Chapter 46 Resort
<Mia>
Beside me, Ethan held my hand, occasionally caressing it with his finger.
"Go out. And also, what you feel and think is normal. They are healthy results of what happened. They are normal feelings and emotions," the doctor smiled at me.
We only had a brief conversation, and then Ethan and I left.
"Are you okay?" He looked at me for a moment before returning his gaze to the front.
He held my hand and kissed it from time to time. He hadn't let go of my hand since earlier.
I had been quiet for a while, lost in my thoughts, ever since we left the office of that woman doctor.
"I feel like that woman has a crush on you," I suddenly said out of nowhere.
He didn't respond and kissed my hand again.
"What relation do you have with her?" I asked him again. I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying as I was thinking about whether I had taken a shower and if I might need to use the restroom later.
"She's my friend. A good friend of mine," he lazily replied.
I kept staring at him.
"Friends with benefits?" I asked him sarcastically, and I couldn't hide the bitterness in my tone.
He furrowed his brow but still kept his eyes on the road.
"What do you mean? We're just friends... since college? She's a friend of my friend from my college days," he furrowed his brow, trying to remember how they became friends.
"Oh, just friends, huh? Why don't you just marry her then?" I asked with sarcasm, and I couldn't hide the bitterness in my voice.
He glanced at me again.
He licked his lower lip, "because she's not you," he replied abruptly.
I was taken aback by his response, but I quickly regained my composure.
"But she's kinder to me, and she's tall. She looks expensive too, and you two look good together. You're both doctors," I said, bitter in my words.
"Are you giving me away to her?" he asked angrily.
I fell silent. Was I giving him away? But I didn't want him to be with someone else because he was too expensive, smart, handsome, and tall. He's perfect to be displayed even without a lot of money. Among all the doctors, he's the one without money.
"Not really," I weakly replied.
"Not really?" he questioned again.
"She's beautiful," I repeated.
"I don't know..." he replied disinterestedly.
"But you two look good together, admit it, you had a crush on her."
He looked at me for a moment.
"Tsk! Stop with your tricks, wife," he said with annoyance. "You'll pick a fight with me if I answer your questions, and the conversation will drag on," he said irritatedly. He looked cute when he was annoyed.
I just laughed and didn't say anything more.
"White Suns?" I asked in surprise when I saw the name of the resort.
"Yeah, this is our resort," he said while carrying our luggage. We were walking inside the resort.
"Our resort? Come on, you don't have the money to have a resort."
I followed him and looked around while walking. There were so many plants, pine trees, and all.
It was beautiful.
"This is the three hectares of land we received, remember? I decided to turn it into a resort."
I nodded even though he wasn't looking at me. I remembered. Why didn't I know he was building something like this?
"Ethereum Street," I read from the sign hanging here.
"You know, the name is ugly. You should have named it 'Climax Street'," I suggested to him.
I ran a bit away from him.
"I'm an expert at coming up with names. It should have been named 'Drink Water Beach' for our resort," I complained.
He entered a cute villa, and upon entering, it was clean and bohemian-themed, with indoor plants placed around.
"If I named it that way, we might not get any customers," he retorted as I followed him into one of the rooms.
The room was spacious with a large bed, and it had a bohemian vibe. The surroundings were bright, and sunlight streamed in every morning. I also noticed a fish pond outside the window. I opened another door of the room, and there was the bathroom! It didn't have a bathtub, but it was just the right size. The bohemian color scheme and the plants near the shower made the bathroom look even more appealing.
"It feels like such a nice place to live in," I commented as I stepped out of the bathroom. He set our luggage aside, and someone helped us carry them in.
"Let's go outside, and I'll give you a tour," he said, approaching me and putting his arm around my waist.
"Sure, sure!" I replied, lively and excited about the tour.
"Let me see if you have taste! Your preferences are so old-fashioned!"
I made a peace sign, teasing him with my response.
He gave me a stern look. The entire place felt refreshing with all the plants and the numerous fish ponds.
The area was spacious.
"White Man Street," I read from a sign. He really loves the color white, so I wasn't surprised by the names he came up with. This man's way of thinking is weird.
"You know what, you should have named it 'Booti Booti Street'," I suggested.
"I don't like it, it sounds eww."
"What do you mean eww? Your names are even more eww!" I complained.
"I still have lots of plans here. I'm thinking of putting up a restaurant and some other shops, like a small clothing store."
I rolled my eyes.
"I'll think of the names," I offered, raising one hand.
"Sure, but make sure they sound nice in the ear," he warned, tightening his grip on my hand.
"Let's open a milk tea shop since it's trending. How about naming it 'Bobo Ka Tea'?" I said loudly and giggled.
"Wife, think bitter!" he complained.
I thought about the current trends, looking around.
"Fruitful Life," I read from a sign. I saw many vegetables and fruits planted in the area.
"How about... 'Maritea,' with a tagline that says 'Mare, spill the tea'?" I burst into laughter after saying it.
There were so many "Marites" around, you should be careful who you spill the tea to because it might stain.
Ethan seemed annoyed with me.
"I'm right to think of names by myself."
"How about this one... I'm serious now," I put on a serious expression to let him know I was serious, "son of a bitch!" I energetically said, but he didn't find it funny.
I burst out laughing as he walked away.
"Hubby!" I shouted after him, "fine, you think of the name for the milk tea shop we'll put up here! After all, you're 'Wittea!'" I shouted as he walked further away.
I chased after him and hugged his arm happily.
"The resorts you built are so huge. Why didn't you tell me, huh? Huh?!"
"Maybe you'll do some feng shui again and bring all sorts of witches here."
I punched his arm when he said that. This guy is such a prankster.
"Hubby, why are the names of your villas all girl names?"
He held my hand again.
"That's the name of our future children."
"Oh no! I don't want Aubrey and Ella! I prefer names like Bitak and Butete," I complained. Aubrey sounds like our child will end up being promiscuous. As for Ella, she might be stupid, with a history of being a gossip. Oh well.
"All nonsense," he said, pulling me closer.
"Oh, I remembered!" I suddenly thought, "the villa names should be Marites, Marisol, Mariposa, Mosang, and Marietta," I said with a smile.
"Mia would be more suitable. I think it sounds better," he teased me, trying to irritate me, but his face showed no reaction. He's so plain!
He pinched my left cheek and pulled me to the left side.
"Wow, there's a tree house!" I exclaimed when I saw it, with several small lights hanging on the tree.
"That place is called Mianna," he said suddenly.
Mianna? Sounds similar to my name. It could also be "Mama Mia!"
I really liked this place; it was relaxing and the staff seemed kind and friendly. I saw a place where you can release your anger and throw plates against the wall and scream!
He turned it into a farm resort. There was still plenty of space, and he had future plans for the land he hadn't used yet.
The bohemian vibes made me feel relaxed and at ease. The plants calmed me and removed my anxieties. I even picked some grapes, though it was not allowed. Ethan wasn't looking at me; if he caught me, he'd scold me. He's annoyed with my antics because I'm teasing him with the names I suggest. He's always so serious in his life, and it's easy to get on his nerves.
"Good afternoon, Dr. Ethan," I glanced at the fair-skinned woman who approached my husband. I was taking pictures at a little distance.
Her face was so red, as if she had put on all the blush on the planet.
"Here's the merienda," she said, looking embarrassed, holding a rattan tray. She bit her lower lip.
"Put that here," Ethan replied coldly, his attention still on his iPod.
"Uhmm, doc, how long will you be here? Would you like some tofu soup?"
She was quite shy.
"No, get out," Ethan dismissed her while still looking at his iPod screen.
"Uhmm, doc, are you available tonight? I have something to give you and tell you," she said nervously.
Ethan didn't respond to her.
I moved closer to them, "what are you giving my husband? Just give it to me instead," I smiled fakely at her.
"Uh, I-I have nothing, madam."
"What do you mean nothing?! You said you have something for him?!"
I felt my anger rising.
"You must have misheard."
I pretended to be deaf to this woman.
"What did you say?! Are you trying to say I'm deaf?!"
I felt like starting a fight.
"Uh, n-no, madam... I have to leave, I have something to do," she said nervously and hurriedly walked away.
I laughed as she stumbled. She shouldn't have worn heels; it didn't suit her. Boots would look better on her. She looked like Dora with her bangs.
I laughed, and she heard it. She hurriedly left, feeling embarrassed.
"What's so funny?" Ethan asked with a furrowed brow.
I just laughed even harder in response.
Turns out, it's quite funny here in our resort.
He approached me and hugged me from behind.
"It would be nice to have a lake here," I suddenly said to him.
I was thinking of having a lake instead of a swimming pool. The swimming pool here is for the rich; it has a glass fence. Is that what it's called? Anyway, you know what I mean.
"I'll let you do whatever you want with this resort. But, let me be in charge of the names," he pleaded with me.
"Hey, you're too much. It's like you're saying that the names I come up with are ugly."
"They're odd and kinda weird," he honestly replied, so I playfully hit his arm even though I was facing away from him. I'm BDO, I find ways.
He groaned, "you really like hitting me." He complained with a pout, acting like he's being oppressed.
"Anyway, this resort is under your name."
