I was still screaming as the werewolf who got here first seemed to be trying to get the second one off me, who was actually holding on to me.
"Get the fuck off her. She just woke up!" "Mate!" the other just shouted loudly across the room and his grip on me tightened even more while I still couldn't do anything but scream because I just couldn't move my body could.
"I know what she is. But Jared she's scared of us so let her go!"
It went on like this for what felt like an eternity, while my voice slowly gave up the ghost and only a few tormented sounds left my throat.
Finally the beast let go of me. Was still being held by the other werewolf though.
At the end of the day I looked at these two monsters.
It was at that moment that I realized that these were probably twins who could hardly be distinguished. But one of them already seemed different than the other.
But maybe I was just imagining it because the one who had tumbled toward me before was still staring at me like a lunatic. The first one looked at me too, but didn't seem nearly as crazy as the other one.
"Okay, let's all calm down first," he said, fixing his gaze on his twin.
He took a few more deep breaths and seemed to calm down.
But I didn't trust the situation.
Werewolves were insidious after all Creatures that were probably just waiting for a mistake on my part.
Dozens of horror scenarios were running through my head right now, why I was here and what the two monsters might have in mind for me.
Dad had finally told us enough.
Werewolves were for every atrocity ready and showed no mercy.
I tried to keep an eye on these two as best I could, which turned out to be a bit more difficult with two than with one because I had to change my focus again and again.
It was also more than a hindrance that my body was still not fully under my control again.
To be honest, I didn't really want to think about why that was.
It was just important to get as much information as possible, to get my body mobile again and to get out of here.
Guaranteed I would not stay here to see what these monsters had in store for me.
"Why isn't she saying anything?", The one who had attacked me before asked his twin, after which nothing happened for a few minutes. "
I don't know. The medication she was given can have a somewhat paralyzing effect muscle mass as she has been unconscious for so long neither of these should affect the voice,
her voice also seems to be basically there as just heard and as she is looking at us fairly closely, especially the one of us who is speaking, I wouldn't say that she might be deaf...
Maybe she speaks another language? Or do you understand us?" I was asked a direct question this time.
I quickly thought about what to do. Doing nothing at all is best. It could only be to my advantage if they thought I spoke another language.
Perhaps they would then become careless and have conversations near me that could help me escape.
I looked at the two in silence. No reaction was the best reaction.
Meanwhile, the two beasts looked at me expectantly, but when nothing came, they didn't seem particularly satisfied.
"She really doesn't seem to understand us..." came the first to the conclusion.
"Then her family must have eluded the werewolves for ages. I mean, right after the conquest, all languages in the world were reduced to one so that there would be no such problems with understanding."
I tried to look as expressionless as possible while concentrating on extracting as much information as possible from every word they said. And on top of all that, she had already spoken to my family, although not necessarily so that I could relate to it.
These beasts were still trying to figure out how long my family had eluded them, but they were way off the mark.
It was my great-grandparents who, with insane efforts, managed to free themselves.
These prison cities, into which the werewolves had taken the people after their conquest, were considered absolutely escape-proof.
The werewolves then changed the subject again.
"But how do we communicate with her now?" one wanted to know. "
Well, first of all it might be good to introduce yourself, maybe she'll say something and I could work on finding out what language she speaks," he said who shut down the machine.
"Yeah, that would be a good idea," the other agreed.
He then turned to me, pointed his finger at himself, and said, "Jared." Then he pointed to his twin and said: "Luke".
Still silent, I kept an eye on the two.
To be honest, I almost let out an annoyed snort. These monsters didn't really think that I would talk to them.
But that actually seemed to be the case, since both of them looked at me expectantly.
If I hadn't known that it would probably have given me away, I just wanted to roll my eyes.
How stupid did they think I was?
Guaranteed I would not give them any information about me.
"Okay...", said the first of the two werewolves a little stretched: "I don't think that's going to work out. Maybe we should give her some rest and distance."
"Are you crazy!", the other snapped at him: "She just woke up after what felt like an eternity in which she was in a coma. How can you ever think of leaving her alone now?"
"Jared, I can understand you. But she's clearly scared of both of us, which is only logical given her background. We both have spent a lot of time with her, but it seems that she didn't notice anything in her vegetative state. We are complete strangers to her."
I was just struggling to keep my face under control. I was in a coma?
What was a coma anyway? My father had already told me about a coma, i.e. a certain kind of unconsciousness. But the word coma meant nothing to me.
How are you supposed to be 'awake' while you're unconscious?
But what did I know. I hadn't really had anything to do with medical things. Whenever Rita or I got hurt, our mother would take care of it as best she could in the great outdoors.
To make matters worse, as the beasts talked, it sounded like I'd been here for quite some time. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell how long I'd been here.
I only knew that we were picked up by the werewolves in the forest and they dragged us somewhere.
The second werewolf sighed in surrender. "You're right, but I don't feel comfortable leaving her alone." "
Man Jared, we're still in the same house, just not in the same room. If anything louder happens in here, we'll get it definitely with us and otherwise we can check on her at regular intervals."
The other just nodded again, but still didn't seem completely satisfied.
He took a step toward me. I widened my eyes in panic. What the hell was this monster up to now?!
The beast stopped, seemed to hesitate. After that he turned and left. His twin followed him and with a last look at me closed the door.
With bated breath I waited for the footsteps of the two to move away.
