~Amy~
Kaiya didn't wake me this time. I woke up by myself. I looked around confused. Josh sat in front of me. He slept on a chair. A glance at the clock told me it was half past one in the morning. I shook my head in confusion.
"Josh?" I asked, touching his shoulder lightly with my muzzle. He jumped up and immediately looked around for enemies. "Finally" he sighed when he saw me. "What is it?" I asked and yawned heartily. "What is it? You slept all day?" he said angrily. "Amy. What's going on?" he asked now and looked at me intensely. In the dim light you could almost think he was Mason. The tears came again, which I hadn't wanted to see for a long time, and Josh took me in his arms. "I miss him. It hurts so much." I mumbled. He didn't reply, just gently stroked my fur. Josh held me for a while and then let go. By then, however, I had fallen asleep again.
~Kaiya~
Totally tired, Josh lay down next to me and pulled me tight. I slowly brushed his hair out of his face. "I thought you were already asleep?" he murmured against my neck. "I've been waiting for you" I smiled. Josh smiled a little too, until his expression suddenly changed. "I was with Amy. The connection between the two is definitely stronger than I thought. She called his name while she was sleeping. Not very loud, but still. When she woke up briefly, she started crying and told me that she misses him." he whispered. I slowly sat up and Josh leaned against the headboard as well. "Josh?" He looked at me intently. "I don't want to lose her. Even if we only have a few years difference, I feel responsible for her." I said and leaned against his upper body. "I understand you." Josh murmured kissing my hair. "Your bond is too strong. What Mason decided was outright suicide. I don't know what his problems are, but he should solve them as soon as possible," he whispered against my hair. "Come on. Let's go to sleep." I said and we slid down to lie down. My head was still resting on his chest and I fell asleep to his steady heartbeat. he whispered against my hair. "Come on. Let's go to sleep." I said and we slid down to lie down. Josh was gone the next morning. He always went jogging in the morning. I dressed quickly and then prepared breakfast. After that I started waking everyone up. I stopped at Amy's door and listened. She cried. I immediately pushed open the door. She rolled over in her bed and screamed her heart out.
"Mason!" she cried desperately and choked on her tears so that she started to cough. I gently stroked her head, but immediately pulled my hand away. Amy had a fever and quite a bit. Normally we can't get sick, but with her it's something else. As soon as I could I contacted our pack doctor and Josh. I sat down on the chair next to Amy's bed and stroked her paw. "Stay strong Amy..." I mumbled.
There was a knock on the door and before I could say anything, it was opened. "I contacted Peter. Mason seems to be feeling the same way, it's just not that bad yet. At least he's lying in bed and only whispering Amy's name. He doesn't seem to have a fever yet and is also relatively alert. Only getting up is critical. " explained the latter, whom I had contacted, putting his hands back on my shoulders while standing behind me. Our pack doctor examined Amy's petite body when he came into the room a short time later. She had lost weight very quickly. Her fur was matted and lackluster. I couldn't see her eyes, but I was sure they were just as lackluster. Even more lackluster than the day before yesterday.
"We'll cool her legs. That usually helps with people. And we'll put the blanket over her." He left the room and we stayed with her. "Do you think she will be back?" I asked leaning against Josh. He kissed my head but said nothing. He wasn't sure either. The bond between Mason and her was just too strong.
I looked around her room and decided to tidy up the closet. I sorted her things by color because I couldn't think of anything better right now. I took the sock drawer out of the dresser and turned it over. A letter immediately fell to me. Where did he come from? Was that Amy's? I put the drawer back and threw the socks in carelessly. With the letter I sat on Josh's lap and opened it.
Hey Amy
When you read this, you'll probably think the letter is from Faye or Mason. Unfortunately I have to disappoint you at this point. It's from me. Felicitas. I can understand why you hate me since we lied to everyone saying Mason and I were mates. I saw in your eyes that you are his mate. But until then I didn't know. We met us at a party. There he told me that you were in a coma and that he was worried. He said the odds are against you, but he can't give you up. I helped him get out of his down phase and we became closer. My mate died shortly after we met. I also got help from friends and that's how I found my way out. Knowing how it feels to lose someone you loved I was able to put myself in his shoes and help him. As I said, we got closer and he wanted to introduce me to his parents. We had kissed a few times before and he said you died. So that day we came to his parents' house. I saw you and I felt queasy. Mason got jittery too. I am so sorry.
I'm sure he was in contact with my father before we met. He's the most powerful alpha to date and I'm his only child. I think he's blackmailing him. Whenever I see him, he never stops beaming and talking about how great his new son-in-law would be. No worries. We had to pretend he tagged me, but Mason didn't want it. I can understand him, but I can no longer do anything about my feelings for him. From now on you're welcome to hate me. I fell in love with your soulmate and I can't help it. I'm sorry. I wish we had never met. Then everything would have been different.
Happiness
"Is that what I think it means?" I asked Josh, who was reading along. "It's really hard to read, but what I read was like, 'My dad is blackmailing Mason, so he sent you away,' and that she fell in love with Mason." Josh said and I looked at him. "What do we do now?" I asked. Josh shrugged my shoulders. "Wait, we have no other choice." he said.
