Chapter 107
The security let her car pass through the gates and Lily sat back calmly as the driver maneuvered his way to the parking space allocated to them. The amount of cars in the compound was enough to make Lily's head spin. This was the kind of life style she had always wished to live. Not the one Benson was making her live. When she had married him, she thought they were going to rule over the entire Lawson property. But the story turned out differently. Now that had to change. As soon as she got this deal done, she was going to take over the Lawson Group.
"Ma'am, we are here," the driver said.
She had been so deep in her thoughts, she didn't realize the driver had opened the door and was waiting for her to alight from the car. She ran her fingers into her hair to fix it and then checked her face one more time on her small pancake mirror, to make sure she still looked perfect and when she was satisfied, she stepped out.
"Lily Lawson!" Alice said coming to greet her. "I am so sorry my security had to go through that long system. I am worried about the media flooding my house thats why I asked him to do that. I am so sorry," she pleased.
"It's nothing my dear," Lily said waving her hand as she gave Alice a warm hug like they had been friends for years. "Oh, and please, call me aunt!"
Alice's smile was almost reaching her ears. "Thank you so much aunt," she replied. "Please let's go inside."
"Very soon, you will have nothing to worry about. We will handle the media," Lily assured her as they walked into the house.
"Thank you aunt." Alice walked her into her house. She took her to her office so they could have a good conversation without any disturbance from her workers or her sister who was sleeping in her bed upstairs.
"So, aunt what can I Offer you?" She asked as Lily settled into the couch opposite her.
Lily tested the material beneath her and she smiled in satisfaction. Alice Brentwood was truly a good catch. They would make a lot of money from having a good relationship with her.
"Juice for now. You see I was so worried about my dear Calhoun that I didn't even eat at all," she said in a small voice.
Alice nodded but her brows were almost meeting as she wondered if there was something she didn't know about. "Is Calhoun alright?" She asked.
"Oh, he isn't dear Alice. If he were, I wouldn't be here. He has gotten himself entangled with a girl from the streets! Such a shame to the great Lawson name!" Lily lamented with a hand to her chest.
Alice saw a light beam flash on Lily Luke she was some angel. This was exactly what she thought of Ariana too. "Aunt you know that street hound?"
This was perfect. So, Alice knew Ariana too? Lily thought.
"Oh my, you know her as well? Ariana Brown?" Lily exclaimed.
"Of course I do know that pig! She used to work for me and I fired her after she went to snatch my sister's boyfriend!" Alice exclaimed.
"Holy Mary!" Lily exclaimed with a hand on her lips. This was good information and grandfather had to hear of it. Calhoun was soiling the Lawson's name and this was good for her family. All she had to do was expose him and his girlfriend.
"Yes, aunt! Hard to believe but that innocent face isn't innocent at all! She will sleep with any man that has money! Calhoun can't marry her!" Alice cried out. In her mind, she thought she should convince Calhoun's favourite aunt that Ariana was bad so that she could get a chance.
"Calhoun can not marry this Ariana girl for as long as I live!" Lily declared with confidence. "Can you tell me about this girl?"
Alice got up from her side of the office and walked to the table a few meters by their side. "Yes, aunt. I will tell you everything. Let me place a call to my kitchen staff to prepare you something to eat," she said picking up the landline on the table.
A sly smile covered her face as she watched Alice make order for breakfast for them. Her plan was flawless. She was getting even more than she imagined.
"So, Aunt, Ariana and I actually went to the same school..." Alice started as she walked back to the couch.
Lily gasped. "What? Is she from a rich background?"
How could Ariana go to the same school as Alice Brentwood? If she was from a rich background then it would be hard to drag her to the mud!
"No no, she isn't. She is the Lowest on the food chain!" Alice said throwing her long hair behind her ears. "My father loves giving back to the community every now and then, you see... So at the time my younger sister and I were in high school and he decided we had to go to a public school. That was were I met the plague! " Alice explained.
Lily held her chest dramatically, "Oh my, it must have been horrible! A public school?" She exclaimed in a pained face.
"Yes, yes, it was horrible but my dad made sure every infrastructure was perfect for us," Alice added proudly.
Lily almost rolled her eyes but kept her acting intact. "Of course Mr. Brentwood will do that."
"Yeah... So, Ariana and my sister, Sofia were sort of class mates and ever since then she had her eyes on my sister's boyfriend. She pretended to be best friends with my sister and stole him from her," Alice went on.
"The whore!" Lily put in.
"After that happened, I couldn't have such a cheap person as my personal assistant. I fired her."
"As you should have! Such an ungrateful little whore she is!" Lily cut in.
"Too ungrateful aunt. I did everything for Ariana! I gave her a job when she didn't even deserve it and I treated her like a sister! But she broke my sister's heart and now she wants to do the same to me as revenge! Oh aunt please, you have to do something! That pig is out to hurt my family!"
