Tyler and I have been sitting here for a while. I had already written quite a bit and Tyler had thoroughly researched everything. It felt good that he took his time and we knew that nobody would bother us, that there was no longer an alpha to give Tyler another job. To be honest, I didn't know how long we'd been sitting here. Probably over a few hours.
But Tyler gave me the time I needed, not pushing that we had to come to an end or anything.
Towards the end it got quiet. I could get my sister's thing off my chest. Tyler didn't always fully understand everything and asked about some things, but he always showed understanding. We ended up just sitting there with the pen and pad by my side and myself leaning against Tyler. He had put his arms around me and seemed to be quite relaxed as well.
To be honest, I had imagined life with a werewolf by my side to be a lot worse. Tyler was nice and showed me a lot of understanding. But there were a few clearly negative aspects.
As if by reflex, I put my hand on the spot where Tyler bit me. You couldn't feel anything like that, but you could see very slight scars in the mirror. Just remembering the pain made me freeze. Of course, Tyler noticed that too. He put one of his hands over the one that was still on my neck.
"I know you didn't want that and please believe me when I say that I would have waited until the alpha hadn't pushed me to do it. It's still not a good excuse and I know it, but I promise I'll wait until you're ready to take the second bite. Nobody should force you to do that, that's wrong. In general, the way werewolves treat people is usually rather questionable, especially when they are not companions of werewolves and we both have the opportunity to change something about it together. Me as the alpha and you as my mate. I have the opportunity to dictate something to all the other alphas and you can tell me where you have the biggest problems with the people. Of course I'm aware that this does not happen overnight and that we first have to adapt to the leadership of a pack, but we could really make the world a better place where wolves and humans can live side by side and with each other in peace and friendship. The world would then be a much nicer place than it is now and the old hatchet could finally be buried. I mean, maybe it would even be possible to enable people to live in a kind of democracy again, as some people probably did before the war." Tyler continued to fantasize about his ideas for the future, but I wondered if it was really going to be as easy as he thought it would be. The very idea of werewolves and humans being friends without a sync pair was hard for me to imagine. The rifts between the two parties were probably too deep for that at the moment. Perhaps one would have a chance if those were gone and the next generation would grow up more harmoniously. But just the aspect that werewolves could be many times older than humans could make it difficult to bring about real change, especially on this side.
