I didn’t know I fell asleep for a while, but when I woke up, I heard the door opening, with loud scratches and a low growl from Kai.
This damn impostor is coming to attack me!
Kai appeared and before he could strangle me to death, Maximus appeared. He pushed Kai away from me but Kai was strong that he pulled Maximus down.
Kai was instantly on top of me, strangling me to death as I fought back pushing him away but his hands entangled me with the blankets.
There was another movement from the door, followed by Arya showing up as she watched us, frozen in shock.
Maximus was in the corner, trying to stop Kai but he was weak as he was on his knees.
“Kai?” Arya rolled her eyes, “You’re fighting him again? I told you-“
“He’s not Kai!” I yelled at her, “Run!”
Arya was still standing there, not believing me as she looked at Kai. The tattoos disappeared on Kai’s hand, followed by the familiar smile as he greeted, “Hello, Arya.”
This is not Zef, nor Kai, Who the hell is this impostor? I gritted my teeth, fighting back.
I was able to land a hit and make the imposter faint for a few seconds.
Alpha Kamilah and Alpha Magnus later appeared upon hearing the commotion, with Gusev, who arrived in time. We managed to get the impostor locked up in the dungeon.
And although that matter has been a bit solved, I couldn’t forget the last thing I heard from the impostor.
“You’re lovely Kai and Kira is in a tight situation.”
As soon as I was away from that infirmary, I instantly ran away, not even fully dressed with only my denim shorts on and bandages wrapped all over my shoulder, knowing I wasn’t even fully healed. Arya wanted to stop me, but she realized it would be useless so she instantly go after me.
The sun is rising, and another day has completely passed.
She must have understood my recklessness.
I cannot wait anymore and waste any damn seconds from saving Kira. I would even chase her through the depths of hell just so I could save her.
I glanced at her when she managed to keep up, “You’re coming with me?”
She smirked at me, “Of course, I wouldn’t let you have all the fun.”
I scoffed at that, “Then better step out of my way. Do not slow me down.”
She raised her eyebrows, instantly running up ahead of me as she yelled, “Who said I would?”
I sighed, “Damn, I never imagined I would be working with you.”
That made her roll her eyes at me, “Me too.”
We shifted in our wolves to arrive sooner. We ran for a few miles, and an hour passed when we finally arrived at their base. We decide to hide in the bushes and observe the situation first, shifting back to our human form and I muttered a curse, looking at our naked bodies.
This won’t do. We can’t enter without any clothes on. This would be suspicious. Humans are sensitive and modest creatures.
The whole building was located in deserted woods and some cars were parked everywhere. A few humans were coming out of the fancy cars with lots of bodyguards behind them. I knew they would be important humans here. They like to collect some strange creatures after all.
She glanced at me, “Let’s blend in.”
A woman dressed in pure diamonds and silky red sequins trailing down her long gown was walking along with a man on her arm.
Arya gave a signal to me and I nodded. She then grabbed the woman while I grabbed the man.
The two looked at us horrifyingly.
“Uhm…who are you?” Asked the woman.
Arya pointed to her dress, “I need a dress.”
She managed to knock her out and stripped her down so she could wear her dress. I focused on the man and grabbed his clothes too and decided to head inside the building.
We had blended in the crowd, and from afar, I could hear the yells of people and their excited cheers as we got nearer. The whole place was crowded. As if an underground meeting place. There must be about 100 humans here, as far as I could estimate.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is our last and most special item for today!” I heard a man speaking from it.
Just then, the two men who were dragging a familiar scent…Arya’s mate, Kai.
They removed the cloth from his face and Arya gulped, seeing him standing there beside another human.
So this is an auction…this is my first time entering something like this….except an illegal auction where they extort humans, werewolves, vampires, and some sort. A spotlight flashed on Alpha Kai and I could see him adjusting his eyes at the sudden brightness.
How could Kai not sense me or Arya? Have they dulled his senses?
I sighed, not having the time to stand here.
“Where the f*ck is Kira?” I mumbled, trying to sense where she is.
She sighed, “Can you mind linking her?”
I paused but then shook my head, “No.”
“Representing you, a very rare creature. Have you watched the movie Twilight?” The crowd yelled in answer and the emcee laughed, “Well then, you must be aware of the werewolf's appearance and this man here is a very special creature! Not just because he is a werewolf, but he is an alpha!”
The crowd gasped, some even started whispering.
“Don’t believe me?” He was trying to get Kai triggered and attack everyone, yet Kai was staying still.
They all went silent, staring at him until they all cheered again.
The emcee gathered all the screams and announced, “The bid starts now!”
I could feel the rage inside Arya as she silently watched the crowd go wild. I watched everything in horror with only one thing in mind. I want nothing but to burn down this whole building, along with its people. Her fists clenched tighter and she gritted her teeth.
I knew she was up to something and I grabbed my hand to get her attention, “As much as you want to attack them now, we must blend in.” I reminded her.
“$1000.” A man yelled.
The bidding just up and up, rising in each as the humans raised their bids on him.
“So, anyone higher than 500 thousand dollars?”
The emcee asked when ten minutes had passed and the bidding was still ongoing.
“Higher than $800 thousand?” Asked the emcee again as the bidding gets high each minute.
“$900!”
“$1 million!”
“$1.5 million!”
Said old men who were ravaging him with their eyes. I looked at them disgustingly. I couldn't help but think how stupid everyone looks. Are rich people nowadays so lonely that they pay a literary million just to have him?
“Okay, last bid for tonight? 1.5 million?”
“2.5 million!”
“5 million!”
“20 million!”
“50 million.”
“He’s getting sold,” She mumbled to me, I could hear the nervousness in her voice, not bearing to watch this anymore.
“Yes, and I still can’t find my mate.” I said through gritted teeth, “I’ll look and find her now.” I decided to separate ways from her when I heard Arya yelling in the crowd.
“1 Billion.” She raised her hands in the air, and I gave her a look of disapproval. She shrugged, knowing we don’t have that money but that does not matter anyway. We will destroy this whole dan place in the end so what is that point?
I sighed, shaking my head and letting her on her own. I did not take her with me just to gar her all night, she’s grown up, and she can take care of herself.
Now then, I must focus on my own affair which is finding Kira. Where the hell did these humans keep her?
