Wedding day
Today is my wedding day. I was getting married to my mate and the love of my life wished I was happy as I was supposed to be. But I'm not because of the circumstances of our marriage it wasn't going to be a rosy ceremony since the bride was still in prison. Even though I have ordered her release she decided to wait for the ceremony to begin and make the magical entrance into the wedding arena. I have booked the practice area for my wedding day since it made a lot of sense to be married where people fight. I just wanted to get over this honestly.
My secretary had outdone herself within a short period. She had organised everything. That woman is a rare peace; she could do anything under the sun. She made everything seem normal and beautiful. I appreciated her efforts. It was one thing, to line up my meetings but to pull a big ass wedding in a single day was next to impossible.
"Hey thanks for this Lana", I told her. She only smiled in return. She considers me a family, not only her job. "I hope I pull this off nicely", she said to me hurriedly. " You have already pulled this off", I consoled her. I was reading through some paperwork that was left from last night. "Hey, put this away. Today is your wedding day", she told me. Yes, I thought I had given a strict warning to everyone not to spill the real reason for our wedding. It was part of her condition. Except for the guys and Lana, no one will know the real reason for my wedding. I was expecting Mike so I should act as though I was happy and madly in love with her easily because I felt it but I can not act happy because I didn't feel that in the least and neither did my people.
" I don't know why Angel insists on staying in the prison till the wedding ceremony. That is seriously messed up", she muttered. I sighed in response. "I hope she didn't back out at the last minute", she said irritatedly. " She will be there", I told her. "How can you be sure"? she asked me. " Because I know her", I replied."She is still sketchy about the wedding, dress and accessories though so I picked it up by me", she told me. It wasn't something I was concerned about, so I ignored it. I was getting dressed for the ceremony wearing a tux because she was a human and she wanted something she can relate to. Our wedding was a simple exchange of vows lasting not more than five minutes.
It was supposed to take place after the wedding in the evening with a giant reception. I got ready and went to our training area customised for a wedding place. The decoration was good with our homegrown flowers. They gave it a nice touch. I admired everything and said a quick hi to everyone present for the ceremony. They all greeted me. They wanted to be happy for me but they just couldn't be happy for her. They All hated her as their nemesis. She had done everything to deserve it.
The time was ticking by and finally, the music started. The whole ceremony was with our people, no one from outside thought we expected Mike anytime. That would mean my bride would be making an appearance soon and she did. She was wearing a white dress and a fake smile but I couldn't unsee her hands. It still held the chains. I was so surprised by it. I looked around and called Lana to me.
She joined me with her shoulders hunched. "She wanted to come to the wedding as she was. But I didn't allow it and asked her to change her dress and put on some makeup. She refused to step outside till we put her chains back", she told me discouraged. " That's ok let's indulge her for some time till Mike is here then we will take it off", I told her. She stood beside me and raised her eyebrows at me. I sighed and ordered our ceremony to begin. Our priest who had a license who was supposed to perform it for me and Annabeth now conducted the ceremony.
The ceremony went all good except my bride was in chains. The people thought she was making fun of the whole situation but I got her. She was showing her protest this way. But I didn't give a damn, never did till I got my way. She would know this if she ever got her memory from past lives. "Did you take Angela Rose Ardern to be your lawfully wedded wife"?I was asked by our priest. "Yes", I answered smoothly. "Did you take Aiden River to be your lawfully wedded husband"? he asked. "Yes", she said tightly. There was no applause because my people didn't know how to react to that.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife", said the priest. I let out a sigh. It was over. I was married to my mate. I could feel my wolf ravenous with joy. He was waiting for this moment. There was a reason for his silence now only I understood. He was happy ever since my fiance was dead. He was hoping for this to happen. He just didn't talk till it was made to happen. He is thanking the moon goddess now. It justifies why I was always at war with my wolf and would continue to do so.
There was a brief ceremony called the best man's speech. Though I didn't know it Tony had already prepared his speech and wanted to say this. I wanted to hear what he was about to say. I was curious, to put it mildly. We have all gathered around to hear the speech. Lana came to whisper in my ear that she had no idea what he was going to say. She also wanted me to not take too many risks. I only smiled at her and didn't make any movements to stop him.
He smirked at her and raised his homemade wine glass at her. She looked at him warningly. He began with a mocking smile in her direction."First I would like to offer my congratulations to the bride and groom. I think she looks amazing even after prison time. She had now taken a liking to bondage it seems. Jokes apart they've always been together no matter whatever happens so I believe this is another chance fate has given you. Use it well", he said concluding.
Lana ushered everyone to the final act of our play the dance. I was familiar with it since I was raised among humans. I took my mate who was now my wife. She looked amazing her bangs still covered her forehead and her eyes partially but they looked nice not unruly and unkempt as before while I visited her in prison. She looked beautiful in every way and I had to thank Lana for that. She might have a hard time just convincing her to look presentable. I'm sure she might have even used Mike for that. That brings me to our original thought of getting married. Everything was for Mike who hadn't come till now though he promised.
We had guards in perimeters so we would get information if he had so much as set his foot in the reservation. But he wasn't here till now which just adds up to my initial feeling. He didn't want to watch something that was put on a show. He was the only one who didn't do what I thought. Lana was relieved when he noticed that he wasn't going to be there. Once the ceremony was finished she let lose of herself and started having more wines.
I had to keep myself from laughing by seeing her chaotic movements. My wife was near and I was hypersensitive to her so was my wolf. I was already seeing sweet dreams of the first night. I wanted to scoff at him but couldn't wonder whether it was going to be as good as last time. My wolf and I certainly agree somewhere but that didn't make me happy even a little bit.
I raised my arms in front of her, dishing out my best smile,'' want to dance "?, I asked her. She surprised me by giving me her hands. I took it wordlessly then I was twirling her in front of my tribe. I wasn't feeling shameful anymore dancing with her. This moment was pure because of saving my tribe. Marrying my mate wasn't life-threatening at least this time considering there was a time I would have quashed the idea of simply having her in my life.
I only missed my parents who I didn't invite because it felt I was making a deal and not a commitment of a lifetime. I was sure they wouldn't approve of what I was doing. So I didn't invite them but they know. Lana talked to them. I made the mistake of looking at the ocean with deep eyes partially cut by her bangs. Why were those silly hairs hanging over her eyes so sexy? She was equally surrendered by me. Our souls were twins on both sides of the same coin. When I looked into her eyes I saw passion, disgust and longing in her eyes. So it started in a matter of seconds. The universe has won. They tied us together forever but I'm sure it won't be for long.
