Friendship
SARAH'S POINT OF VIEW
I was so sad when I came to know that Andrew lied to me. It was not a big thing to tell me the truth unless he did not trust me with his secrets. I was sad because I felt I was not trustworthy, it was not his mistake that he did not tell me but maybe the problem was within me. I could not gain his trust. I went towards the door and started banging the door. Just after five minutes, the door opened and to my surprise there were lots of police officers outside. They had already caught the three people. Andrew came and thanked the police officers and told them that they will talk about it later.
A car came and stopped in front and the driver opened the door. Andrew was looking at me. I just walked away, because I wanted to be alone. He grabbed my hand and said, "Please sit lovey, I will not bother you and you will not be able to get a vehicle until you walk far from here." I looked at him and freed my hand and ignored him and walked. I was already far and it started raining. I didn’t care and still walked not thinking anything because my mind was blank and I just looked at one direction. Just then a car came and stopped. Andrew came out and he forced me inside the car. I didn't struggle so much.
On the whole way, I looked out of the window and he also did not bother me. We reached our place. I didn't bother talking or thanking him and just walked towards my room. For a week, whenever I saw him I ignored him. Exactly after a week, we met in the court. He came towards me and said, "Sarah, I'm sorry. Please let me explain more. I just can't sleep until you forgive me. I don't want to lose you."
I looked at him. I asked him, "Have you lied to me about anything else except about your family?" He looked at me for a second and said, "No, I haven't." I thought he deserved a chance as he was my best friend. All this week I had thought that he was always good to me. He spent his whole day with me while he could go and enjoy his wealth. He was a good person. The only thing was that he hid to me about his family. I thought he had a reason and I missed him too.
So, I said, "Okay, I will hear you out." He said, "Let's go to the cafe and talk." We went to the cafe and he ordered two coffee and we sat. I inquired," Why didn't you tell me? Am I not trustworthy? You know that I have already had trouble trusting people, but I trusted you with all my secrets. Why didn't you trust me with your secret?"
He said, "I know you are mad at me but trust me I always wanted to tell about it. Although everyone thinks that I am the only one who will inherit the whole group, I was never interested. I am the only son but I have my elder sister and she will do all the company's work. I am just interested in law, so I will do what I want. My parents also agrees. I have been living like that because I didn't want anyone to know about it. I wanted to atleast tell you but my parents denied. They took a promise from me before I joined law. Because you can see the reason what happened when people know about my identity. But still I wanted to tell you breaking the promise, however I could not tell you because I was afraid that you will break our friendship after knowing who I am.” He looked at me for a response. Our coffees were already served, so I looked at him and took a sip. I didn't know what to tell, because he lied to me but he had his reasons.
ANDREW'S POINT OF VIEW
I again said seeing that she didn't say anything, "I promise I have not lied to you about anything else." Well, there's one thing that I can't even tell you, I thought to myself. She finally spoke, "Okay, so promise me you will not hide anything from me from now." I promised. She said again, "I am just forgiving you because you are my best friend and you deserve a chance. But you know what I am a forgiving person, but..." I said, "But what?" She said, "You deserve a punishment." I said, "I am ready, just tell me but we have to remain best friends after I take my punishment." She said, "You... you ... should... treat... me to an expensive lunch." She laughed. I also laughed by what she said. She again said, "I didn't know my best friend was rich, so I need a treat. I have paid for you so much time thinking that you have problem with money. But who knew that you are damn rich!" I agreed and our friendship was fine again like before.
