Chapter 9

I opened my eyes, and all I could see was white, white celling, white walls and white curtains that were half opened.

“What happened, where am I?” I asked the nurse as I lifted myself up to a seating position,

“You fainted in the lady’s bathroom, this young lady found you and got you help and that’s how you ended up here” I looked at the direction she was pointing at and saw a girl standing near the door,

“here drink this” the nurse gave me a glass of orange juice and a chocolate chip cookie, not wanting to argue I took the cookie and washed it down with the orange juice, I got up and put my shoes on,

“Are you feeling okay?” the girl asked walking towards me with a soft smile on her face,

“Yes, thanks to you I hear”, I said forcing a smile, and she smiled back,

“No thanks necessary” she said looking shyly at me,

“but if you really want to make it up to me, how about a date this Friday, Donna’s Café, say seven o’ clock?”

“How about I treat you to a cup of coffee in the cafeteria, I am just not feeling up to dinner, thank you for all your help today” I reached in my pocket and took out my wallet I found 50 bucks

“here, I this should cover the coffee” I looked at my watch, and realised that I’m late for class

“shit It’s Mr Martins class” I said under my breath

“I have to go, thanks for everything” I said bursting through the door going as fast as I could

“damn it…damn it…damn it”

I got to the door, whipped the sweat from my forehead and pushed the door slightly open, I bet I won’t be hearing the end of how late I was on the first day of class, nope he won’t be letting this go any time soon. Well, I’m here now, Mr Martin introduced me, and I started to walk up the stars to an empty seat at the back, my wolf was weak and lost his will to fight all my senses were blocked yet I could feel her eyes on me, I looked at the direction the sensation was coming from and the whole world seemed to stop moving, the room became empty, it was just her, her light shown so brightly our connection unmistakable,

she has to Shift, there is no other way, she just has to, I thought to myself

Walking her home from the nurse’s office was torture, I wanted to hold her, comfort her but I knew she wouldn’t accept any of it, my only option was to make her Shift it’s the only way she would realise the truth for herself, talking to her did not help, she is so stubborn, then again she wouldn’t be my mate if she wasn’t.

I know she ran off to the woods, this day doesn’t seem to end, what a day it has been. I bet that she doesn’t even know that she is in the woods just behind my house, her wolf is too weak to catch my scent even at close proximity to where I live, my scent is most prominent there.

“I’ll walk slowly to give her time to calm down”. I said softly to myself.

I got to the house and figured I should make some coffee to give to her. I heard a knock on the door as I was pouring the coffee into disposable coffee cups.

“I wonder who that could be?” I opened the door and the girl from the nurse’s office was standing at the door,

“What are you doing here?” I asked a bit annoyed

“Well, I thought that if you were feeling better you could take me on that date we talked about earlier”

“Well…I remember us settling on me buying you coffee, wasn’t the money enough for that?”

“Well, it was, the coffee was delicious, but do you honestly think that coffee is enough payment for saving your life?”

“Well, I only fainted, I wasn’t dying, so yes coffee fits the situation, thanks but I will have to decline your dinner invitation, besides I have somewhere I have to be right now” I started to close the door and she slipped in underneath my arm

“Wow, your place looks great, and you live here alone, can I get a tour” I looked at her frantically moving around and touching everything, she acted like this was her place as well, calm down, it will be over soon. I said to myself

“please… just an itsy… bitsy little tour?” she said using a baby voice, she annoyed me so much, I don’t have the time to be playing games with her right now, I need to get to Scar and make sure she is okay.

“Honestly I’m grateful to you for what you did today but I need to be somewhere, I have no time for your games right now, so please leave” I said as sternly as I possibly could, but she just looked at me like I was playing hard to get

“I’m not going anywhere until you give me what I want”

“And what is that?”

“you’re smart, figure it out” she said taking a seat on the couch,

Oh man I hate crazy chicks I thought to myself, shaking my head in frustration
