~Amy~
His touch calmed me down again and I didn't care that I hadn't showered in a while. He picked me up and carried me out of his bedroom like I weighed nothing. "If I'm too heavy, you have to let me know. I can try to walk myself," I murmured against his chest. However, both he and I knew that I really didn't want that. The only thing that mattered to me was to lay in his arms and never let him go. "The way you look now, you enjoy being carried. And no, you're not too heavy," he assured and ran down the stairs. There was an amused smile on his face, which didn't harmonize so much with the concern in his eyes.
Before I could say anything else, I was already sitting on a chair in the kitchen. Well not directly. I sat on Mason's lap. "Mom?" Mason called and immediately Mary appeared in the hallway to the living room. "Could you maybe make us something to eat right now? Amy hasn't eaten in a while." said Mason. Luckily he didn't mention the time I wasn't eating or anything else about my behavior, although I was sure Kaiya and Josh had already told everything. Mary smiled and nodded. Mason rolled me over on his lap so I could face him. He held me against his chest and it felt like he never wanted to let me go.
But I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I wanted to stay here with him forever. Mason ran his large, rough hands down my back, giving me goosebumps. "So. You and Amy should eat something." Mary suggested, who had already put the food on the table. How long had she been watching us? She had made simple sandwiches. Without moving even remotely from Mason's lap, I grabbed two halves of a bun. I gave one to Mason and the other was for me. We smash the rolls like two half-starving animals, only so that in the end there was nothing between us and I could lean against his crumpled chest again.
"Mason?" I asked against his chest. "Mmhh" he replied and I could feel the vibration in his chest. That made me smile. "I have questions. Lots of questions," I murmured. "Ask. Whatever it is, I'll answer it for you," he said, blowing a kiss behind my ear. I flinched and hugged my mate even closer.
"Are you leaving me again?" I just asked. Mason stiffened beneath me and I leaned back. So he throws me again..I was afraid. "Amy. I will do everything in my power so that we will never be separated again. I promise. I would never leave you voluntarily or send you away" he said and pressed a long kiss on my forehead. Then he rested his forehead on that very spot. Everything tingled inside me and I wanted to kiss him too. The only problem was that I didn't trust myself. Which is why I just asked my next question.
"Have you known Felicitas before?" I asked him and Mason furrowed his eyebrows. He put his free hand, which wasn't holding me, on his forehead. There was a deep crease between his eyebrows. "You probably didn't read her letter, did you?" he asked me and I shook my head. "She told you everything in that letter. Also her suspicion that her father was blackmailing me." Mason said and pulled me even closer because I had slipped two inches. "How did you guys meet?" I repeated my question. "We met and at a club. She got me out of the grieving phase. The one when you were in a coma. I felt so bad and she lifted me up. Of course, she couldn't quite restore it, but I stopped locking myself up, stopped getting drunk and started living again. "
"I don't want to lose you," I murmured, letting a pent-up tear slip out of the corner of my eye. What I said was only half true. The tear also basically came from the fact that Felicitas was the one who could cheer him up again. At least halfway. "Neither will you," Mason said, standing up. I finally slipped on the floor and had to stand on my own two feet. I clung to Mason, hoping he would never let me go. He smirked, but I was completely serious. Felicitas somehow stood in our way and I was sure that it would not end there.
Together we ran into the living room and sat down with Josh, Kaiya, Jona and Peter and Mary. As we entered the room, they quieted and looked at me and Mason curiously. I felt pretty uncomfortable unlike Mason. But he directed me to an empty seat on the couch, where he took me on his lap. Yet again.
Jonah kept stealing a look at me, which Mason didn't seem to notice. Fortunately, otherwise he would probably have already attacked him. "Amy?" a familiar voice called and I turned to her. Everyone else turned to the girl too. "Liz! Hey little mouse!" I called, getting up from Mason's lap. The girl ran towards me, her hair blowing in the breeze. "You're you again!" she called and I pulled her into a long hug. "Did Mason apologize for doing something bad?" she asked suddenly and I flinched briefly. Mason also looked at me in surprise. "Yes he has." I answered curtly and gave her a slight smile. "That's good because I couldn't be mad any longer" she grinned and ran towards Mason. You could see a slight resemblance between the two. However, this was so small that they could rather be cousins. Mason took the little girl on his lap and sat her on one leg. We didn't say a word about the fact that it was her, which is why I could now be with my mate again. Not even her, except for her first question. I sat down between Jona and Josh.
In hindsight, a bad decision. Mason snarled and roughly pushed Lizzy off his lap. Then he stood in front of me and picked me up. The boys were growled at and I was put back on his lap. Luckily everyone was able to hold back quite a bit when it came to the whole mate stuff. Mason rested his face on the back of my neck, making the hair on the back of my neck stand up when his breath touched the back of my neck. Exactly this effect had always struck me as rather suspicious. I had never really understood her.
"What are you thinking about?" Mason asked me, noticing my slight tension from thinking. "Nothing important" I smiled and kissed his cheek. Even if I had to bend quite a bit for it. "That's fine then," he breathed against my neck, which made me wince for a moment. This effect was just too new and I would certainly never get used to it. Josh had a deep line on his face that most likely came from thinking. But right now he seemed very tense.
"Mason. Why did you do that?" he and Jonah asked almost simultaneously. My mate looked up and tried to look at both of them at the same time. "I was blackmailed," he said monotonously, gritting his teeth. Speaking of which, maybe I should clean mine.
