Chapter 183
Nikita felt she had rested enough. It was time to set the ball rolling. She went to the shower and rinsed out the sweat and negative energy from the breakfast away from her body. When she finished she picked up the most seductive dress she could find in her wardrobe and matched it with heeled slippers.
She let her hair fall just as Calhoun used to like it. For her makeup, she decided to go the extra mile by accentuating her eyes to draw more attention and then she used lipgloss for her thick lips.
When she was done, she moved out of the room and confidently headed to Calhoun's room. She didn't need direction, she knew exactly where she was headed. They had been in that room so many times she couldn't even start counting. As she got to the front door, she knew the right thing to do would be to knock but she wasn't about to do that. She didn't dress up this good so that she would get here and chicken. She would get Calhoun no matter what.
Bracing herself, she pushed the door open and walked in.
"Cally!" She called as she walked into the room. Her fake lashed eyes fell on the couple on the bed.
They weren't making out. But they looked like they had just done something for Ariana was glowing and Calhoun was hovering around her like a mutt to light.
"I am sorry, did I disturb something?" She said holding her heart. "I just keep forgetting that things have changed and you know..." she trailed off trying to pass the message to Ariana that she and Calhoun had a history together.
"We spent so much time in here, Gosh! It was the best moment of my life Cally!" She exclaimed holding her chest dramatically.
Calhoun heaved a sigh as he sat up straighter. "Nikita, I don't think you have officially met my fiancée, Ariana Brown!" He said pointing towards Ariana.
Nikita stared at Ariana like the latter was a non-living thing. "No, I haven't," she replied bitterly.
"Well, let me do the honours," Calhoun said proudly. "My love meets my old friend, Nikita Brown," he introduced.
"Hy!" Ariana greeted politely.
"Now Nikita meet my fiancee. The woman after my heart. The woman who makes me feel better than any other person in this world. My soul mate and my everything, Ariana Brown." He laid extra emphasis on the words hoping Nikita would get the message and stay far away from him but Nikita was shameless even more than he remembered.
"Oh, hello!" She said with her nose raised in the air. "Cally, I am sorry can we talk for a minute? I really need to talk to you."
Calhoun wanted to refuse but Ariana held his hand, signalling to him to accept it. "Okay," he grumbled getting up from the bed.
Nikita was excited. This was like a big win for her. She thought Ariana was stupid for letting her have Calhoun because she didn't call him for a moment. She wanted him to be with her for a lifetime.
Calhoun led her outside his bedroom and he stopped to glare at her. He folded his hands across his chest and watched her bathe her eyes towards him.
"What do you want?" He growled. Being in closeness with her made him remember how much he had actually wished she could talk to him this way.
"Cally, I am so sorry," she started. She was playing with her fingers as she made up her words. "Everything that happened... I didn't know what I was actually doing. I love you so much, most times I get scared. In fact, I got scared... Cally I was only scared of love please forgive me." Her fingers were now reaching for his biceps.
He brushed off her incoming fingers gently. "Nikita, I don't have anything against you. I have forgotten about everything."
"But Cally, I haven't forgotten," she whispered softly.
She raised her eyes and stared at Calhoun. He hadn't moved from his position. He was still watching her and she used the opportunity to move forward and lean into him. "Cally I still love you... I can't help myself," she whispered caressing his chest. Her hands slipped to the back of his head as she pulled him closer.
"I haven't been able to stop thinking about you... about us..." she said stretching towards his lips.
He held her upper arms in place creating even more space between them. "Nikita, I just introduced you to my fiancee. What are you trying to say?"
Nikita rolled her eyes and said, "we both know you don't love her. It is me you love. Come on Cally!" She insisted squirming her body towards him.
"Nikita!" Calhoun roared pushing her away. He felt disgusted by her actions. "What are you doing?"
Nikita had fake tears in her eyes at this point. Calhoun went letting her lean on him or even touch him like they used to. "I want you... is that too much to ask?"
Calhoun scoffed and took a step back. "Nikita you are truly shameless. So you came to my house with the intention of us getting back together? How?"
"Because I love you! Is that a crime?" She cried out.
Calhoun narrowed his eyes at her. He shook his head and turned away there was no point in talking with her. His anger was already rising. He would hurt her if he continued talking to her.
"Cally?" She screamed.
How could she say she loved him when she had left him for another man? How could she come back after so many years to claim what she had thrown to the ground?
"Cally please, don't do this to me. I truly love you!" She yelled after him.
"Love is not selfish Nikita!" Calhoun roared his voice vibrating around the walls of the corridor. He stopped moving towards his room and turned to her. "You do not love me and I will appreciate it if you do not say what you don't feel!"
"But I do..."
