REJECTED
CHAPTER FORTY NINE
SARAH’S POV
Aunt and I were talking about her relationship with Mr Pam when Jayden walked in looking extremely handsome and stylish. He was so droppingly breathtaking and adorable with his charming look.
I was completely into him in and out. I can’t believe this is the look I’ll get to be seeing every single day.
“You look tremendously stunning, angel? I feel like taking you in my arms right now and having a taste of those tempting lips.” He said in a husky voice, which sent me blushing.
“Why are you so impatient, Jay? I thought we agreed you wouldn’t come in until I’m done getting her ready?” Aunt sighed.
“Please, aunt. I can’t do without setting my eyes on her for even a minute.”
“Look at you, son. Who would have ever thought you would have a change of heart towards Sarah? But here you’re acting like you never denied being in love?” She giggled.
“Change is constant, aunt and you know that. Am I right, angel?” He inquired, as I took a glimpse of him only to see him wink at me.
“I’ll leave you both to finish up. I’ll be waiting in the hallway.” He added, winking again to me before walking out of the room.
He’s really romantic and full of drama. I keep falling for him every single day, seeing how cute and adorable he keeps acting towards me.
“Where is your mind, Sarah? Don’t tell me you want to go after him? I do envy you guys' style, acting so much in love. David and I didn’t act this much like you both are displaying right in my eyes”
“I feel so happy and lucky to have Jayden around me. I can’t help it but fall more deeply in love with him.”
“I know right. You feel a sense of happiness and peace. I wish David and I never got separated at that time but fate had other plans for us.”
“But the same fate that got you both separated is trying to bring you guys back together. You both feelings have never changed. What’s greater than that, aunt?”
“You’re right, my dear. I just hope we can make up for those lost years together now since both of us already lost our loved ones.”
“It’s time to move on and start a new life together. I’m sure you both are going to make things work more than before.” I assured her.
“Thank you Sarah.”
“You’re welcome aunt. It’s the least I could do for everything you’ve done for me.”
“Oh, my dear. You’re like a daughter to me and I love you so much just like I love Jay as well and wish you both the best together.”
“Thanks aunt.”
“Don’t mention Sarah. Let’s hurry up so Jay won’t show up with another excuse.” She uttered which made me chuckle.
Jayden is one h*ll of a sweetheart. I wasn’t expecting him to act that way in aunt’s presence. If you’re truly in love with someone, everything around you doesn’t matter except the person that you love dearly.
JAYDEN’S POV
Max kept insisting to follow Sarah and I to the dinner date but I kept explaining to him, it’s not for children but he seemed to be adamant.
I was able to persuade him of the misunderstanding about what he heard from aunt with a little bribe to stop him from saying such words to Sarah.
I don't want her thinking the other way like that when our relationship is still fresh and we still have a lot to learn about one another.
“Stay here with grandma and grandpa. I promise we’ll be back soon.”
“Okay daddy but I’ll only agree if you promise to get me chocolates.”
“That’s not a big deal, champ. I’m also getting chocolates for Sarah so I’ll ask Henry to get one for you as well.”
“Thank you daddy. But, I do want to have a kid sister.”
“We’ve talked about this, champ. I already told you that Sarah and I are going to work things out, okay?”
“How soon, daddy?” He added, pouting his mouth.
“Very soon, champ but you mustn’t say a word to her, alright.”
“Your secret is safe with me, daddy.”
“She’s all set, now, Jay.” Aunt announced from the stairs, as she and Sarah walked down the stairs.
She was looking spectacular and tranquil in the red dress. I feel like taking her right in my hand and raining kisses all over her.
Indeed, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. She will really make the best woman for me and mother to Max and our unborn kids.
“You can have her and do whatever you feel like. You both are already making me feel jealous.” Aunt added, placing Sarah’s hand on mine.
“You look beautiful, mommy. I feel like marrying you.” Max said, blowing her an invisible kiss at her.
“You’re too young to even think about that boy. Leave that to the big boys to decide.” I uttered, which made Sarah and aunt chuckle.
“Shall we go, angel?” I inquired, locking hands with her as she nodded before we both walked out of the mansion after bidding aunt and Max goodbye.

We arrived at the restaurant which was good looking just like I wanted and gestured Sarah to walk in first before I did.
“Good evening boss. Henry already informed me that you would be coming. Your reservation is right this way sir." The manager who happens to be a part of the mafia family uttered, gesturing us to a private space with a single table just for us.
“You’ve always been loyal to the family. You’ll be favored one day.” I stated with a head up.
“Thank you King. I’ll send the waitress to place your order.” He bowed and left while I pulled out a chair for Sarah to sit before taking a seat as well.
“Do you like the place?”
“Yes, it’s really beautiful.”
“I’m glad you love it.”
**
“Why is the living room dim?” Sarah asked, the moment we walked inside.
It was my idea to make the light dim until I kneel in front of her holding a flower before it can be turned on.
I informed Henry on our way back to make sure everything was ready before we arrived which turned out as planned.
I moved away from her and walked over to the sofa to look for the bouquet of lily flowers I asked Henry to get and placed there.
“Jayden, are you there? I can’t feel your presence around me?” She uttered, sounding scared.
“I’m right here, angel.” I replied, standing behind her with one kneel down as the light came up.
Max, aunt, godfather and Henry call came out of hiding standing a few inches away from us as Sarah kept staring at me looking confused.
I handed the flowers to her which she took from me before I took out the ring from my inner suit, taking out the ring from its box.
“Sarah, I don’t know what fate might have in store for us but I want to spend the rest of my life with only you. I love you very much and want to have a lifetime filled with love and adoration with you. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife and the mother of my son?” I confessed, holding the ring to her.
I was eagerly waiting for her to respond to my proposal as she remained mute with tears following up.
I'm sure she wasn't expecting me to pop the question suddenly but I just felt someone might steal her away from me if I delay it any longer. I just hope she accepts to be my bride and Max's mother.
"I'm sorry Jayden but I can't marry you." She uttered and rushed to the stairs.
I felt heartbroken from the inside hearing those words. I thought it would really be a great idea to spend a lifetime with but I didn't even get the chance to ask her in person before doing everything.
I hope she might change her discussion afterwards because the love I see in her eyes is much more than this rejection.
