Kneel to me
“You didn’t treat his wound.”
“And why should I? He deserves to rot.” That was her response.
I breathed deeply, maintaining composure when I was dying to grab Alpha Kai in my hands and just treat his wound right there and then.
I want to look at Kai’s expression, but he looked dead. And stoic. As if nothing matters to him anymore.
But Maya’s eyes lingered on me, studying my reaction.
I know what she wants.
She wants to get a reaction from me. She wants me to lose control and be wild right there and then.
I won’t give her that satisfaction.
“He sure is strong, I have to give him that. The wound was deep and the poison was strong yet here he is, still alive. He must have a really strong resolve to live.”
Maya then lifted his chin and smirked as her lips neared his, “Surely you won’t get mad if I do this?” She then situated her lips to his and was about to inch closer when Alpha Kai spat on her face.
“Fuck off.”
His deep voice grunted, which irritated Maya. She then stomped on his chest again and scoffed, “Whoa, he seems loyal to you.”
“Just let us go.”
“Why? So you could return to his twin? Do you think I am stupid enough to believe you?”
“Say your goodbyes to him. It will be too long for you to see each other. Well, with you, beaten up and him being crippled or tortured body.”
“I will be the one seeking revenge, not you.” I said firmly, “Because you’re not the one who lost something.”
She scoffed, “Oh? I don’t seem to remember asking for your stupid advice. I know exactly what is good for our pack, and our baby soon.”
Baby? I looked at her in disbelief. “You’re carrying the Red Crow Alpha’s heir?”
“Yes.” She said, rubbing her belly.
Just then, I could feel the whole room tense up at the sudden opening of the door, followed by the arrival of someone.
Every one of the men behind Maya greeted the newcomer, their eyes looking at the newcomer both with fear and admiration.
I sucked in a deep breath as I saw it was the Alpha.
Alpha Elijah of the Red Crows.
The famous rival of the twins in terms of territory.
And the sworn enemy of the twins.
Maya’s eyes instantly lit up at her mate's arrival, “Hey babe.”
She then stood up to plant a kiss on his lips and Alpha Elijah kissed her back.
I rolled my eyes, not looking at the ugly sight, and just glanced at Alpha Kai in front of me who was not moving. He was just sitting there, looking at the ground with a blank expression.
Damn. What did they do to him to make him act like this?
“What are you doing here babe? We don’t want you catching a cold from interacting with these disgusting fellows.” I could hear the deep voice of Alpha Elijah.
I never even heard his voice or caught a glimpse of his face but seeing him now in a clear view, standing there with Maya holding his arms, I could see it now.
Dark rugged appearance. His tall and buffy body stood about 6’4, just near the twin’s height. He had tanned skin, and his arms were so thick that I was sure I would get crushed if I mistakenly say a word here.
And his eyes were piercingly blue.
He had a scar on his right cheek, which looked like a curved line. It must have been due to pointy objects that grazed him in the past.
But I wonder who could ever do that?
Alpha Elijah looked down at us. His eyes trailed on me for a minute as he licked his lips, and then looked at Kai with a smirk.
“Hello there, old friend.” He greeted, and Kai didn’t even bother to look at him.
“Look at me.” He ordered but Kai didn’t even bother to listen to him.
He clenched his jaw and tightly grabbed Kai’s hair out of impatience, “I said look at me. Do I have to repeat myself?”
Alpha Kai’s eyes were forcefully put on Alpha Elijah and what Kai did next shocked me.
He smiled.
Not a smirk.
But a smile. A sinister one.
One that looked like he killed your entire family and watched as he burned all of them.
The hairs on my neck stood up, and everyone in the room got quiet, Alpha Elijah included.
I could even hear a pin dropping to the ground of how creepily quiet it got.
“How’s your scar? Want me to put another one so it looks balanced?”
That was the first time I heard Alpha Kai speak a whole sentence in this room, and he looked so proud and cheeky, despite how poor he looks like.
How his whole body was sweating and his open wound was being manifested with bacteria.
He sat there without a care in the world, even triggering his enemy.
I could think how many ways Alpha Elijah would torture him right there and then. How he would even cut off his balls and Alpha Kai wouldn’t still bulge.
Alpha Elijah stomped on his stomach and pushed him to the ground, “You bastard. You seem to forget that you're the one at my mercy. Now kneel.”
Alpha Kai, to his pride, only laughed.
The whole room was filled with his laughter for a few seconds.
“Who made you think I’ll kneel to anyone?”
My heart was beating so fast. Not in a good way. But I was nervous for Alpha Kai’s sake at this point.
He might even be cut off from limb to limb, burned alive, or skewered like a barbecue. That’s how barbaric these Red Crows are to their enemies.
If the twin pack were horrible, they are not compared to how disgusting these crows hunt.
They kill for fun.
They kill because they wanted to.
I’m surprised that we even survive at this point. We are a hostage put in a gun for fuck’s sake. And Alpha Kai is destroying our chance for an escape.
Because if I was not the rogue leader’s daughter, I would have already been cut off from limb to limb and thrown in the river, or worse, eaten alive.
He’s dead meat. He’s only making it worse for both of us. And Alpha Kai is dragging me into this mess. Damn him.
Suddenly, it was Maya who broke the silence, “Did you like my gift babe?” She asked, “I want him to be alive enough and make their pack surrender to us the territory.”
“Well, he’ll be dead by the morning anyway. Either we butcher him and send him to his brother or let the insects eat his wound slowly but painfully and he’ll die.” Alpha Elijah nodded at her, “Good girl. I’ll reward you later.”
Maya chuckled, “No, I’ll be serving you in bed later.”
I grimaced at that, wanting to vomit at the scene. I couldn’t stomach how Maya is acting that sweet in the most horrendous bastard in the whole world I know of.
Guess she has a bad taste in men. Well, I mean it was the moon goddess who chose him for her so it was unavoidable.
Well, if we put it that way, I think it must have been karma speaking for her. I guess she deserves him. Both of them suit each other.
Alpha Elijah’s eyes gazed at me and I know damn well that he was done with Alpha Kai.
He’ll prey on the weak, and that is me.
“What’s that look you have there, rogue’s daughter?” He gruffed, “Are you jealous?”
