ACCEPTED
CHAPTER TWENTY
SARAH'S POV
I was on my way to Max's room to get him ready for school when I met aunt Kathy heading in my direction.
"Good morning aunt."
"Good morning dear. How was your night?"
"Good and yours?"
"It was lovely, darling. Are you free right now? I want to talk to you concerning a matter."
"Well, not really. Is everything alright?" I asked, concerned.
"Everything is good. I just need a favour to ask from you."
"Okay. What is it, aunt?"
"Let's discuss it somewhere private." She said, gesturing me towards her room.
We got to her room as she urged me to take a seat on her bed, before holding my hands.
"I'm listening, aunt. What favour can I do for you?"
"I know it might seem hard for you to accept but please do it for my sake."
"I can do anything for you, aunt. You've always treated me with love and kindness which I'll forever remain grateful to you."
"Oh, my child. You've a pure heart of gold that's why I love you so much."
"So, tell me aunt. What is the matter about?"
"Jay wants someone that will escort him to an event in Paris and he doesn't seem to like any of the ladies he interviewed which is why I thought you might be a good match to tag along with him."
I was short of words when I heard her words. I can't believe out of all the ladies out there, I had to be the one chosen. I really don't know what to even say at this point.
I thought avoiding him was going to keep me away from him but little did I know fate had other plans in-stored for me.
"I'm sorry I had to jump into conclusion without your consent. I just feel you're better and smarter than those women and will really help Jay in securing the contract he's looking for."
"No, it's fine. I'll help him. This family has done a lot for me. It's the least I can do to show my appreciation."
"Oh, my dear. Thank you so much. I'll inform Jay that you've accepted."
"When is the event taking place aunt?"
"I don't know but I think you guys are leaving tonight."
"Tonight? I'm really not prepared for this and I'm scared not to get on his bad side when we get there." I stammered.
"Don't worry dear. He won't do anything to you."
"Are you sure, aunt? I really don't want something like the hospital incident to happen again. Who will be there to save me if I make a mistake?"
"Come on, darling. Jay was just scared of losing Max and it was just a mistake. He never meant to hurt you in any way. He won't hurt you as long as you're helping him, so calm yourself down, alright?"
"I hope so, aunt."
"Trust me, I know Jay more than anybody." She smiled and pulled me into a hug.
I just hope things turn out good between Mr Russell and I. I don't want to get in trouble with him in any way.
JAYDEN'S POV
I got downstairs and found my little champ already having his breakfast along with Sarah by his side feeding him.
"Good morning daddy." He uttered, with a mouthful of food in his mouth.
"Morning champ. Remember your table manners." I stated and he nodded with a soft chuckle.
"Good morning sir." Sarah greeted with her head down.
"Morning. Where is aunt?" I inquired, taking a seat.
"She's in the kitchen." She answered and continued feeding Max.
After a couple of minutes, aunt showed up and gave me a sign that said Sarah had agreed to escort me to the gala which made me happy from the inside but I didn't show it to make her think otherwise.
"Here you go, aunt. You can take her shopping for whatever she needs since the gala will last for three days." I said, handing my black credit card to her.
"Okay, son. I'll make sure to keep the best outfits for her to make her look outstanding in front of everyone."
"I have to go. I'll drop Max alone while you both can prepare to leave. I'll be back home early so we can leave."
"Okay Jay."
"Aunt, please make sure she's ready before I get back."
"You have nothing to be worried about."
"One more thing, Henry already made a reservation for her at the spa. You can take her there as well. Also, her passport will be delivered soon."
"That's so fast. I'm really impressed."
"I'm leaving. I'll send her in."
"Okay Jay." She responded before I walked out of the living room.
I stepped out of the mansion and saw my son and Sarah waiting for me in front of the car holding each other's hand.
"You don't have to go with us. I'll drop him off alone. Aunt wants to see you." I said to her while she let go of his hand.
"Okay sir. Bye Max. See you later."
"Bye auntie." He replied while I urged him to get inside the car before she turned around and went inside.
**
"Be a good boy, okay? I'll come and pick you up later." I said to him as the driver stopped in front of his school.
"What about auntie? Why won't she come and pick me up?"
"She's going out with aunt."
"Okay daddy. Bye." He replied in a sad tone and got out of the car while one of the teachers took him inside.
He is so fond of his nanny that I sometimes feel a bit angry with the way he keeps calling and acting towards her which he never does to me.
But nevertheless, I'm happy he seems free and happy once again. It's enough for me to be grateful to her for bringing this change in my son.
I also wish Amanda was here with me to shower me with so much love and affection my son is receiving from his nanny.
Sometimes, I see the attributes of my Amanda in her but my Amanda will always be different from every other woman.
I was so lost in my thoughts until the vibration of my call jolted me back to reality.
I took it out and checked the caller to be Mr Hopkins and without wasting time, I picked the call up.
"Hello Mr Russell. How is your day going?"
"Great Mr Hopkins."
"That's wonderful to hear. Did you get the invitation card?"
"Yes, I did. My girlfriend and I will be leaving tonight."
"Beautiful. I can't wait to meet the lucky lady. If I'm impressed by her looks and qualities, you might be lucky to earn the contract."
"You will be amazed when you see her." I chuckled, trying to hide my sarcastic tone.
"See you both in Paris then." He added and ended the call.
I know I lied to aunt about the last part where Sarah has to pretend to be my girlfriend but when we arrive in Paris, I'll explain things to her and hopefully warn her not to ruin my plans.
