Aiden’s POV
I shoved her hand away
“You had no right to do that” I said wanting to rip her throat out
“No right? Shouldn’t I be the one saying that to you? You’re the one who was dancing with her in front of everyone right before our mating ceremony, do you have any idea how that makes me look, hu?” she slammed her glass on the table letting the drink spill
“Nevertheless, she knows the truth now, what’s done is done?” Dad said finally finding his voice “here’s to our family’s becoming one” he said raising his glass.
“I know you blame me for Xavier’s death, and I also know you wish I would have died instead of him; I did my best you know…to be a good son, I did everything you asked of me, I was even willing to let you choose my mate for me, and you know what the sad part is? I was going to give her up, and all I asked in return was for tonight, just one more day, but no, you couldn’t do that, you couldn’t give me just one more day, you just had to have your way” I said pointing my finger furiously.
“What? You hate me that much that you couldn’t even give me one lousy night?” I asked with tears welling up in my eyes.
“Today, tomorrow, what’s the difference, you have a duty to this family, and I would rather die than let you destroy this family again” he said, his entire body shaking with rage.
“I lost him too…did you ever think about that?…he was my brother and he died leaving me with you…don’t you think I wish it was me? I would trade places with him in a heartbeat if I could, but I can’t!” My voice echoing throughout the room.
“You won’t even look at me?” I said seeing that he was avoiding looking me in the eye.
“Fine, I’m done being the good son, I am dead to you from now on” I turned and looked at the prince and princess
“I’m sorry but the mating ceremony is off, I cannot marry you, please accept my humble apologies” I turned and sprinted out the door
“It’s time to get my girl, Scar I’m coming”.
My heart sank when I saw her lying on the cold wet grass the silence of the woods echoed her sobs my wolf whimpered in response
“I’m sorry Scar I didn’t mean it, please forgive me” I kissed her on the cheek, and she faintly opened her eyes
“Aiden?” she managed to say before blacking out her body shivering from the cold, I felt that her wolf was weak.
“This is all my fault; I swear I will make this up to you” I said cradling her in my arms and heading out of the woods.
