~Amy~
With every step I took, my heart grew heavier.
My wolf howled louder with every kilometer than it already did.
And my body became weaker.
I collapsed shortly before New York.
I crouched in front of a tree hoping to meet someone who could bring me to Josh's pack. My tears, which I had been holding back for the last few hours, came back up and I began to tremble. Peter had given me a brief description of him. His name was Josh, he had found his mate Kaiya 2 months ago and was about Mason's age. Josh immediately agreed to take me. As Mason would probably have done if asked.
After a while I really heard wolves. They smelled like the pack Peter had described to me. "A rogue!" shouted one of the wolves. There were 4 in total. They ran towards me and stopped in front of me. I had changed back and was now sitting in front of them. "What are you doing here?" growled the tallest of them. "I want to speak to your Alpha. Peter sent me," I said, trying to sound strong. However, I failed miserably. My weeping voice was clearly audible under the supposedly strong one. The wolves gave me another searching look before nodding. I was taken in the middle and led to their village. I kept getting sideways looks as we weaved through the trees. They made me nervous and scared at the same time.
"He's inside," said one of the wolves, pointing to the large mansion in front of us. This pack didn't have a village like Masons did, but a huge pack house in the middle of the forest. I swallowed and then ran inside. The boys whispered a bit more, but I tried to ignore them.
"Amy, right? I'm Josh and this is Kaiya" said a tall man in front of me. He definitely looked older than Mason. Which was perhaps also due to his mate. Because of this, the wolves usually grow up. The girl behind him had short brown hair and bright eyes. She grinned at me. "Yes. Hi," I mumbled, attempting a smile. However, it probably looked far too forced, so I quickly left it out.
"We'll show you your room. Don't let the others irritate you. They're not used to taking in a rogue with us." explained Josh. I nodded hesitantly and followed them. It was a huge house. Members of the pack were everywhere. Kaiya and Josh showed me my new room. It was smaller than mine at Mason. But almost as comfortable. The only thing missing from this room was its smell, which was found everywhere in his house.
We said goodbye and I moved into my room. I unpacked the backpack and was surprised to see what Faye had packed. There were 2 t-shirts and a pair of shorts. Also a thick sweater. Way too fat for summer. I thoughtfully looked at the blue sweater in front of me. A few tears flowed down my cheek again. Very slowly I approached the sweater with my nose. Mason. Faye fucking wanted to kill me? But I couldn't part with the last piece I had left of him.
In the backpack I found cosmetic stuff and nothing more. I looked again confused. I didn't see anything except a charging cable for my cell phone.
There was another compartment on the outside. I opened it and pulled out a cream colored letter.
I hesitated. Who was he from? Faye? Or mason? Hope spread through me. I opened it curiously and looked at the signature first. Felicitas. Angry, I put the letter back. This girl could be stolen from me. She should just get out of my life. She had ruined everything. EVERYTHING. My dried tears came back and flowed again in streams down my cheeks, which were already too red from crying. It hurt and the disappointment was way too big.
I put the letter in the sock drawer in my closet. There he could rot.
At half past six I made my way to the kitchen. I was in Mason's sweater and I was smelling him like a madwoman. My tears dried up and I could think reasonably clearly again, ignoring my slightly foggy mind. The way to the kitchen turned out to be more difficult than expected.
"Oops sorry" I said when I ran into someone. When I looked up, my heart skipped a beat. Azure eyes stared at me and you stared back. But then I realized it wasn't Mason and I immediately felt sad again. Those weren't his eyes. He had had a tinge of sea blue in his eyes with the azure. I visibly swallowed my tears and I hoped that the stranger in front of me hadn't noticed.
"No problem" said the boy in front of me. He held out his hand. "I'm Jonah, you?" he asked and looked into my eyes. "Amy" I mumbled. "Okay Amy. Do you want to come into the kitchen?" he asked me and I nodded. We started walking and Jonah told me about his life while I was silent and only thought about Mason. What he said to me came in one ear and out the other.
Every thought of him broke my broken heart even more. There was only one person who could fix it, and he wouldn't do it until he got his problems under control. Yes, I even drew the idea that Mason had problems very close. He probably didn't want to involve me in this or anything. Ha, it just upsets me. I just wanted to be with him. I didn't notice the tear leaving my eye until it hit the floor silently. For me, however, it was the loudest thing I'd heard in hours. I turned around in surprise and wiped my eyes. This Jonah turned to me and hugged me silently. But I pushed away from him and growled at him. How dare he just take Mason's place!
In the kitchen, Kaiya and Josh were already sitting at the kitchen table. Josh pointed to the seat next to Kaiya, which I gladly accepted. There was normal bread for dinner. I ate one slice until I gave up eating. It didn't make any sense anyway. Josh eyed me critically and Jona, who was sitting at the other end of the table, also looked at my plate. Attempts to offer me food I gratefully declined.
Kaiya invited me to join the pack game night. Not wanting to be rude, I accepted. I was even having a little fun until I saw Mason sitting next to me on the black leather sofa in the guise of Jonah. From there, the evening was over. Not only for me, also some others noticed my mood and I was asked by a painted woman to go to my room because I ruined the mood. I was fine with that. So I could be alone and think about Mason. of our kiss And I thought again about how he got drunk because of me. Jona and Josh looked at me pityingly while Kaiya lectured the woman. "Never mind, she's right," I said, putting a hand on Kaiya's shoulder. She turned to me and stopped yelling at the intimidated woman.
Around midnight I fell asleep exhausted. With Mason in mind, of course. With who else?
