Two women

I just wanted to get this meeting over with Alpha inside me though subdued couldn't take the insult of his Luna or his people's backtalk. Suddenly there was another knock which was more of a welcome interference to me. 'Alpha your mate is insisting on going home. She is refusing to take her meals until she talks to you", the messenger said. "Ladies time for chit chat is over, get on with your work", I said. It was only a few hours before my wolf was already longing to see her. This was going to be a problem I thought. I walked towards the guest room preparing to talk her out of it.

I stopped myself to knock for a second then I entered. I saw a pillow quickly coming my way. I ignored it and it hit me squarely on my face. If it turns down her anger I don't mind her hitting me with something harder.  "I thought we agreed on you staying here until we make sure we are safe", I told her. "No, I was safe till I met you. You kidnapped me from my home for saving your life. I only went with you because you promised I would be safe here. You said you can help me with my dreams", she broke down. I couldn't see her in this distressing stage. I took her in my arms. Consequences are darned. "No, you lied to me. Your people hate me. They say I killed you. They call me your mate or something. No adults willingly talk to me. Only children speak to me sometimes", she said.

"That's why you are sad because you don't have friends ", I laughingly asked her. "No asshole! I cried because everyone hates me here and I don't even know them. I'm trapped here. I miss my friends, people who love me", she said. Is she serious? I thought even after everything that has happened I never stopped loving her. Who could love her in this world as I love her? But unfortunately, I could never give her that knowledge. If she understood a fraction of her power over me. It could end the same way for me and my people. "If you change your mind about leaving I would be happy to tell you about our story. I'm sure you would like to know everything about us", I tried negotiating. She looked at me confusingly. She might have expected something else but not this. I will seduce her if it comes to that which is something I would enjoy.

"Tell me about everything. In our story, I don't want anything sugar-coated. Just tell me the truth please ", she begged me. I will tell you but I don't think she was ready to hear that but the rest I could tell. I carefully disentangled her from me. If not I may start feeling her up which could make her run even faster from me. "I met you the first time when I was 18. I never expected you but there you were walking on our territory with bear legs picking berries alone. Not even bothering to return to your place. I could tell you belong to a neighbouring tribe with your dressing style. When you saw me you did try to attack me. But you were no match for an alpha", I  tried to bait her.

"I'm not sure you are saying it correctly. I might have managed a few scratches at least", she added with a half-smile. "Yes I forgot there was a big scratch here ", I pointed my fingers to my heart. It brought a  rare smile to her face. "What happened?'' she asked. "You died unexpectedly, it brought a war to us", some think you took your own life. They blame you for starting a war which lasted years", I said. "She said you are saying I caused this war", she said annoyed. "I'm only saying you unknowingly caused a war", I told her.

She was quiet for a second, "if you told me this a few days before I would have never believed but this was the exact dream I saw last night", she said. "Does our story end with this "?she asked doubtfully. "No, you were reborn again this time in another enemy's den. You want me to tell you that story ", I asked her with a fake sad expression. "Does that story end happily "? She asked. "Our story is never the one with a happy ending", I told her. "Fate had written our story in the same fucking way every time ", I said bitterly. "Maybe it's not the fault of fate. Maybe it was giving us more chances. Did you ever think that way?" she asked me.

"No but you always believed that you were more optimistic about us,'' I told her. "I want to go home now more than ever. I don't want anything bad to happen to either of us again. " She told me. "No you will only go home once I know it's safe out there", I said to her. "I was never unsafe there, not like how I feel here", she said with a detached voice. Her eyes moved away from me. "Give me a week Angel if I don't become successful in finding the truth behind the attack you are free to go", I argued back. She simply nodded her head.

"So tell me about Annabeth, was she in our story "? She asked lightly. But I could sense her sadness. Maybe I was projecting my feelings on her. "No thank God she wasn't there or else it could have been worse", I fake sighed. "Worse than it already was I don't think so", she said and chuckled. I was happy to see her cracking jokes which was a fun side. She evolved each time from a heartless huntress to a polite waitress. Making me madly in love with her each time. It was only getting easier in each lifetime. I was hoping that if we chose to stay apart from this life. It could break this hell of a circle.

Suddenly our door was wide open and there stood Annabeth. Her face had an are you kidding me kind of expression. I wasn't prepared for this but since it happened I had no option but to deal with her. " Hello, Annabeth! I'm glad you have come to thank the person who saved my life ", I said more to her benefit than mine. I didn't want her to make any mistake when it comes to Angel if she disrespects her in any manner we will be over. She might have understood the warning in my eyes, she dialled down her expression. Her anger was now more controlled. "I wanted to have a word with you Alpha if I may", she said. " Alright come with me. I will see you Angel have your food I promise I will take you home in a few days", I said.

Annabeth gently took my hands. I allowed it. I didn't turn to look at her while leaving the room. I know this is for our good. Once we reached outside I removed her hands and asked, "What's it"? " I want to know now that she is here, do you plan to break our engagement"? She asked. "No, I didn't, we already talked about the future. We have decided that we should go our separate ways. It's the only practical way considering how different we are."I said. I hoped this would shut her up. I thought she was the most self-assured woman I had met but to my utter surprise, she turned as insecure and jealous as the rest.

" You have broken engagement for her before", she looked away while saying this. I'm surprised to hear that she was still not looking at me. I never thought of this before, yes I had broken engagement before. My girlfriend of the time later found her mate though she moved on no one had forgotten that. "Things were different back then. I can only make a promise. It's up to you whether to make it happen or not", I said. She nodded her head and raised her mouth to kiss me. I indulged her. Kissing her will never put that electricity on my body. But it was enough. All these years have taught me one thing: be content with what I have never wished for more. It made me happier than ever before. Chasing after my mate making her mine hadn't done me any good.

" I'm afraid to lose you. I have waited so long for you", she said grimly. "She will go home after attending our marriage. She is your guest and she saved my life, so you better show how good Luna you are by making her a few days here count. "Alright I accept your challenge and by no means I would fail you", she said triumphantly. " I have to go now, take heed of my words", I said to her and walked away. Her words stopped me in my mid-stride. "May I start my wedding preparation now that I have your word that we will be married soon", she said. " As you wish", I said and walked with more force than necessary. I could hear a light cry from a little farther than it was from my true mate. Though we were not together our souls were bound. It was impossible to not feel anything though we are practically strangers. I was so numb that I couldn't feel that pain anymore, my pain was my business.

Once I got out of the building I was immediately slapped on my back by none other than my beta. "Congratulations brother I heard you are getting married, lucky you. You got a luna and lover wish other people were as lucky as you Aidan", he babbled. "Shut up Tony did you get any leads on the attack?", I asked him. " Nothing so far Li is working on it. He has some theories. Every theory is as useless as him", he laughingly told me. "I'm sick of hearing no from you people. It's time I get some help from outside", I told him. " Who "? He was genuinely interested. " The office claims to know everything that happens in the universe. So they must have some insight on this", I said absently. "Humans huh? What they can know about it", he said. " You are always dismissing others mAy be that's the reason you are still single. I countered him back. "As you say  Aidan", he conceded at last.

I strolled to our meeting room to find Liam working over something on the computer. He stood up to greet me. I dismissed his greeting. " I want you to set up a meeting with the office right now", I said without an introduction. He was bewildered at first but quickly recovered. "Everything ok alpha?" He asked. "Not till every one of those who attacked me is dead by my hands.", I said. He nodded his head and began working on it. I stood by the window. When I was called I saw a new guy who was bald. He told me his name, Alex. I brushed it off. I never thought of them as my friends. I keep away from humans if I can help it. I filled him in on the details of the attack and he appeared to be a little impressed with my close call rather than outraged. He offered me guards for protection. But I graciously denied it. Seeking protection from a weaker species was nothing short of death to my reputation.

Sometimes I didn't have to kill my enemies. The fear inside them would do the work for me. My reputation as a crusader had helped me win so many wars with less bloodshed. If I got killed somehow I don't think my tribe would survive without me. So I have to maintain myself as an invincible hard but to crack.
