Chapter 130
"What do you mean by there is nothing to fight for? Huh?" Sofia questioned feeling her body itch. She couldn't let Ariana live in peace. She had to pay for making her lose someone like Ethan. Because of Ariana there was nothing Sofia could do that would make him love her. He hated her like a plague.
"Sofia, why are we even doing this? I do not love Calhoun. The truth is I am only obsessed with him and that's all! What sort of relationship will we be creating? If he loves Ariana then it's best we let them be..." Alice stated.
Sofia felt like a plug was pulled out of her brains. Was her sister going crazy or was she the one not reading the lines right?
"Alice what are you saying? We can't let Ariana be happy, why should we do that? She doesn't deserve happiness! She deserves pain and heartache just like she has caused me!" Sofia spat in anger.
"Why should she feel pain Sofia? For all I know, Ariana is a good person. She worked diligently and in truth she did nothing wrong. I think she deserves to be happy." Alice wasn't going to argue with her little sister. Ariana was innocent she didn't deserve all the trouble She and Sofia were throwing at her. she was done.
"Why are you speaking like this all of a sudden? For what? What did Calhoun say to you?" Sofia knew her sister. She wasn't one to give up on things so easily. That Calhoun must have threatened her with something. He must have made her change her mind. This wasn't the Alice Brentwood she knew!
"Calhoun said nothing to me. He only reminded me of my priority and right now, that is to keep this company alive!" Alice spat back. She could not understand why Sofia was refusing to let go! As far as she knew, Sofia was also only obsessed with Ethan and that was it nothing more!
Sofia started laughing and Alice frowned. Her sister's laughter wasn't a joyful one. It was bitter.
"Sofia, believe me, you do not need to continue with this. We have more important things to think about than planing on damaging some street girl's life!" Alice advised.
"Oh please spare me that lecture Alice!" Sofia spat and Alice held her tongue.
"What do I have that is Kore important? Daddy gave everything to you! I have nothing! The company you make so much mouth about isn't under my name! It is yours!" Sofia went on ranting and Alice went numb.
She could not believe her sister had kept things like that in her heart.
"... Alice the only thing that belongs to me is Ethan! And j will not rest till I have him! I don't care if I have to ruin a thousand people's life to get it but I will!" Sofia said.
"But Sofia can't you see that everything you are doing is in vane? Ethan will never love you! He is as obsessed as you are but with Ariana and not you! You need to let go! Or it will ruin you" Alice warned. The amount if bitterness coming from her sister scared her. For her to even speak of the company arrangement, it was baffling because Sofia never actually cared about things like that!
"I am not obsessed with him! I love him. I want him and I will get him!" Sofia retorted on the phone.
"Can you hear yourself? You sound crazy!" Alice spat.
"No, you are the one who sounds crazy! You are the one giving up on something you want so bad! Go on and manage the company and get all the praise! I do not want any of it, all I want is Ethan! I spent my whole life fighting for him and you think I will let this go? No way!" Sofia screeched.
Alice took the phone away from her ears to avoid hearing lose. By the time she returned the phone to her ears again, Sofia had ended the call. Her heart broke
Her sister had lost her mind. She had to warn Calhoun.
She dialed his number and as usual it redirected to his manager, Zion. She hated the idea of having to speak to someone as low class as Zion but she had no choice in this case. She didn't want to have a hand in this matter and she wanted her family out as well.
"Hello, Zion," Alice began as calmly as possible despite the war happening in her heart. "I will like you to inform your boss that, I am clearing my hands off his love life. I want nothing to do with him and neither does my family. Please ask him to withdraw the case, I will fill and sign whatever he needs but I and my family want nothing to do with it," she said in a long breathe.
Zion was shocked and couldn't even speak. He stammered and found it difficult to make out words. Who would have thought, Alice Brentwood would raise the white flag?
"I will inform him," he whispered and Alice ended the call. That was all she needed to hear.
Next on the agenda, was to save her sister from madness. She picked up her bag and snatched her car keys from the table. She needed to go to her sister.
As she walked out of her office she went to the receptionist, "please put a call through to Lisa and ask her to take the day off and resume tomorrow."
"Yes— yes ma'am," the lady stuttered. She couldn't believe her boss had just used the word 'please' and a name of one of her employees in one sentence. The day kept getting more and more dramatic.
Alice went to her car and pulled out of the building. She realized her mistake. Lisa and Ariana were never her enemy. She was her own enemy and she had allowed that to affect even her sister. She needed to help her.
She only hoped, Sofia would listen.
