I woke up groaning and didn't know where I was at first. I looked at the ceiling and realized it was my bedroom.
Our bedroom. From me and Ava.
Ava!
I wanted to go look for her. But then I was in pain and that was the last thing I remembered.
I felt a slight pressure on my hand and looked to the side. I widened my eyes in shock. I sat down and didn't know if I was dreaming.
Ava? Was she really here? But why can't I feel our pair bond? It was like she was completely extinguished.
"Kian, you're awake!" a voice said. Noah closed the door behind him and I frowned. Why hadn't I seen or heard him? what was wrong with me
My eyes fall on Ava. Then I gasped, startled. She got up and looked at me sleepily. Realizing the situation, she jumped into my arms. She hugged me tightly and cried on my shoulder.
"You're awake! You're really awake."
I pulled her away from me and looked at her neck. where was my mark It seemed like I never made them mine.
"What happened?"
Noah stepped forward and cleared his throat.
"Kian, do you love Ava?"
I looked at him like he was about to ask me the dumbest question in the world.
"Why are you asking me such a stupid thing? Of course I love her! More than anything!"
I looked at Ava who is looking at me with a smile. I replied automatically and then looked back at Noah.
"That's good to know."
"Why are you asking me that? Can someone answer me? What happened?"
"You're human!" Ava finally broke the silence.
"What?" I asked loudly.
"Your wolf...er...he's dead."
"Brother, I don't know what happened. But you were in a coma for three months. Your wolf couldn't take the pain of losing your mate anymore. I'm so sorry."
I just sat there in silence, hoping to wake up from this nightmare. My wolf was gone? Simply that way?
"I'll leave you both alone. You have a lot to talk about!" Noah said and left the room.
Ava looked at me guiltily before bursting into tears. I wrapped her right in my arms and felt more comfortable. Our bond was gone, but I loved her. Not just because she was my mate. I knew that for sure now.
"Calm down, love. It's going to be alright!" I told her, gently rubbing her back.
She walked away and tearfully said, "How can you even want me around anymore? After what I've done to you and your wolf? It's my fault that... Just because I'm selfish. You don't deserve me , Kian. Wouldn't it be better if you left me now? The mate bond is gone, you are no longer bound to me. You have a chance to find happiness. I only bring you pain and sorrow!"
I angrily pulled her to me and kissed her fiercely. How I missed that feeling. I was deeply disappointed that my wolf was no longer part of my life. I would like to break down crying. But the most important thing I needed to live was in my arms.
"Then I'm human. I don't care as long as you're by my side. I don't love you because you're my mate. I loved you before I was 18. I don't care what happened to me I just need you by my side. I don't care about the rest."
She smiled slightly at me and finally took my hand, which she guided to her stomach. I felt a great bulge under the oversized shirt that was mine.
"You have us. We will always be by your side."
Tears welled up in my eyes. I smiled. I was happy and only regretted my decision from back then all the more. Seeing Ava pregnant was the best thing I could imagine. Because of my stubbornness, I had just destroyed this life back then. But now I would make things right again. As a human. As a family.
"You're five months old, right?" I asked happily. She could only have gotten pregnant that night when we were fighting.
"Yes."
"Do you, do you already know what it is?"
She shook her head.
"No, I wanted to find out with you."
"Then let's go straight to the doctor."
"No, rest first. We'll leave in the morning, I promise."
...
My heart leaped for joy when I saw our little child on the monitor.
"That's the heartbeat!"
Tears welled up in my eyes and I kissed Ava's forehead.
"Would you like to know the gender?"
We nodded in unison and waited anxiously. It doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy, I would love them both.
"It's a boy."
I beamed with Ava. A little kian. how would he look like Like Ava? Or would he rather come after me? Maybe he got my eye color. Blue. When I looked in the mirror today, I realized that my eye color was no longer crystal white, but blue. I couldn't transform either, no matter how hard I tried this morning.
But I didn't care. I had the woman I loved by my side. We had a son and I couldn't imagine anything better.
"Hmm.."
"What's going on? Is something wrong?" I asked the doctor concerned.
"The baby is growing...extremely fast. You said it was 5 months? Are you sure about that? According to the ultrasound, they were already 8 months."
Ava looked at me in shock and said to the doctor, "Could you leave us alone for a moment?"
She just nodded and left the hospital room. Ava went to wipe the gel off her stomach, but I got there first and helped her. When she was clean, she pulled the shirt down and sat down.
"I didn't cheat on you!" she said suddenly.
"What?" I asked confused.
"The last time we slept together was a year ago. Five months ago too, but that doesn't make any sense. I really didn't cheat on you."
I smiled widely and cupped my hands on her cheek.
"Honey, as a wolf I would have felt it then. With my marking you wouldn't even be able to look askance at another man."
"But... what is it then?"
My smile widened, "Our son is a werewolf."
"Good morning my beautiful angel!" I said as I saw Ava in the kitchen and wrapped my arms around her. She leaned against me, exhausted.
"Good morning. How did you sleep?"
"I've missed you. Can't you just stay in bed until I wake up? Besides, the baby is due soon and I don't want you to overexert yourself."
"Somebody has to clean up!" she said.
"Let me do it."
We had been living in our own house about a quarter of an hour from the pack for a month. I felt uneasy about abandoning Noah and the other pack members, but since I wasn't a werewolf anymore, I couldn't protect them as a Beta either.
Sometimes I wish I could transform and roam the woods. But that had been my destiny. I complained no more.
"Kian?" my wife interrupted my train of thought.
"Yes?"
"He comes."
"Who?" I asked confused.
"Santa, you know? The baby!" she suddenly yelled, clutching her stomach.
"Thanks for the saying about Santa Claus, just had to add that later."
"Shit and now?" I asked. Damn, I was more than overwhelmed with the situation. I had always prepared for this day, but now it was like my body and senses were paralyzed.
"Are you fucking serious? Take me to the hospital!" she yelled at me.
Without hesitation, I picked her up in my arms and headed for our car. I carefully put her down and buckled her up. A few seconds later, I started the car and drove off.
"Breathe, love!" I said in panic.
"Ahhh... That doesn't help."
"We'll be right there! I promise!"
"Hurry up Kian, please!"
"Hold on!"
...
"You have to push now!" the doctor shouted.
Ava crushed my hand and screamed. I brushed the strands of hair from her face with my free hand.
"Good thing, angel. You're doing well. Soon we'll hold our son in our hands. Everything will be fine."
"Kian!"
"Yes?" I asked worried.
"Damien. His name should be Damien!"
I smiled and said, "Perfect."
Ava screamed her soul out one last time until the screeching was replaced by a baby cry. I started crying with happiness. I could not believe it. I had become a father. We were parents.
The midwife handed Ava our child. We proudly looked at the beautiful little creature. I kissed Ava's forehead and said, "You did great. Look what you created."
She looked at me happily and replied, "We."
When Damien stopped crying, he suddenly opened his eyes. I looked at him startled. Ava looked straight at me.
"Crystal white eyes...? Did it mean that..."
"But the legend says that there is a king every thousand years. Surely that can't be?" she asked.
"I don't know, but we'll definitely notice. Let's just enjoy this moment."
...
I held his little hand and smirked. He was just beautiful.
"Are you coming to bed? He's already asleep. I'm getting jealous. You hardly notice me!" my wife said sarcastically. She stood at the door and smiled slightly.
"I'll be right with you, my beauty!" I smiled at her mischievously.
I put my son, who was already a month old, in his little bed and went to my beautiful wife. My eyes amazed when I saw her. She was no longer wearing her bathrobe from before. Instead, her clothing consisted only of a red negligee.
"I wanted it to be special. It's been a long time."
Without hesitation, I rush towards her, kissing her passionately. I grab her by the waist and throw her onto the bed. She giggled and teased me, "Someone's impatient."
I started kissing her neck and wandered lower and lower.
"Kian!" moaned my beautiful soulmate.
I leaned over her and smiled at her.
"I love you. I would love to explore every millimeter of your body, but I really need you now."
"Then take me!"
I tore the negligee in two and she chided me with amusement: "That was new!"
"I'll buy you ten more for it!" I gasped and kissed her.
I quickly undressed and entered her without hesitation. It felt right and I didn't know how I hadn't slept with Ava for so long. I would love her all day.
"You're beautiful!" I moaned as she clutched me tighter.
"Bite me, Kian!" she screamed.
"Was?"
"Bite me like you're tagging me! Make me yours again!" she prompted.
As we reached climax, I lowered my mouth and bit the crook of her neck hard. Exactly where I marked them back then.
Ava screamed and then we both collapsed in exhaustion. I rolled onto my back and pulled Ava to me.
"You're not bleeding?" I asked when I saw her neck. It looked like...
"Kian, your eyes!"
Suddenly an incredible feeling flooded through me. My chest tightened and my heart felt warm. My senses sharpened and Ava's scent overwhelmed me.
Overjoyed, I breathed, "My mate," before making love to my mate all night.
