I was still staring at him nervously and although once again I had no idea why, I kind of understood his point of view and just wanted to show him that I was still there for him after all the drama, for whatever reason I wanted to prove it.
Still looking into his eyes, I stretched out my hand in his direction, which he caught briefly but didn't return. I almost felt uncomfortable, but then he took a last step towards me and pulled me into an incredibly comforting hug, which, no matter what had happened that evening, just made me happy.
I put my head to one side on his chest, closed my eyes and sucked in his indescribably good smell. It immediately occurred to me that I had to ask him about his perfume because I wanted to spray my whole room with it. He reassured me, which worried me again because how could you find someone so amazing so quickly?
His hands rested on my back, holding me tight to his strong body while he rested his head on my shoulder and kissed my neck gently, making my heart dance with every touch.
"It's okay," I suddenly heard Zayn and, embarrassed, wanted to break away from Kiyan, but he didn't even think about letting go of me.
"Shall we go home?" He whispered softly in my ear and just his breath on my skin caused goosebumps on the back of my neck. I just nodded completely lost and then felt how he freed himself from the hug, but immediately took my hand tightly in his. A really nice gesture that just made me happier.
"We're going," Kiyan said to Zayn, who then just nodded and walked across the playground alongside us.
"Can you take me home first? I kind of lost the desire to party," he then asked, putting a cigarette in his mouth.
"Sure, where's Adam anyway?" the black-haired man on my hand asked, but Zayn just shrugged unknowingly.
"Probably still in the basement, lost as it is," Zayn laughed before lighting the fag.
When we got to the forest exactly where we came from, Kiyan suddenly pulled me further along the trees and I thought I wasn't seeing properly when at the end I saw a small paved path through the trees.
My eyes immediately fell on Zayn, who looked just as stupid as I did. I immediately thought how much trouble we would have saved ourselves and he probably thought the same because he suddenly started laughing out loud.
"Couldn't you have told me there was a way?" he asked me.
"If I had known that, I would certainly not have walked through the woods with you," I replied with a grin, but inside I was still upset by the whole situation. Micah's look and Juline's words. Both consumed me and at that moment I was already afraid that the alcohol would stop working and then everything would hit me like a slap in the face.
"What's so funny about the forest?" Kiyan asked, only looking at Zayn, who only waved his hand slightly.
"Nothing. It was just bloody dark and creepy."
"Like you're scared of something," Kiyan grinned and Zayn laughed before he even uttered his answer.
"Sure, from little nerds and bitchy dwarves."
I didn't understand what he meant at all, but I hoped he didn't mean Cody, because that would make me doubt again if he really was the nice guy he'd been showing me to be for the past few hours.
While the two of them were laughing about their insiders, we finally got to the street and when I saw Adam and Chloe at Kiyan's car, I felt weird again. I looked down at Kiyan's hand, which was still holding mine, and then breathed in and out evenly and calmly until we got to the car and stopped in front of the two.
I immediately noticed Adam's look, who then gave me a friendly smile and when I looked at Chloe, I realized that she was just staring at Kiyan. She didn't look at me, which was fine with me. Ignorant goat I just thought and then had to smile to myself.
"Should I take you with me or will you stay?" Kiyan then broke the silence, addressing Adam, who stretched and yawned loudly and long.
"It would be good to go home," he said, and then the black-haired man unlocked the car, walked with me to the passenger door and held it open for me with a smile.
"Thanks," I mumbled in embarrassment, quickly dropping into the seat to get things straight. Chloe was getting on my nerves just by being there and I had to keep Juline and Micah out of my head. It was exhausting to block it all out, but I didn't want to burst into tears here under any circumstances. Especially not now that Adam and Chloe were with us.
"Can we talk!? Now!" I heard Chloe and Kiyan then turned to me.
"I'll be right back," he said with an encouraging smile, then slammed the car door shut to take Chloe a few steps down the sidewalk.
What did she want to discuss with him?
I also didn't miss the fact that she kept stroking his arm lightly with her hand while they strolled a few cars further and unfortunately I couldn't see her anymore.
"Do you want a-"
I cried out in shock and turned wide-eyed to where Adam and Zayn were staring at me, equally shocked. From my merry-go-round in my foggy brain I had completely forgotten the two and of course I hadn't noticed that they had gotten on.
"Gosh! You're not just absolutely creepy in the woods," Zayn let out his breath, and I almost laughed at how stunned he looked with his hand on his heart.
Adam, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy the situation, apparently he wasn't that scared, which in turn could be due to the fact that he must have smoked weed. I saw his red eyes even here in the dark car.
My breathing slowly recovered from the shock and I immediately rolled over to excitedly count the seconds he was gone with her and after what felt like hours he finally came back and didn't look happy at all.
What was this bitch doing to him?! Where before his smile made me float on clouds, now he didn't make a face and got in without saying a word and then drove off with squeaking tires.
