The four of us had actually gone into the kitchen. Jared made himself a sandwich and one of the women who was working there had put the other three of us at a table on which there was a large pile of potatoes that we were now peeling. The brunette girl I'd only recently found out was called Sofia.
"Sofia?" Tyler turned to her, "Do you already know what happens to you after..." "After a werewolf here killed this fool who calls himself my mate? No, I don't know." Tyler seemed genuinely irritated, if not shocked, that she was calling her mate a fool. I was more irritated myself that he was dead. But remember, the bloody remains lying in the basement
. Was that all that was left of the guy? "
Um yeah..." Tyler said, still seeming confused by Sofia's statement: "Anyway, the Alpha , with consultation with the Luna, decided that you, since your companion is no longer alive, you may go home to your family."
Sofia dropped the potato and peeler in her hands and looked at Tyler in amazement. "I can go home!" She called loudly through the kitchen, "I... I... I can't believe it... This idiot said the whole time I should forget my family and now I can go again return!" Beaming with joy, she jumped up and hopped happily through the kitchen. The werewolves in the room were almost stunned by their euphoric behavior. I could understand her to the extent that it was still about the death of a person and that was maybe a little tasteless. But I could just about understand Sofia. Just the thought of coming back to Maria would be the best thing that could happen to me right now, but I wouldn't want to put up with Tyler's death for that.
Tyler leaned over to me. "Would you react the same way if I bless that in the near future?" he asked me quietly, but sounding strangely depressed. I just shook my head. Tyler and I got along relatively well from the start and that's as far as I can tell with Sofia at the one dinner, it was difficult between the two all the time, and then, well, Sofia's mate was also the one who attacked me, so my sympathy for the death lingered In any case, Tyler seemed relieved that I would react differently.
Anyway, Sofia had calmed down by now and had picked up the potato and peeler and sat down again. Grinning broadly, she asked Tyler, "And when can I go home?" "If I have the Alphaunderstood correctly, he sees no reason why you should stay here any longer, without a companion. From what he said you're supposed to start tomorrow morning." "Oh wow! Really tomorrow? I'm really looking forward to my family. My parents and my brother... you'll probably think that their brains playing tricks on them. Who's ever come back when you've been chosen by a werewolf? Nobody I've ever heard of! I'm sure to be the number one topic of conversation at home, but I would definitely be back my family." Sofia gushed at the thought of coming home. I smiled happily at her too. I was happy for her. No idea what she was thinking what to expect now that her mate died.
