~Jona~
I quickly ran to the stairs. There Kaiya lay, clutching her knee. "Damn, what are you doing?" I mumbled, helping her to get up. She was about to say something when she thought of something and her eyes widened with shock. "Amy," she panted, tearing herself away from me. Her knee became the smallest problem at that moment...
I ran up the stairs to Amy's room. There she lay, panting for air. Her eyes were closed and she was crying again. Luckily she didn't scream, so the pack wasn't disturbed. I wanted to go to her, but even in this state she defended herself and I started getting new scratch marks. Every now and then she would become completely calm again and then her heart rate would rise again. Her heartbeat became more and more irregular and I hoped that Kaiya would come back quickly.
Amy coughed and choked. Then her heart stopped. "Kaiya!" I screamed. No Answer. I took Amy in my arms and carried her downstairs. Or rather outside, to the car. "Jonah? Amy!" shouted Kaiya, who came to us with Josh. She looked exhausted. Her nerves were probably on edge, just like mine. "We can't let her die. She's almost part of the family." I said and climbed into the driver's seat. "Jona. You will be able to kill us for this" Josh said and calmly looked into my eyes. How could he stay so calm. Did he want Amy to die? But I shook my head. "They won't because we rescued their alpha and now get the fuck in" I yelled at both of them. I hated yelling at my brother but at that moment I didn't care. I didn't care if he kicked me out of the pack or wanted to fight me. You didn't yell at your alpha, either when he was your brother or in a situation like that. But I just wanted Amy to wake up.
Josh and Kaiya got in the car without hesitation. Josh to me in front and Kaiya to Amy in back. She laid Amy's head on her lap and felt her pulse. "How many times has she had cardiac arrest today?" I asked her frantically. Kaiya thought for a moment until she stuck four fingers in my rearview mirror. My foot pushed the gas pedal down even further. If we don't get there soon, she'll die.
The closer we got to the area, the more nervous I got. I didn't know what that was exactly. My hands were shaking and Josh had to steer for me a few times. "Stop" he said calmly and I pulled to the side of the road. "You can't keep driving like this. I'm driving," he said, getting out of the car. At wolf speed he had gone around the car and was holding my door open. I got out, breathing heavily, and was on the other side. When we started again, I was shaking again. "Do you feel it?" Kaiya asked me from behind. I just looked at her questioningly, but Josh made a dismissive gesture with his hand.
~Amy~
It all hurt. Every single cell in my body. But I noticed that we were getting closer and closer to him. I was quite uncomfortable, but my head was resting on a lap. I felt safe there, which is why it could only be Kaiya. During the drive, they talked little. I was trapped in that emptiness again where I couldn't talk to anyone but could hear everyone. Even though we got closer and closer to Mason and I also felt the power gradually coming back into my body, I still wouldn't be able to transform back or walk. Maybe run, but not really well. I ate and drank far too little. So I tried to gather the strength so that I could at least walk. Kaiya regularly ran her hand through my fur, which I let her do with a clear conscience. During the last few days I often didn't really have my body under control. I knew what I was doing, but I couldn't control it. So I also knew that I had bitten Kaiya.
The car stopped and I wanted to open my eyes out of reflex. However, my body was against me again. Everyone got out of the car and someone picked me up. They were muscular arms. Jonah had less muscle, so it had to be Josh. I wanted to protest and run myself, but my body refused. However, I was finally able to open my eyes. I looked into Josh's blue eyes and Kaiya's green eyes. I couldn't see Jonah from my perspective, but I felt his presence. Our car was still in front of the border. I could smell her. The border wasn't as strong as it used to be, which was probably because Mason was doing badly too. How should I actually behave towards him? He had sent me away.
Josh crossed the line. Immediately we all became more tense. I kept looking around for wolves. I could smell them but vision was poor. We were getting closer and closer to the village when we encountered a patrol. "What do you want here?" asked a brown wolf. "We need to talk to your alpha" said Josh and wanted to continue on his way. "The Alpha is prevented." said a gray one. "Then we'll talk to your old alpha," said Jona, annoyed, and made preparations to continue walking. "Stop! The old alpha is on vacation. You can't go any further from here. You have crossed our border and we ask you now politely to turn around, otherwise we will have to resort to harsher measures." said the gray one. "I don't think you understand the seriousness of the situation. The girl is your Luna.
Tears came to my eyes again from desperation. If a miracle didn't come soon, we'd be dead. Mason and I. Even if I didn't mention my pain. My chest tightened, my heart clenched and my stomach rebelled. My limbs ached and my feet burned.
"Please let us to your alpha." now said Kaiya. She put on a sad look that would make anyone give in. Just not the two wolves. She shook her heads again. "You go now" said the bay determinedly and pushed me lightly so that I got up. The light may have been an understatement. He nudged me with his muzzle, causing me to slide back a good meter. My fur split in a few places, but I didn't care. All that mattered was Mason. I yelped sadly. Quiet and hoarse. Josh transformed and walked menacingly towards the wolves. He had to defend me, I was a member of his pack.
"Amy? Is that you?" someone asked and my head snapped in a different direction. The miracle had come.
