As gently as possible, I bit Jared on the neck.
Startled, he winced.
"WHAT THE..." he yelled, I had already pulled away from him. He stared at me wide-eyed and literally fell out of bed. Without paying
much attention to him, I turned to Luke He
was awake, as expected.
But contrary to my expectations, he was now sitting cross-legged on the bed.
He smiled softly at me.
Behind us, Jared just cursed and held the wound on his neck.
Luke was still watching me.
I had I originally planned to get this all over with quickly, but from the way he was looking at me I couldn't just do it like that.
"Everything is okay Gina. Go ahead, I'm not mad."
He smiled lightly at me.
Oh man, that almost made it worse.
"Come on, you're halfway through it. Even if I don't understand where your sudden change of heart came from, but then bring it to an end."
I slowly groped towards him.
He was smiling softly the whole time, reaching up a hand and stroking my head.
"Do it..." he said softly.
I took a short breath and bit him too. He did n't
twitch, sit quietly in front of me until I broke away from him.
Carefully he took my head in his hands
Done." He whispered quietly.
"Damn Gina!" the other twin cursed.
I concentrated again. Turned me back to human.
Jared yanked my shoulder, but Luke freed me from his grip in a matter of seconds.
"What is that?!" he asked confused.
"Gina clearly seems to have seen a certain need to do this now. Who are we to ask the question."
"She could have at least woken us up beforehand!", Jared said.
"So that you or I can debate it with her? We just decided that at the time. I would just say we're qwitt now."
Jared just growled a little angry.
"Then we at least hope that it has brought something. It really hurts more than I thought."
"Of course it hurts. Our teeth are not exactly small now. Also, you twitched. That certainly didn't make it any better. My wound seems to be cleaner than yours." Luke remarked.
And yes it was quite obvious. While Luke was only bleeding from a few small wounds, half of Jared's shoulder was
bleeding much blood?" I asked softly.
"Don't worry Gina.", Luke said: "We're werewolves, that'll be fine in a few minutes. My twin is just doing something."
Luke gently pulled me into his arms. And grinned at his twin.
"Yes, yes, just grin." Jared grumbled.
"If we're all awake anyway, then we can try it out right away, whether the whole thing has thought something or not?" Luke said. "Yes, you're probably
right." Jared said: " I'll go get a snack from the kitchen.", he said and left the room with one last uncertain look at me.
I held my breath in suspense.
I was hoping for the best, but I wasn't sure if it was really like that worked.
Luke gently stroked my shoulders.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I nodded.
Of course I noticed that Jared was gone. It also felt a bit weird. But this time there was no panic or anything like that. Nothing indicated that a seizure could start at any moment.
Jared came back and bit into an apple.
"I guess that worked." He said and sat down on the bed with a sigh.
"It's kind of a pity. It had actually been nice to spend the whole time with our companion. Especially the last few days together as wolves," said Jared.
Luke agreed: "Yes, somehow it was something. But it wasn't a permanent state. And now we can finally do our jobs normally again. And Gina is guaranteed to be fast too find their place in the pack." He said, kissing my cheek.
I was mainly just relieved that the whole thing really worked out.
I probably would have gone crazy if it hadn't worked and everything had stayed the same.
It was simply better for everyone involved, but especially for the pack and, if the worst came to the worst, for my grandmother.
Jared, who had meanwhile eaten his apple, slid closer to us.
I've earned it now.", Jared said and leaned towards me.
Without me being able to raise much objection, he kissed me. He
quickly distanced himself from me again, but grinned like a little boy.
He gently stroked me with one Hand over my cheek while I just looked at him in amazement.
"But please Gina, do me a favor: next time you want to bite me, wake me up first."
I looked up at the ceiling, blushing.
To be honest, I was a bit surprised that neither of them asked why I suddenly did it, but I was fine with that.
I honestly figured they might not have fully understood my intention.
"We should probably let the alpha know.", Jared said, but didn't seem quite keen on it. "
Yes, that would be better. He's guaranteed to be awake."
Jared nodded: "He's still awake. He's having some trouble with the older alphas again. A lot of people aren't really that enthusiastic about the new course and the many concessions it wants to give to the people."
"Concessions to the people?" I asked confused.
"Yes, Tyler wants to bring the humans and wolves closer together and plans to break some of the rules that previously applied. For example, all human companions should have the right to see their families if they so wish. Crimes against people should also be punished more severely. Many alphas from the times of the revolution are against it.
They mean they didn't send their wolves into battle to make peace with the humans." "
That sounds conflicted..." I said hesitantly.
,,That's it. So it's also really good that I can work full time again. Tyler has to pretty much count on me to keep an eye on the pack during the debates and all is well here. I guess I'd better be on my way now."
"Well do that. I'm curious what Tyler and especially Lily say about it. But please make it clear that it was Gina's decision and that we didn't force her." Luke admonished his twin. "
Well, I can probably make Tyler believe that, but I don't think Lily will believe us."
"Well, if you don't misjudge our Luna. After all, she made a very similarly spontaneous decision when it came to her transformation."
Jared just shrugged his shoulders and smiled weakly.
"Then I want to." He said, stood up, but stopped for a moment .
He quickly leaned back down and planted another quick kiss on the lips.
With a smile on his face he left the room.
"As much as I like you both, I find that subtly unfair.
You look at me during our first kiss as if I had hit you and Jared can kiss you twice in one evening." "
What do you mean allowed? You just did it like that the whole time."
Luke and I were silent, waiting for Jared to return, who had been gone for a few minutes, if not half an hour laid the bed.
For me it was still just a bit weird being naked after the transformation. But since nobody else seemed to be bothered by it, I also became a little less sensitive over time.
He gently stroked my hair as I looked around the room.
Unraveled a few strands and wrapped my hair around my face.
"It's crazy how quickly everything can change. Don't you think Gina too?
I just sighed and placed my cheek against his torso. I listened to his heartbeat through the t-shirt he was wearing.
Yes, Jared's absence no longer caused me to panic, but I could clearly tell that he was missing.
"Did you feel the same way when I'm not around?" I mumbled softly. "
Yes, but you get used to it. We can't always be together. But then it's all the nicer when you're back together."
"Is this what sync pair bonding is all about? That crazy tingling in every millimeter of my body as soon as one of you touches me."
"Not quite, even if it's a certain part. The mate bond means unconditional love."
"Love?" I asked skeptically.
"Yes, love. From the first moment Jared and I loved you."
I stayed quiet for a moment.
"Luke, I..." I started. "
It's okay," he just said, "You're about to say that you don't quite feel that way, aren't you?"
I nodded.
"That's normal. At least for changed wolves."
"But isn't that unfair? Why do both sides of this bond feel love equally?"
,,We do not know it. We only know and can trust that love is coming. At some point, maybe only very slowly. But the mate bond is when fully formed a bond aimed at love. So many couples before us and infinitely many after us have stood at the same point. Even if there are clearly exceptions. Where the human companion falls in love with the wolf even before the change. But the vast majority has the same conflict of emotions as we do." "
But what if it's different with the three of us? How can you always be so sure about these things?"
Luke put his hand, which was still stroking my hair, to my cheek, which made it tingle pleasantly.
"You just have to hope and believe.
He smiled softly at me. I could only stare at him in silence. could i do that
Believe and hope that everything will be fine? That we get our happy ending?
It all seemed so unrealistic to me and life itself far too cruel for so many happy coincidences.
Things just couldn't always go well, luck had to come to an end at some point.
Everything else was just too unbelievable. More like a fairy tale than the bitter reality.
"I don't know if I can rely on the hope of love like you do." I tried to articulate my doubts.
Luke gently placed his hand under my chin and carefully turned my head towards him. Raised my head a bit and kissed me briefly on the lips like Jared had before.
"Don't worry. Jared and I have more than enough faith in that for the three of us. I know for a fact that our hope will come true."
End
