In the meantime I had even had time to think a little about Luna's words to me. The Alpha had forced Tyler into another conversation he said he didn't feel like having after all the hassle so far today.
I sat in a room with the other two human girls. The table in front of us was set with fine crockery and we all had a cup of tea. But none of us took a sip. The brunette was incredibly pale around the nose and stared into nothing, while the black-haired woman, whom I saw fully awake for the first time to my knowledge, was shaking so hard you could hear her teeth chattering.
I looked uncertainly from one to the other and decided to see if I could help the black-haired one in any way. To my amazement, in what I would have described as more of a small dining room, I found a rug on a side table in the corner. I took these and carefully moved towards the girl. Although I actually wanted to prevent it with my slow movements, she was startled when I stood in front of her. Her eyes were wide open, her pupils abnormally large. Her arms, which were only covered up to the elbows by her shirt, were raised protectively in front of her, but they were covered with dozens of small bruises.
I didn't have to think long about where they came from. At dinner in this large hall, I finally noticed that her companion drugged her to keep her quiet. Presumably, she also defended herself against him and so only more bruises came about.
She was still staring at me, almost in panic. Acted like a wounded animal that saw its end coming. Without making any quick movements, I put the blanket around her shoulders.
She seemed confused at first, but then she realized that I meant her no harm. Still highly tense, she pulled the blanket tighter around her body. I smiled slightly at her, trying not to scare her further. However, her pupils still remain dilated and the trembling did not end. The girl sniffled and a tear ran down her cheek. This was followed by others until she sobbed and cried heartbreakingly.
The brunette also seemed to have finally arrived with her thoughts in reality and was suddenly standing next to me. "What's wrong with her?" she asked me, but all I could do was shrug my shoulders. After all, I didn't know why she was in this state myself. "Should we maybe get a doctor?" she asked me in a low, worried voice.
Before I was able to nod, however, I realized that our counterpart was swaying in the chair. At the last moment I was able to grab one of her arms before she fell off the chair and just prevented her head from hitting the wooden floor. With the help of the other girl, I carefully laid the now unconscious girl on the floor.
,,Oh God! What do we do now?", the frightened brunette touched her forehead and seemed to think for a moment: "Okay, we need help..." She looked at me briefly, I nodded. "Then... Then... I'll look for someone and you'll take care of her here?" she asked me. I nodded again. I was quite frightened myself and looked at the black-haired woman, who wasn't always awake So while the other girl ran outside, I knelt down next to the unconscious woman and tried to wake her up somehow, but nothing helped.
However, it wasn't thirty seconds before the brunette was standing in the room with a werewolf who was staring at the unconscious woman in shock. "Damn!" he cursed: "You two stay here! I'll get the pack doctor!" He had already stormed out of the room again. The girl, on the other hand, was still standing rooted to the spot by the door and tearing her hair. Unsure what to do now, she looked at me, but I could only return her gaze. Try as I might, I didn't know myself what to do.
I didn't know how fast werewolves could really get, but I was honestly impressed that less than two minutes later Luke was standing in front of us in full doctor's gear. He placed his bag next to the black-haired woman and then knelt down next to me. "What happened?" he asked, turning to the other girl who was still standing at the door. "She was shaking so badly and suddenly fell over." she said quickly, her voice almost cracking. Luke nodded, seemed to have heard enough, and looked at his patient. I tapped him briefly and pointed to her arms. I heard the doctor gasp briefly before gently stroking the bruises. "Did you notice anything else?" he asked quietly. I didn't need to think long and pointed to the girl's eyes, which were just closed. The doctor quickly examined it and shone it with a small lamp. He did a few other things that I didn't even notice all at once because he shooed me from my seat to get a better look at the girl. So I stood next to the remaining girl, who was still a bit too pale around this nose. I just didn't know if it had stayed that way the whole time or if the shock of the other girl had caused it again. to get closer to the girl. So I stood next to the remaining girl, who was still a bit too pale around this nose.It didn't take another three minutes until the room was full of werewolves and it got correspondingly loud in here. The alpha had come into the room with a whole flock of werewolves and was now cursing why things had been going haywire in his pack for days. Tyler, who had also come with the Alpha, now stood with me and the other girl and gave me a sympathetic look, although I didn't quite understand why he was doing it. After all, it wasn't just me lying unconscious on the ground.
The girl's companion, meanwhile, was completely insane and was screaming and yelling as if the poor girl were dead. He even had to be dragged out of the room by two werewolves in the end so he wouldn't bother Luke any further while trying to help her.
Eventually, most of the people left the room after the black-haired woman was brought out of the room for better treatment. Only the other two girls, Tyler and Jared, stayed in the room. "What happened to the girl?" Tyler asked Jared, since he stayed with us at the door while Jared was probably far closer to the scene. "
Your companion kept you calm with the anesthetic the whole time The dose in her blood was so high afterwards that now that her mate hasn't sedated her, her body is having withdrawal symptoms as it must have become addicted to the drug." "I didn't know that could happen." Tyler said, genuinely shocked.
"It can't actually be according to Luke," Jared said again: "An incredibly large amount of it has to be administered for that to happen. Far more than the maximum permissible dose. The Alpha will probably take advantage of their companions because of that and that Girl needs rehab." "Oh man, why did he drug her the whole time? After all, you can let your partner sleep for three days at a time alone with the maximum dose."
We two girls looked at each other a bit dumbfounded. "Three days..", she murmured to me softly: "That explains the whole day , which I always miss... Only the nightmares I had from the remedy were worse than the ignorance."
A brief silence reigned in the room. "Maybe we want to go into the kitchen? I'm really hungry right now." Jared then asked, probably just to break the silence.
