~Amy~
Liz! I nodded my head frantically. The girl came up to me and put her small arms around my neck. "Elizabeth. Come back." said the Gray Wolf. Liz gave me an apologetic look and went to the wolves. "I think you owe us an explanation." said the brown one. Josh nodded. "But we have to see your alpha first." he said and bent down to carry me again. "We'll take you there, but meanwhile you explain everything to us." negotiated the Gray Wolf. We all agreed immediately.
"Why are you here?" asked the wolf carrying Liz on his back. "Amy and Mason are soul mates. Mason turned away from her, but most likely not entirely voluntarily. Amy has had four short cardiac arrests today. We don't want to give up on her," said Josh and almost all questions were answered immediately. He was really good at answering questions. The wolf just nodded and looked into the distance. I tensed as the path looked familiar.
We knocked on Mason's room and waited for an answer from inside. "We don't want to be disturbed! What don't you understand about that?" Mary cried and I immediately felt bad again. Jonah opened the door anyway. I squeezed my eyes shut in panic. I heard Mason's rapid breathing, which included a low whine. Otherwise it was quiet, which is why I opened my eyes again. Everyone looked at me with big eyes. All except Mason, who growled loudly. He didn't look particularly pleased. Didn't he want me here? Wasn't he just as happy as I was? But Jonah reacted and put me next to Mason, who took me in his arms. I could neither defend myself nor would I have wanted to. Jonah backed up a few steps and let me greet me with Mason. I missed him so much and started crying. He brushed away every tear I had and pulled me tight. I could see glittering eyes on him too. In the corner of my eye, I saw Mary also start sobbing loudly and Peter hug her. Felicitas first stood in a corner and left the room after two minutes. "Amy," Mason breathed over and over, kissing my collarbone where his head was resting. Mason kept sucking in my scent and relaxing more and more. I, too, relaxed and my heart stopped pounding in my chest. Mason also turned into a wolf and began licking my fresh wounds clean. It stopped burning and I felt my skin reconnect to the other side. I gathered my strength and transformed back days ago. Immediately Mason was back to normal and covered me.
"I'll never let you go again," Mason murmured, pulling me even closer. The blanket lay over us and my legs were knotted with Masons. "Amy," someone mumbled in the doorway. A moment later, mugs were heard falling and rapid footsteps. I turned in Mason's grip and could now see who was in the doorway. It was Faye. Under normal circumstances, I would have rushed to her right now, but there were a few problems that prevented me from doing just that.
1. Mason held me so tight I almost thought he was taking his words literally.
2. I wouldn't have been able to run, let alone get up, from my circulation and body.
And 3. Faye was crushed by Jonah. Rather depressed, because she held him just as hard as he held her. He kept muttering the word mate to himself. Happily, I snuggled even closer to Mason and into the blanket. I turned back and smiled at my soul mate. He beamed back just as much.
Mary and Peter had gone downstairs to join Kaiya and Josh. Faye and Jona had also left the room and now there were only two of us.
"I'm so sorry sweetie," he mumbled against my hair. I smiled lightly. "Why did you send me away?" I asked him. Mason tensed up immediately and I stroked his chest soothingly. He hated to talk about it, but it was important to both of us. Mason got very close to my ear and whispered it in my ear. "Felicitas father blackmailed me. I should make Felicitas Luna and not even look at you anymore. He left you and my sister alone for that. I couldn't risk him hurting you, so I thought it was best." he said and gently stroked my hair. He tucked a tangled strand of hair behind my ear and smiled at me. "Is he still blackmailing you?" I asked cautiously and very slowly traced his stomach muscles with my fingers. "No. It's fine now," he murmured against my hair. His breath kept brushing the back of my neck, which was extremely tickling. "I'll never let you go Amy" he breathed against my ear again and then kissed my forehead. I wrapped my arms around his broad torso and didn't even need a blanket in the heat. I closed my eyes and listened to my mate's regular breathing. They calmed me down more than anything. His breath hit my face, giving me goosebumps.
"Are you hungry?" Mason asked me and I opened my eyes again. "Have you got anything to eat?" He smiled against my hair and sat up straight. Due to the lack of food, this turned out to be more difficult for me than for him. "When was the last time you ate something?" he now asked me critically and I looked down at the floor guiltily. He gently lifted my chin and looked into my eyes. "The question is rather when I ate anything at all. I think I only ate muesli last time. And only in the morning. After that I didn't even get up and slept through the day." I murmured and I saw the concern in Mason's eyes. I couldn't stand it any longer and pressed myself against his warm chest. I felt so bad for facing him like that.
"Let's eat now." he said and pulled me onto his lap so he could carry me. I quickly looked down at myself. I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Mason wore only sweatpants.
