on Ice.
The four of them went near me as we witnessed how Ice pierced the dagger into Sarina's heart from behind and how he swiftly moved in front of her to pierce the other one directly.
My eyes began to get blurry as tears formed inside. "Ice didn't have to be the one to die," I softly mumbled, and I felt Siege caressing my back with a gentle movement of his hand.
The Moon Goddess chuckled even though she was on the verge of death. "How did you find out my weakness, Celestina?" she asked, glancing at us. "How did you know that Ice, who has no wolf spirit, would be my one and only weakness?" she added, which somehow made me realize where Ice got his confidence.
Siege held my hand. "I told you that Ice would be alright," he said, pressing my hands repeatedly to make me feel like I would never be alone.
"Ice confessed to me that he was willing to die if it's for your sake," Ace uttered, facing me. "But I told him about the fact that Sarina can only take the lives of those who had been residing within this realm right from the start, and not those people who originally belonged somewhere else," he explained, which erased all of the confusion lurking in my mind.
Sarina was starting to fade away bit by bit. "Tell me, Celestina, where do you want to live in the next few years?" she asked. "Do you want to enter the portal and return to your usual lives, together with these people? Or would you rather stay here and start from the very beginning?"
I heaved out a deep breath. "I don't wish to return to that world, Sarina. Let me stay here and be with everyone. I desire to be Siege's fated mate until the end of time and be the Crimson Moon Pack's Luna until then," I answered without having the need to think about my answer for a long time.
Siege looked at me with such admiration in his eyes. "I thought you wanted to see and be with your parents?" he questioned, and I shook my head to tell him that I prefer being with them more than my parents.
"Very well then..." Sarina's body got covered with her blood. "Claim the necklace back and say the same thing you desire. It shall grant you one wish," she informed me before she completely disappeared from our sight.
There were no fragments of her body left, and Ice went back to our side. "That was scary; I thought I'd lose my breath there, even though I knew that I wouldn't die with her," Ice muttered, releasing continuous deep breaths.
***
About half a year passed, and everything was back to normal. The forest that was ruined by the fire that Sarina ignited was restored, and the rogues who lived there were given shelter by Siege. He asked them if they wanted to join his pack, but they preferred to stay in the woods and cooperate with the alpha whenever necessary.
As for Stella, she became closer with Kris, and they ended up choosing one another as mates. Stella gave birth to her pups that were from her pregnancy with Siege, but we didn't mind them anymore as long as they were happy with their current lives.
Both Ace and Ice stayed with us; they were both pack warriors. Most of the time, Ice would still wonder how Lucas ended up teaming up with Leo, since he knew that Lucas really despised Leo from the depths of his heart. He couldn't help but miss the alpha he once had.
"Celestina!" Siege called me. "Aren't you supposed to take a break today?" he asked. His voice was filled with concern as he embraced me from behind, caressing my tummy, which was getting huge.
"Do you think they are twins? I'd like my pups to be twins! They can be great heirs to us, and I bet that they will all look like me," I said, showing him a genuine smile.
The alpha pinched my cheeks, then kissed my forehead. "I'm sure that they will be as passionate and great as you, no matter if they aren't twins. We will take care of them until they grow old enough to lead a pack," he replied.
"I still can't believe that we've reached here, Siege. I love you."
"I love you more, Luna Celestina Villarama, my beloved," Siege softly whispered to me, making me feel hot. "Do you still remember how you plotted your vengeance against me after I rejected you?"
I scrunch my nose. "What's with that random question?" I laughed. "My vengeance is yet to begin, Alpha Siege Wong. I'll let you raise my pups on your own, so you can feel the wrath of someone you once rejected," I teased him.
This marks our new beginning, and I sincerely wish that no one would ruin our lives any longer. I can't wait to hear the cries of our newborn.
