Tyler then snarled something to himself about how negligent one can be.
In the end he literally kicked Luke out of the house and got in bed with me.
He had literally snuggled up to me and tried as best he could to read my every wish from my eyes.
Without his constant questions, it was actually really nice.
Just lying here and enjoying the time without having to worry about anything. Even if I'm still not 100% well.
Tyler had his arms wrapped around me and his head was resting against his chest.
I could hear his heart beating steadily through his shirt.
It calmed me incredibly and even made me almost fall asleep.
"You know, I could lie here like this forever if I could. I'm so incredibly lucky to have you.", Tyler whispered softly, "And I don't want you to feel bad or scared. I have an idea how I'm going to do it with the first bite, so that you as little as possible you'll notice it, even if you'll notice it anyway.
But the most important thing for now is that you get well again and if you don't mind, we'll take a little trip to the woods first."
I looked questioningly at Tyler. How was he going to make it so I didn't notice the bite as much?
But he didn't seem to want to answer me and instead said nothing.
In any case, I couldn't find a method with the best will in the world that would make me less aware of it.
Unless...
Was he trying to drug me again?
I was aware that he, like other werewolves, obviously had very few scruples about stunning people. But would he really do it to then make that bite?
But what was meant by the sentence that I would still remember it?
Did you feel the bite yourself through an anesthetic that would otherwise let you sleep peacefully?
A cold shiver ran down my spine at that thought.
But I really couldn't imagine that Tyler would really use the helplessness I caused him to do something I didn't want to do.
Or maybe I was just completely naïve and let his behavior, which is so lovely at the moment, fool me. Tyler had already proved to me that he could do things differently.
"Oh Lily, please trust me," Tyler said, "The less you know about my plan, the less scared you'll be. Not to mention that you're already, just by my hint, almost panic. But trust me everything will be fine. And as soon as I'm alpha here and I've got the most important things sorted out, we'll go visit your sister. Better concentrate on that. You were so excited to see her again soon.
And if you want we could also make it something regular and you could see them every few weeks.
If I'm the alpha here, it doesn't matter what the old man decided. We could make life more beautiful for all of us and change these now outdated rules that affect people. We could all live together peacefully here and everyone could see their families. Although that will certainly get us into some trouble with the older wolves.
But according to the Alpha's plan, the older ones will gradually be replaced by the younger ones anyway.
And the younger ones in particular always think more liberally than the elderly, who are caught up in their thought patterns. Unfortunately, one can rarely blame them for this, after all it was their experiences that shaped them so much and in the past these measures were simply necessary."
I was better just a few days later and hadn't needed any additional medication.
Tyler seemed even happier than I was that I was okay, although he obviously enjoyed taking care of me as well. I don't mean to say that I didn't like it, but for a werewolf I found that kind of behavior funny.
But it was far more the behavior I was used to from him.
And as he had told me, he immediately went ahead with his plan to spend some time in the forest.
As soon as I was fine for two days, Tyler started planning.
The alpha probably didn't like that much if I believed what the twins told us.
These helped Tyler with his preparations. Whereby Jared was apparently more concerned about our physical well-being and Luke always feared some medical emergency.
So we ended up with a huge backpack, much bigger than the one we came with, but it felt like it was full of everything.
We didn't see any other werewolves either. Even when we felt like walking right through the center and directly past the pack house, we didn't meet anyone, which I found a bit strange.
It couldn't be you that we didn't meet anyone else, could it?
Anyway, Tyler and I made our way into the woods, even though I didn't understand what that was supposed to mean. Apparently, however, Tyler felt a great need to do this and I had to go along willy-nilly.
We also walked all the way, since the twins were probably too kind to us and according to Tyler, it was way too heavy for me and he had to carry it.
But since he didn't even let me try it, I didn't know if I might make it after all. But Tyler had to know, and if he was going to lug our bags, then so be it.
So we ran, without knowing a path, across country into the forest, which was already quite dense when it started.
I couldn't even imagine that werewolves were moving around here on a regular basis.
We've been on the road for a while now and to be honest I expected it to get boring. Just walk through the forest without rhyme or reason. But it was surprisingly interesting.
Since we didn't have any pressure to get anywhere, we could run as fast or slow as we wanted. Tyler showed me all the possible and impossible things that existed here in the forest.
I didn't even know a lot of it from my school books, but I guess you couldn't blame me.
Unless you had a job in the fields outside of the cities and their walls, an ordinary person couldn't get close to a forest.
And the few individual trees that stood in the small parks in the cities could probably not even be described as a group of trees.
Although it must be said that there would probably be significantly more trees, but some people had illegally felled them in order to make something out of them.
Even if I didn't quite understand how they did it, after all the werewolves also ran on patrol in the cities to prevent something like that.
But I was impressed by the four outdoors and Tyler seemed incredibly knowledgeable as well, explaining in detail anything I was looking at for more than two seconds, which I thought was really impressive.
I myself probably only knew half as many things as Tyler knew about the forest and its creatures alone.
