Chapter 32 Fairy
<Mia>
“Kiss it so the pain will fade away.” Ethan said to me.
I followed my husband's words.
"I guess my cheeks are aching too."
I looked at his cheeks, but there was nothing there.
"It's fine," I started to say, but he suddenly kissed me on the lips and smiled as if he had won a jackpot.
"I feel better now," he winked at me sexily, and I felt myself blushing. Damn! He looked so sexy doing that. This man has such a strong appeal, and he can be quite flirtatious.
I glanced at Fairy, and her face was turning red. I noticed her tightly clenched fist resting on the table. She was wearing a white blazer, by the way.
"Sorry, I didn't hear what you said earlier," I tried to remain calm and spoke in a kind tone.I used to get into fights with my classmates, and maybe she wanted to experience what it's like to get a punch from me if she doesn't behave.
Does this woman have feelings for my husband? I swear, I will confront her! She's trying to flirt with Ethan in such an obvious way.
I am a woman, so I know and feel it. She has a thing for my husband. What does she want, and why is she here?
"Hija..."
We looked at Grandfather when he suddenly arrived. He was leaning on his cane.
"Mr. Mclaren!" Fairy said with embarrassment as she stood up to assist the old man.
"Hubby, don't you have work today?" I asked Ethan.
"I do, but I told my secretary to handle everything for me," he said.
I just watched him eat, and he looked so delicious while doing so. His lips were slightly red, and they looked so tempting to bite.
"I'm sorry for intruding. I initiated the visit. I didn't know that Doc Ethan was here," I saw her face turn red when she mentioned my husband's name.
I return my attention to my husband.
"Hasn't your secretary complained yet? It seems like you never go to work, and you make her do all your tasks," I wiped the corner of her lips, surprising her with my action.
"Why are you keeping your distance from me? Come closer," he said with a frown. There was a hint of annoyance in his voice.
I rolled my eyes. She always wants us to be close.
"Ethan, why are you the only one eating? You didn't even invite your guest," the old man interjected.
"I don't have any visitors," my husband muttered beside me.
"Grandpa, please have your meal," I said to him.
He chuckled, even though nothing was funny. "I've already eaten, my dear."
"How is your grandmother? I heard she's in the hospital," Grandfather began the conversation with Fairy.
"Yes, she was rushed to the hospital suddenly, and she's getting weaker. My grandmother's last wish was to see me get married and have my own family," Fairy said sadly.
Nobody cares, girl.
"What a shame that the wedding between me and Doc Ethan didn't push through. I was thinking of forming a partnership with him... I also heard that he has knowledge in medicine?"
Why does she keep mentioning the wedding that should have happened between her and Ethan? What is she trying to say?
"What kind of partnership are you talking about? He's a pathology doctor, and you're in the field of skincare. Besides, he didn't continue with medicine and shifted to become a pathology doctor. He prefers experimenting on animals, flying pigs, rather than treating patients," grandpa said.
Both of them laughed at the old man's comment.
"Um, he's good because we're planning to enter politics. If we had gotten married, he could have helped us with our advocacy," she said hesitantly.
"Oh, that's good. But I have many grandchildren who are still unmarried and even don’t have children. If you want, I can introduce you to my grandson Mark," Grandfather replied.
We listened silently to their conversation. Meanwhile, Ethan had been squeezing my legs the entire time. He was being affectionate again.
"I like Ethan," she quickly blurted out, shocking me with her audacity.
"I mean, we can get along because he's a doctor, and there are many benefits to that. I can also help him if he ever needs assistance. I know a lot of doctors too."
It turns out she knows many doctors. Why doesn't she just ask for their help? She may be beautiful, but it seems she doesn't know how to use her brain.
This woman definitely has something she wants to convey! If she dares to touch my husband, I'll punch her! She should be careful around me because I bite. Just one of my farts could make her faint from the stench!
"Mark was supposed to be a doctor too, but he didn't finish his studies. I also have another grandson, Nathan. He graduated in medicine, but he didn't pursue it and decided to focus on his business," Grandpa said.
"Mark is a nurse at the hospital, right?" Ethan suddenly interjected into their conversation.
"He's a nurse? I thought he was just a loafer," Grandfather replied, laughing, and I couldn't help but laugh too. Their grandfather is mischievous, even though he's nearing his time to meet the Lord.
"Hello," Fairy greeted me.
I looked at her, and she gave me a slight smile. In fairness, she looks friendly, and she's actually nice, but I don't like her. It's like she has some hidden flirtatiousness in her body. She doesn't know how to respect boundaries.
I was in the living room when she suddenly approached me.
Ethan left with his uncles; they had somewhere to go. He didn't want to leave me alone because he was worried something might happen again.
If his uncles didn't pull him away, he wouldn't have left. He wanted to take me with him, but it would have been awkward since they were all boys.
"Doc Ethan seems to love you so much," she started, sitting in front of me.
I stopped scrolling through my biased social media feed and looked at her.
"How is he as a husband?"
Huh? What the hell? Why is she asking about this?
"He is sweet and clingy. He puts in effort and... ummm, he's serious about life," I chuckled as I remembered the jokes I made about him being serious. "And also... what else? He always smells so good! Like a baby!" I blurted out with widened eyes, not realizing that I had a wide smile on my face as I said those words.
Amoy baby talaga si Ethan!
"Ah, I see... it's a surprise that they chose a woman for him who isn't a doctor," she said.
What does she mean?
"Why, does he have to marry a doctor?" I retorted, being snarky.
"No! No! I didn't mean it that way. I'm sorry, I was trying to say that they like doctors because everyone in the family is a doctor. Even the spouses of his uncles and aunts are doctors," she tried to justify herself to me.
She's really scared because I bite.
Even if I get rabies from biting her, Ethan's family has a hospital.
"I was just a little surprised that they didn't choose a doctor for him," she added.
My anger towards her was reaching its peak, she's been wanting to say something for a while now. I tightly clenched my fist.
"Do you have feelings for my husband?!" I angrily questioned her. I looked at her with disdain.
"Uhm, n-nothing!" she stuttered and avoided eye contact.
I can be quite the spoiled brat.
I looked around to see if there were any people nearby, but there was no one. They were all busy with their own lives, and some had already gone home.
"You! You've been getting close to my husband, and if you take another step closer, I'll hit you!" I showed her my clenched fist. "I bite too!" I stared at her with wide eyes, and she seemed genuinely scared of me.
"I just w-want to talk t-to him about his p-profession..." I could see how terrified she was, knowing that I wasn't afraid to do something terrible. If she crossed me, I would make sure even dermatologists couldn't fix her. I would do it every day if I had to.
"But he doesn't want to talk to you!" I snapped at her.
"B-but I was supposed to be his wife, not you!"
We're already married! What doesn't she understand about that?! And she keeps mentioning that she should be the one he married.
"What's your problem, huh?! My husband doesn't even like you! He's not attracted to you because you're just a plastic surgery-enhanced woman!" I retorted, clenching my fists tightly.
"You may be a doctor, but you have no dignity. It seems like you want to be his mistress!" I accused her.
"N-no, I just want to be friends with him," she stammered in fear.
Friends my ass!
"Why don't you admit that you have feelings for him!" I shouted.
"It's just an attraction."
Her words made me even angrier. So, she does have a crush on Ethan. No wonder she's been trying to get his attention!
"You," I pointed at her, "get out of here if you don't want me to do something to you! You see, I'll smash your face if you dare to provoke me!" I threatened, still pointing at her.
"Don't aspire to be a mistress, especially when you're beautiful," she said, trying to sound sincere.
"What's happening here?"
I paused when grandpa spoke, accompanied by a nurse taking care of him.
"Mia, why are you shouting at Doctor Fairy?" the old man asked me.
"I was trying to be f-friends with her, but she suddenly turned violent," the plastic woman said, feigning tears.
Nobody informed me that she's an actress! What a talented liar!
"She's accusing me of trying to steal her husband. She's been trying to get his attention even though he's been ignoring her!" I yelled at her, boiling with anger.
"Mia! Don't shout at her!" Grandpa scolded me, furious.
The woman cried even more.
"You don't have any rights to shout at her. She's our guest, and you should treat her with respect! I didn't know that you have such behavior!" Grandpa scolded me.
My world stopped.
What? What does this old man mean? I'm the one who got involved here, huh.
"I didn't want that kind of attitude for my grandson, Mia!" He added.
I just lowered my head and started crying.
But Fairy started it first.
Where are you, Ethan? I have no one on my side here.
"She's the one who started it. Who wouldn't be upset if someone's trying to make a move on my husband?" I reasoned.
"I was just asking politely. I answered her questions, and then she suddenly shouted at me," the woman said, crying.
I feel like ripping her apart.
Grandpa looked at me, his gaze filled with anger. "Mia, you disappointed me! I didn't know that this is how your parents raised you!"
What? Why are my parents being dragged into this?
"Don't involve my parents in this," I threatened him, my hands trembling as I clenched my fists.
"Fairy is my visitor, so treat her with respect! And I heard that you shouted at her!" Grandpa yelled at me.
"What's happening here?"
A baritone voice.
Why did you arrive just now? I've been bullied by your grandfather since earlier.
"Wife?" Ethan called out to me.
He approached me and wrapped his arm around my waist. "What happened?" He asked in a deep voice.
That's when I started crying.
"What the fuck?!" Ethan asked, clearly irritated.
He turned to his grandfather, "Grandpa? What's happening here? Why is my wife crying?" Ethan's question sounded irritated, but there was also concern in his voice.
"I didn't know that your wife had such a hidden bad attitude. Maybe I made a mistake in choosing a wife for you," Grandpa said, disappointed.
"I don't need your opinion about having a good wife. I'm asking why my wife is crying," Ethan said firmly.
