THE PERFECT PLAN
CHAPTER THIRTY NINE
ONE WEEK LATER
SARAH'S POV
I don't remember offending Mr Russell in any way but after his godfather visited me, he seemed to have a change of attitude towards me.
During my healing process, he never comes to check up on me and each time I try to greet him, he takes his head up and walks away.
I wish I could ask him what I have done to deserve the cold attitude and about the test aunt talked about, well, it didn't turn out as well.
"Mommy, grandpa is here to see you." Max called out, rushing to my room.
"Where is he?"
"He's downstairs with grandma and daddy. Let's go and say hi to him."
"I don't really think it's a good idea, Max. Your daddy is there with them."
"Please, mommy, let's go."
"Alright. Let me change into something more comfortable."
After getting dressed in a comfy short gown, Max and I strolled downstairs and found Aunt, Mr Pam and Mr Russell in the living room having a discussion.
"Thank God, you're here. I was waiting for you before making the special announcement that brought me here." Mr Pam said with a smile, gesturing me to take a seat in between him and Mr Russell.
I walked over to him and gently took a seat while Mr Russell moved a few inches away from me.
I don't seem to understand why he's acting this way. I thought we're going to get along but I guess I was wrong. It's going to be hard trying to help him. I know how broken he feels inside after losing Amanda but that doesn't mean he can't move on with his life.
He needs someone to make him understand that she's never coming back and he has to move on without her and would really be happy if he moves on with his life. Start a new chapter of his life with someone else who will be there for him and his son.
I'm not saying it's a must for him to make me his wife or something but at least, he should forget about the past and move on with his life. I don't mind if he falls in love with someone else. It won't change the feelings I've for him as well as the love I've for his son. I just want him and Max to be happy, that's all.
"I'm organizing a party tonight in my mansion to introduce Jay to some of my business clients but I made a little mistake without seeking anyone's consent."
"What is it, David? Tell us?" Aunt Kathy inquired.
"I told the clients that Jay will be coming with his fiancee."
"What?" Mr Russell yelled.
"Yes my boy. It's only to make them partner with your company and defeat the rival company. Sarah will pose as your fiance since it's just for today."
"What's all these, godfather? What are you really planning this time around?"
"I'm not planning anything, my boy. I just want you to meet new faces, that's all."
"Oh, God! I need to clear my head right now." Mr Russell groaned and headed for the stairs.
"Your idea isn't so bad after all, David. Let's see how long he will keep acting that way." Aunt Kathy uttered, with a soft chuckle.
Why do I have a feeling both aunt and uncle planned all these but why? They don't have to go this far to make Mr Russell admit he has feelings for me when I think he doesn't.
I just hope whatever they're planning won't cause more damage than the one that I'm dealing with at the moment.
JAYDEN'S POV
I don't know what godfather has planned but I'll not admit having feelings for Sarah at all. She's my son's nanny and that's who she will be. She can't have my heart no matter how they try to manipulate my head.
I just felt lusty towards her because I was getting close to her which is why I stopped acting like I cared about her for a week.
I don't care if that sounds mean but I've been able to caution myself all these time and today, godfather had to come up with something like this to make me get close to her.
**
I was all prepared for the party just like Godfather made me promise to show up with Sarah who was still getting ready with aunt's help.
I've to act cold on the face so she won't have the impression I feel uncomfortable around her each time she's around me.
"There you are, Jay. She's all ready and will be out soon. Please, try to be nice to her for today since it's David's party." Aunt announced, walking down the stairs.
"I know you had a hand in this aunt which is not cool at all." I groaned.
"I definitely don't have a hand in it. It's your godfather's doing and you should take it out on him, not me." She defended, with her hands in the air.
"Alright, fine. When will she be ready? I don't have much time to waste."
"Chill, she will be out in no time, trust me."
"Let me walk you downstairs, mommy." Max uttered from the stairs as I took my gaze towards the stairs to see Sarah dressed in a red dress looking beautiful and charming.
I was so lost drooling over her beauty as she and Max held hands together, walking down the stairs.
It was a beautiful sight to behold. She indeed looked different and glamorously beautiful.
"That's enough Jay. She's here." Aunt said, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"I wasn't looking, okay." I growled.
"Boss, the car is ready." Henry announced and stopped dead still on the spot.
"You... You look different and beautiful, Miss Sarah." He added, staring at her with love while she smiled showing her dimples.
D**n! This lady is really going to drive me crazy with her charming beauty.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I yelled, giving him a deadly glare which made him apologize and take his gaze off her.
How dare him address her that way in my presence. I should have said those words to her not him and the most annoying part is the way he stared at her with love.
She's my date and no one has the right to stare at her that way aside from me and I won't take it likely with anyone who tries to mess with that's mine.
Just because I'm avoiding her doesn't give anybody the right to compliment her that way. I'll have to stick to her throughout the party not to make any guy try anything funny with her. Anyone who dares to try will regret ever being born to this universe.
