"Ready?" Tyler asked me quietly, I shook my head in the negative. I definitely wasn't ready. "Me neither," he whispered back to me.
We, or Tyler, decided after a while to go downstairs to get something to eat. After the last full moon night, it was the first 'appearance' of the new alpha in his pack and as his companion I had to go along with it.
In addition, there was now the fact that from now on we would have the place at the front of the Alphat8sch.
We would pretty much be sitting there alone, since Jared, as a beta, would also have his place there, but still kept watch over his companion.
Tyler took a deep breath, grabbed mine with one hand and pushed open the door with the other. On the other side of the door, it was suddenly dead quiet. It was somehow very different from the old Alpha days.
Would it be like this every time now? Or was it just this one time?
I was just damn insecure so I watched Tyler. He had taken a step into the room, but stayed there for now. His gaze seemed to roam the room. The werewolves present all had their heads bowed.
"Keep going," Tyler said simply after a few seconds, pulling me into the room behind him. With firm strides, he walked toward the alpha table while I struggled not to stumble. And that wasn't really because Tyler it was so fast it was more that I felt insecure because I felt dozens of pairs of eyes on me.
Although I knew many of them through seeing, most of them were strangers to me.
At first glance I couldn't see anyone with
Well, there weren't too many of them and since the old alpha and beta pair were gone, there were four fewer .
We reached the square in front. Tyler pulled the chair back for me so I could sit down.
The table in front of us was finely set. Tablecloth, plates with gold rims and cloth serviettes, of course artistically draped.
Then I finally saw a person I've seen before.
The pack's housekeeper, along with a few others, placed half a dozen bowls and dishes on the table. Various dishes were steaming in it.
"And Lily? What would you like to eat?"
I looked at the table, a little overwhelmed. Actually, I would have felt more like breakfast.
But there were only hearty things with tons of meat around me.
Tyler could see I couldn't make up my mind and just made my choice, which was fine with me.
"The kitchen team here can cook really well, right?" Tyler asked me casually.
I just nodded.
They could cook really really well here.
Unfortunately, I couldn't do it myself. We humans were eaten in large dining rooms supplied and therefore not everyone had to be able to cook.
We had been eating for some time when I noticed that the door to the hall opened again.
Milo came in through the door. He seemed disoriented and didn't really seem to find his way around.
I was startled when his gaze wandered in our direction.
Even from the distance, which was actually a few meters, I could clearly see that something was different about gabz.
His eyes were white. Neither pupil nor iris could be made out. It was just all white. Comparable to a sheet of paper.
It looked absolutely disturbing. Like a monster's eyes from my worst nightmares.
The meal was over.
Although I was actually hungry, I didn't eat much. Somehow this change here probably hit me a bit on the stomach or maybe it was something else.
Anyway, we had just finished eating and wanted to leave the room again, but Tyler had been stopped by some of the pack who wanted to speak to him.
Since I didn't have the feeling that I had to be there, I already left the room. There was no one far and wide in the hallway beyond.
Not knowing how long the talks with Tyler would take, I decided to head to our new room.
Hopefully that wasn't as hard to find as the last one, after all I only had to get to the top floor.
So I made my way to the first set of stairs and found them relatively quickly. Apparently I was able to orientate myself slowly here, even if I was still in favor of not having to live here in this gigantic building anymore.
I quickly ran the last few meters to the stairs, but I didn't reach them.
Just as I was walking past a door, it opened and the person dragged me into the room.
I thrashed around in a panic, but it didn't seem to have any effect.
How I would like to scream now.
It certainly didn't have to be loud for any werewolf to hear me, but not a sound left my lips.
I shut my eyes in fear and only heard the door close.
"So human girls, we'll both talk now!"
Confused and still anxious, I opened my eyes. I
had already recognized from the voice who was standing in front of me. Patrick, the older pack doctor
as if I wanted to kill you. After all, you're still the companion of the Alpha Alliance, so as soon as you finally let yourself be transformed, Luna will be here too. Even if you don't like me any more than the old Luna. Changed werewolves always have to hold grudges be." He said annoyed.
My gaze went from scared to confused. What did he want from me? I mean, he had said it: I would eventually become Luna, but now I was still human.
"The Alpha doesn't want you to know that and if he finds out what I'm about to tell you I'll probably lose my head, so listen to me, little one, because in my eyes it's your duty as a future Luna to know that . The old Alpha would certainly be my opinion. The twins' mate actually has about a 50% chance of waking up."
I looked at the doctor, more confused than before. If there was such a possibility, why didn't the twins take advantage of it? And why shouldn't I know about it ?
,,It would be quite simple what to do for it. You'd have to turn her into a werewolf, the old-fashioned way. So first they would have to be marked as their chosen by their companions and then get the alpha bite to become a werewolf, and then if all goes well she wakes up after the full moon of the first transformation, even if that didn't happen she would be a lot longer , as usual for a wewolf, which would certainly be better for the twins.
But there is something that stands in the way. Namely you. You stand in the way of the twins' chance of a good life with their mate. But no one here dares to tell you that, since your companion decided on the night of the full moon not to tell you a single word about it."
