Small world
KIRA’S POV
I counted each second in my head, and they finally stopped the car for around thirty minutes. I’m guessing we must have reached the outskirts of the town.
I was keeping my eyes shut so that they wouldn’t notice I was awake.
With each second, the poison gas only overtook me, worsening my condition that I couldn’t even see anything besides darkness.
They slowly grabbed my cage and put me on a cart to deliver inside.
“Slowly, please. Make sure not to even graze her! Her value decreases in each wound!’ I could barely hear the leader saying but I forced myself to make out his words.
I felt a door opening and I could feel them unloading me into the room before locking the door after them.
Damn, One thing I am sure of is that they separated me from Alpha Kai.
There go my chances of escaping.
I am too weak to even escape on my own.
I stayed still, trying to regain my senses but still no.
“We meet again.” I heard a man speaking from the other side of the room.
I went into the sound and rested my back on the wall. “Who’s there?”
I could feel the man sniffing the air and chains rattling, “Ah, I see that fate has aligned today.”
I do not know who the hell is this man for him to state that as if we are that close. Well, at least I should be thankful that they did not isolate me completely.
He must be one of our captured too. These damn fowlers.
“How long have you been here?” I asked, trying to get information. I put my hand on the wall and felt everything for any clue since I couldn’t even see now through the darkness. I wonder where they put Kai?
“A little earlier today.” He answered.
I know this voice in the back of my mind. No, it has to be someone I know. His name is in the back of my mind but my brain knows it.
Wait…don’t tell me that it’s past beta, Mark!
“Mark?” I called out and instantly, I felt the chains rattling as if he neared the wall.
“Kira?” He responded and I can’t help but chuckle. “Wow, what a small world.” How the hell did he get here when he was locked up back from the dungeon in Ace’s packhouse?
“How the hell did you get here?” I asked.
“Through your scent. I knew something bad was going to happen to you so I willingly let them capture me.”
I chuckled, “That’s dumb. You would rather save me than let yourself leave? You could have escaped and started your own life.”
“I guess I just missed a particular human bugging me lately.” He responded and I sighed.
He then cleared his throat, “I advise you to stay still though, the poison gas they put in had a toxic substance for werewolves. But you’re human so I do not know what the effect is for you.”
“How could they develop that?” I asked. Humans are smart creatures, but I still can’t process how exactly they have the idea that we are somehow weak to a certain substance.
“I do not know exactly. Let us observe for now.” He explained and I shuddered at that. His voice had somehow become a bit raspy and sounded weak now…the human experiments must have taken a toll on him.
I scoffed, “How could they catch me? I am a human, those are my fellow humans too!”
“Well, they seem to not mind that. You are the Lycan King’s ate Afterall. You are a great prize for them.”
Silence fell, and I gulped, “Do you have an escape plan? I’ll escape us both here. I’ll-”
“You can’t.” He interjected.
“Not unless you want to get your head blown off with that thing in our necks.”
“How did you know it will?”
“Because I watched another werewolf, who was living there before you, attempted to escape but had his head blown off.” He said panic and fear in his voice, “I guess this will be our fate now.
We have to accept it.”
“No, Gusev and Ace will find me” I firmly said and he chuckled, “How can you be so sure?”
I stopped. Ace may have been wounded, but his will never wavers. He will find me, no matter what. If he…truly values me…he will. I know it. He will come to me.
The Mark I know is someone who never gives up easily and hearing him say that now, the experiences he had here must have broken his soul. Perhaps they had already done their experiments on him.
Footsteps suddenly arrived and a nasty voice asked, this is the leader of the Fowlers, “How are you doing their fellas?” He asked, mocking us, “Bonding, eh?”
I hit the door and he clicked his tongue. There was a sound of metal grazing against the cold hard floor. “I know you hate us, but you need to cooperate with us, dear.” He then continued, “I apologize for having to dull your senses, it’s for your good.”
Saying that he then left after not getting a reply from me.
“Eat that, you need it for late,” Mark spoke up after a while.
I shook my head, trying to sniff it but couldn’t. Stupid senses not working now. “It may have poison.”
“Better than you starve to death.” He said. Being the prideful me, I chose not to eat and just stared at a wall blankly, my mind racing with how to escape this hell of a place.
“Don’t trigger them first. We’ll play it nice then you can strike.” Mark warned me.
What bothered me the most were the chains attached to my hand and the stupid metal necklace on my neck. I yelped in pain feeling the cold metal scrape against my small hands that have open wounds now.
They have too tight security. Damn. Silence fell when it was only my now. I tried to break free from my chains but had no luck.
I didn’t even know how many minutes passed with me, doing nothing but waiting for me to get sold in the auction or be experimented on. I will be lying if I didn’t say that I had hoped for them to release me.
By now, my senses have improved a bit and I could now see a little, just a bit blurry.
Just then, another person came and grabbed me from the room, directing me to another room to see a very attractive woman.
She has shiny blonde hair that reached her shoulders and striking blue eyes the beautiful woman stared at me with a fierce gaze, almost studying my whole being.
“So? What do you think? We hit a jackpot, right?” I heard the leader from the Fowlers team asks excitedly.
“Just stay still, woman. Your body is numb right now. We’ll treat you later but you have to endure for now.” He said, trying to calm me down but I gave him an icy stare that made him shut up.
The girl with a lollipop emerged from beside her,” She’s fiercely strong, she even broke our arms!” she said proudly, squealing.
The younger man appeared too and snorted, “But that beauty is such a waste tho, though she’s a mate for that Lycan King we pierced. We should have captured his mate too and let them have their pups here so we could experiment.”
The girl just shook her head, “Yeah, you and your insane ideas. You’re treating her like an animal. You never pass any woman in every creature,” She then gave me a lopsided grin, “Oh, what shall we do to her? Can we experiment on her first?”
