~Amy~
The others stared at me and by my nature, I felt like an animal in a zoo. My wolf wanted to submit and meanwhile I retreated further and further back. The others were still looking at me. I started shaking as I felt Mason's eyes on me. I had completely hidden Felicitas. It still hurt, and even more so now that I had transformed as well. He didn't want me.. But why?
"Amy, you're soo..." Faye started and wanted to stroke my fur. I hadn't noticed how she approached me. I flattened my ears and bared my teeth in reflex. "Beautiful" finished Mary Faye's sentence. I faded out Faye and changed my facial expressions. Now my ears were alert in Mary's direction and my eyes met hers. They radiated admiration.
"We have to get out. You can't stay in the living room," said Peter, who was still standing in front of Mason. He also looked at me with admiration. Every soulmate idolizes their soulmate. It had to be the same for him. The door to the garden was opened again, Mary went ahead and we walked through a large garden gate into the forest. I yelped happily. I jumped over the soft moss and saw Mary smiling next to me. The feeling of touching the cool forest floor with my paws was incredible. However, I was so clumsy on my paws that I unceremoniously stumbled. My muzzle touched the ground and I heard everyone gasp in shock. Everyone except Felicitas. She started laughing out loud, which I answered with a growl. Her laughter stopped immediately and she became calm. I looked back down at the grass below me, confused. What was that?
Faye also turned into a wolf and we started running side by side. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that Mason had also transformed and was about to run after us. But Peter steadfastly held him back, which made me whimper inside. Faye drew my attention again as she ran away from me. So a race. I jumped after her and ran as fast as I could. My paws barely touched the ground and I felt like I was flying. Now and then Faye and I pushed each other into the bushes and in a clearing we started to fight. The others hadn't followed. Faye suddenly jumped on me and got me on the ground for a short time. However, I was stronger than them and eventually won. I proudly walked across the meadow, which made Faye laugh.
"Are we going back?" she asked me and I hesitated. "What if he wants her and lets me go?" I asked the crucial counter-question. Faye shrugged. "I don't know it." she murmured and trotted back to the village. I followed her with my head down. I would miss her if he really kicked me out.
Mary, Peter and the others were still standing in the same spot. As before, they discussed loudly. Mary tried to turn down the volume a little, which didn't really work. Faye transformed back into her normal clothes. Probably a special substance. I changed too. Mary and Peter looked at me and both came towards me.
"Stay please" Mary said and hugged me. She cried and I shed streams of tears too.
"If he's against it, there's nothing I can do..." I murmured against her hair. Mary looked at me again and searched my face for something that spoke against it. However, I was serious. If he wanted someone else, then he should take her and not me. Even if it would destroy me. He should be happy. Peter also hugged me briefly. Faye shed a lot more tears than Mary. She loved me as much as I loved her. From the side I could see Mason watching us sadly. Did he think that if I left, they would just accept it? I already saw them partly as a small family, which I never had.
Mason sent everyone away so it was just the two of us. I looked at him confused and scared. Very slowly he opened his mouth to speak. I couldn't believe what came out of his mouth.
"Amy... I'm sorry. I can't have you with me. Just don't ask. Pack your things and go." said Mason. You could tell he didn't like saying it. It was bad for him himself and there were tears in his eyes. Then why did he do it? The same heated tears welled up in my face. You obscured my view of Mason. I could only see his rough silhouette taking a step toward me. What did he get out of it? I started shaking, which accelerated when he placed his hand on my cheek. He looked at me with his blue eyes. It was like looking into an ocean. The azure reflected in my brown eyes. He looked to the side briefly and it also looked like he was struggling with himself. I felt sorry for him. Mason sighed softly and turned back to me. He hadn't taken his hand away the whole time. Mason slowly wiped away my salty tears with his thumb. He didn't take his eyes off my eyes once. I snuggle into his palm. I wanted to keep the roughness of his hand in my memory forever.
"I'm so sorry," he murmured, locking his lips with mine. Very gently he pressed her against my lips, which kissed back. My stomach tingled and fireworks spread across my lips. He felt something for me, why he sent me away anyway, I didn't know. The kiss grew longer and more passionate. We both put our feelings into that kiss. It didn't matter what feelings. We took each other's fears and doubts away. Everything around me faded. I couldn't have imagined my first kiss any better. He pushed me a little against a tree behind me and ran his tongue over my bottom lip. It tingled right there and I let him in. My entire body trembled as his tongue intertwined with mine. They're not fighting for any dominance, they danced their last dance together. It was a kiss goodbye and I put my feelings into it as much as he did. And his were not small. This confused me even more, then why would he want to get rid of me? He pulled his tongue back after a few minutes and broke the kiss. His forehead was still resting on mine and I could feel his rapid breathing on my face. "I'm so sorry," he breathed again before pulling away. Before he could leave, I grabbed his arm. "I'll miss you," I murmured. Mason took my face in his hands again and kissed my forehead. "I love you" After that he left. He left me here.
Only after a few minutes could I calm down somewhat and my tears came to the surface. I collapsed on the forest floor and spasmed. My tears hit the forest floor hard, which they didn't seem to disturb.
After an eternity I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked sideways to identify the person. It was Pete. "I called a good friend of mine. His pack is near New York. His son is taking you in." said Peter and smiled at me encouragingly. I couldn't smile, but Peter understood. I hugged him and kept crying. "I don't want to leave... I'll miss you," I murmured against his chest. "We you too. But it was your decision" said Peter and gently stroked my back. He was right. So damn right.
"Peter" I mumbled after a while. He broke away from the hug and grabbed my shoulders. "Thank you for letting me be here and thank you for giving me a pack of space." He nodded and let go of me. Together we went to Mason's house as all my things were still there.
In the guest room, Faye had already packed a small backpack for me. "I figured I'd pack for you so it wouldn't get any harder." she murmured and handed me the backpack. I hugged her gratefully. "I'll miss you." I whispered. Faye started crying and pulled away from me. Tears welled up in my eyes again, even though I thought they were finally gone. I had already spilled more water than I drank today.
We walked to the border together. Mary didn't want to go, it was already hard enough for her. Peter stayed with her and it was logical for Mason not to come with her. Nevertheless, I was sad about it and my heart broke more and more.
"We'll write every day, I promise?" Faye asked me in a tearful voice. I nodded and hugged her neck, crying. "Can you do me a favor?" I asked her when we had separated again. Now it was her turn to nod. "Find out why he didn't want me. He kissed me. He has feelings for me and they still haven't gone away. Please try." I asked her.
"Mission Luna begins." she giggled through tears. My tears came more and my lower lip trembled. "I miss you already" I murmured. I felt Faye smirk against my shoulder. "I'll bet you that you miss my brother more than me." Mason...
