Chapter 124
Calhoun corked his brow at him.
"Excuse me?"
Ethan scoffed and pulled the upper button of his shirt open. "You heard me men, or didn't you?" He snapped. "You think I will leave Ariana just like that? Then you must have been thinking wrong! She is mine and I will not stop fighting for her no matter what!"
Calhoun left brow started twitching as he watched Ethan speak. The man was crazy. There was nothing to speak to him about. He had completely lost his mind. Without saying a word more to him, he picked up his phone and dialed Zion's number.
"Send the security I told you to get ready. It is looking like I will be needing them," he said in a calm voice that held more than one sharp swords to it.
Panic seemed to flash in Ethan's eyes as he heard what Calhoun had said on the phone. "You are calling security on me?" Ethan screeched.
Calhoun got up from his seat and pulled up his sleeves. Ethan shrank back as Calhoun approached him. But just as hr got closer, he moved towards the door instead and pulled it open.
"The last time you came here, you were under the influence of alcohol and that was why I didn't touch you myself." His voice vibrated around the room causing goosebumps to appear on Ethan's body.
"I accepted this meeting because I thought the letter my lawyer served you must have giving you some sort of intelligence. But I am afraid I was wrong. Now, if you do not want violence, I ask of you to leave and make sure I never see your face anymore because the next time, I won't be so civil!"
Ethan was on his feet as soon as Calhoun finished speaking. It was like whatever had been making him feel so confident evaded his body the moment Calhoun spoke. He didn't want to create another scene. This time, his uncle would never forgive him.
He stepped out of the office and Calhoun closed it behind him.
Ethan knew his mission had failed but like an obsessed person, he couldn't bring himself to let it go. As he walked to the elevator he had come in through his brain tried to find another option for him. He was tempted to pull all the doors open and find Aria but he refrained from it. Calhoun might be watching him. He had to be careful. He would just wait till Aria closed for the day.
Ethan got to his car and drove down to Ariana's place. He parked some blocks before her apartment and waited for the time to pass. It was early afternoon so he had about two hours to wait. He almost dozed off as he sat in his car like cat waiting for an unsuspecting mouse to pass by so it could pounce on. A lot of taxis and vehicles came by but none of them was Aria. Ethan was almost losing his mind but he stayed patient.
Finally, a taxi came to a stop by the gate and Ariana stepped out of it with files in her hand. Her hair was all over her face as the breeze kissed her beautiful skin. As she fixed her hair, Ethan could see it happening in slow motion. He felt his skin itch to touch even her cheeks once again. Ariana was too beautiful to be with someone else. It had to be him.
He stepped out of his car and started trailing after Aria as she walked to her elevator. As she pressed the key to her floor and waited for the door to close, Ethan took the opportunity to run inside and pressed the stop button.
"Oh my God!" Ariana exclaimed as she saw him. Her files were on the floor in that panic and she holding her chest. "Ethan, what are you doing?" She exclaimed.
Ethan smiled at her. He raised his finger and moved them to touch her reddened cheeks but before they could reach her, she slapped his hand away.
"Ethan, have you lost your mind? What are you doing?" She screeched moving to the control panel but he blocked the panel with his body.
"I want to speak with you and you have to listen to me!" Ethan snapped. He hated the fact that she refused his advances. How dare she?
Ariana shook her head refusing to remain locked in an elevator with Ethan. The way his eyes were sparkling scared her. He didn't kook like the Ethan she once loved. This Ethan looked sick!
"Ethan get out of my way or I'll call the police!" She threatened. She knew about the court charges against him and even if she was against it, she would call them herself if she had to. Ethan wasn't normal anymore.
"Call whoever you want! I am not releasing this elevator until you listen to me!" He snarled, his eyes reducing in size.
Ariana's heart was in her chest and she had to take deep breathes to control herself. She had to be very logical about her actions. If Ethan was no longer normal, she had to be careful dealing with him. Especially, in a closed up place like an elevator.
As the minutes passed she was starting to feel uncomfortable in the enclosed space. She needed to get out. She looked around helplessly and her eyes fell on the camera. Her only prayer was that whoever was on the other side was on duty and was deploying help for her.
"What do you want from me Ethan?" Ariana asked him. It felt like she had been asking this same question for too long.
"I know that you work for Calhoun Lawson and you are involved with him! You dared to leave me for him!" Ethan snapped taking steps towards her.
"Stay away from me Ethan!" Ariana called moving away from him. At that moment he looked like a monster and she couldn't find whatever she had falling in love with in him.
Ethan stopped moving towards her and his face morphed into sadness. He started sniffing and Ariana's eyes almost fell out in choke. What was he doing? —She wondered.
