Alliance
I scoffed, but seeing his blood falling to the ground from the wound on his shoulder bothered me.
If we continue, this whole place would smell like him, and this would trigger the Red Crows Pack to come here.
"We saw their warning, if we're going to continue at this point, our bodies would handle far worse," I asked and Maya snorted at me, patting my back teasingly.
"What? Staying behind your captor's sleeves made you softer? Your father leads us to victory despite the risks. We handled far worse than this." She said and I sighed. Maya is right. But I just couldn't fight off this unsettling feeling beyond that woods.
I looked at Alpha Kai again and sighed, “No this can’t do. His blood is dripping everywhere We need to stop it. They will sense this in no time.” I told Maya and she shrugged.
“Let them sniff it.” She said carelessly, which made me annoyed. Is she even hearing herself now? I just want to knock some sense into her.
I gnawed on my teeth, “Are you serious? If some other packs get to know of this, they’ll surely come here and attack us. we don’t have the"
“Oh please, just chill, Arya. I can handle them if that’s what you’re scared of.” She chuckled, cutting my sentence off, and the members chuckled along with her.
I pushed her off, “No you don’t.”
A member came to stop us, “Quiet you two. We can’t risk our two leaders arguing at this time.”
Another came to grab my hands, “Relax you two. We still have a long way, it would be wise not to fight before we even got to these woods.”
Suddenly, I could hear maniac laughter behind us and I turned back to Alpha Kai who was laughing at us, finding everything amusing, “Is this how rogue packs lead? Tsk, this must be the reason why you don’t improve as a pack.”
I wanted to push him right there but without my hands even meeting his face, Alpha Kai suddenly dropped to the ground.
“They are coming, Arya.” I heard him mumbling.
He then started to shake uncontrollably and I cursed under my breath. Damn it! I knew I was right! And they were not even listening to me!
“Healer!” I yelled. What did he mean by they? Who’s coming?
I could guess it was the Red Crows, but I’m hoping and much prefer that it would be Alpha Zef as the Red crows mutilate anyone they come across and boil them.
If Alpha Zef is cruel, the Red Crows are much worse. Much cruel.
Maya then approached him, “What happened?”
I clicked my tongue, pointing it out, “He’s shaking. He won’t even make past this woods.”
“Let him die then.” She said absentmindedly and I tilted my head to the side. No, that sounded happened.
I knew that I had always wanted to kill him but I do not want Alpha Kai to be killed like this.
By a mere poison.
I want him dead in my own eyes.
“If he dies here then you wouldn’t even be able to torture him.” I reached out. “You wouldn’t want that, do you? You will have fewer toys to play with.”
Maya laughed bitterly at that, “Oh? Are you worried for your mate that much?”
Worried? No, I am far from worried, thank you very much.
But as she said that, I don’t want anything now than to slip her mouth out from her. I appreciate her effort in attempting to save me but the more words she release, the more I wanted to just pull her tongue and not let her talk any longer.
“We need to find a place to settle for tonight.” I suggested, “We can’t risk being out here in the open area near an enemy's territory.”
Maya nodded, agreeing to that, but I could catch the smirk falling on her face. “Yes, we will..we’re close to our destination now.”
I sighed, where is exactly her plan? Where exactly did they encamp themselves while I was taken?
So many questions but I’ll just ask that later, for now, we need to secure our safety.
And our prisoner here who seems to not able to reach our destination.
I caught the slight change in her tone, along with the rustling of the leaves and the air getting thinner. And the footsteps echoing in the distance.
“Maya, let’s go now,” I mumbled, now fully alert at the presence of the enemies surrounding us but Maya was still rooted on her spot, fully carefree.
“Yes we will, but with them.” As Maya responded, I watched as a few werewolves surrounded us. No, five to be exact.
And by the stench of their smell, I knew instantly that this was the Red Crows themselves.
And Maya is not even panicking at their presence.
I turned to the others, “We need to go now.” I said firmly to them but like Maya, they wouldn’t move.
A black-furred werewolf came to Maya’s side, and Maya softly nudged the newcomer and winked at him, “We have her.”
I blinked, “Maya?”
But seeing the smirk in her eyes now and the look on my father’s pack as they glare at me, I scoffed, now realizing it. Damn it. I knew it. I knew something was amiss.
They are betraying me.
Their kind. And the daughter of their past leader.
Seems that they chose the wrong path and sided with the enemy.
I then got closer to Alpha Kai who seemed to be still struggling on his own, but his eyes were on me, “Stay…close to me.” He managed to mumble out as he groaned, clenching his jaw.
“YOU BITCH! YOU’RE A TRAITOR!” I yelled at Maya, my vision was getting blurry with full anger as the only thing I could think of now is slit her throat.
Maya erupted in laughter, “Oh Arya, Arya, our little princess Arya.” she teased, walking around me and grabbing my hair, “I am just doing this for our father’s pack to survive. They need a leader, and we need to have the supplies…but oh well, the Red Crows offered to help us.”
“Don’t you dare spat out my father’s name under that traitorous tongue.” I glared at her, pushing her away and grabbing her by the throat. I then gripped it tightly until she couldn't breathe when one of the Red Crows came to her side, pushing me aside.
“Don’t you dare do that to my mate, you rogue bitch.” The werewolf said. I blinked, looking at Maya who was smirking.
“You’re a Red Crows’ mate?” I asked. So that is why she disappeared for over a year!
“Surprised? Haha, me too. It was the moon goddess who chose it, and while I was away from the pack, I met him..my mate.” she chuckled, “such a small world we live in, ironic actually, how I once did not believe in any of this bullshit but here we are.” She then grabbed my cheeks and made me face Alpha Kai, “In fact, Red Crows are not our enemy. I have our pack to ally with them so we can kill the twins, raid their whole pack, and slaughter them all. Look closely and see who is the real enemy, Arya.”
Arya then paused, “Oh, we’ll take you with us. As for your mate, I couldn't guarantee his safety.” I growled, wanting to shift now when the Red Crows grabbed both my hands and smashed my head. I felt the intense pain behind me as my vision turned hazy and the last thing I saw was Alpha Kai being taken away.
