Chapter 56
<Third Person>
“What is this?! What am I, your maid?!” Layla keeps on nagging while carrying the bags in her hands. They had been in a grocery store with Nate.
“You want Jase. Keep on following my orders,” Nate said and entered the house while playing with the car’s keys and whistle.
Layla had been nagging since they were in the supermarket.
Nate called Layla, woke her up early in the morning, and asked her to go to the supermarket with Nate.
Layla couldn't do anything because he had threatened her with his help with Jase.
“If you don’t help me, I will kill you!” She nags again and walks into the kitchen.
“Excited? We will have a party and guess? Jase is there, and I come up with an idea.” Nate followed her into the kitchen and drank water.
Layla put down the bag she was carrying; he didn’t help her with anything. There are a lot of bags in the trunk. He let her have those heavy things; she must cry.
“What? What is it?” She walks to him.
“Of course, I won’t tell it yet to you.”
Nate plaster a playful smile on his face.
“Follow my orders, and I will tell you about it.”
“If you’re making fun of me, I will kill you,” I threaten him.
“Woah! I feel scared,” Nate acted like he was scared to my threaten.
“Do you have any plans on helping me, or you’re just making fun of me!?” I prank him.
Nate leaned on the wall and stared at me in amusement.
“Jase hates women who don’t know how to wait. Working on it takes time. Put some effort and stop nagging. Stop complaining and follow my orders; you’re childish.”
He used the name Jase again.
“Do you think I didn’t know that you don’t have any plans to help me!?” I snorted.
I know Nate won’t help me, but at the same time, I'm hoping he will help me. That’s why I'm following his orders; he demands so much.
“If you didn’t help me, I’d make you bald,” Layla threatened him.
Nate turned his back on me, and he walked.
“Bring the grocery to my kitchen and arrange them. After it, clean my house and cook dinner,” he said before disappearing.
I look at the bags on the floor of his house.
That man didn't help me carry these bags; he’s no gentleman.
Maybe I can ask for help from my driver? Nate didn't tell me I could ask for help regarding this matter.
I grin and get my iPhone 28 pro max.
My body is aching.
“Don’t try to ask for help! If you ask help, I wong help you to Jase.”
I look at Nate, that is walking in my direction. He is holding strawberry milk in his right hand.
“Don't you think I don’t know you? Please do all my commands without asking for help from the others.
He walked onto the sofa while talking.
He looks good in his black long-sleeve.
“What?!” I yelled and hid my phone.
He is unbelievable.
“You’re not helping, and these bags are heavy!” Layla complain.
He didn’t answer and sipped on his strawberry milk.
“Hay, I guess Musa is suitable for Jase. She’s kind and hard-working.”
She stares at Nate.
Layla didn’t answer and walked out.
Nate laughs and enjoys his strawberry milk.

“Don’t you have work?” Nate asked Layla and raised his eyebrow.
“You’re always with me, and you never leave my side. Did I think you liked Jase? Have you changed my mind?”
It’s been two weeks since they have been together.
Layla and Nate are in Jase’s company.
Layla is always on Nate’s side, and he is following him. She goes with Nate when she finds he is in Jase’s company.
“For your information! You’re always commanding me! You’re demanding!” Layla complains a hundred times.
Nate stops walking and faces her.
“Did I tell you to follow me here? I ask you to cook my breakfast, but you order food. Tsk!”
Layla doesn’t know anyone in the kitchen, so she thinks of ordering outside; she didn’t know that Nate would notice that she didn’t cook the food.
“At least, I will drive you to your company. I served your food and did your secretary's work!” Layla reason.
Nate put his hands on his waist.
“Really? If I’m not mistaken, you ran when I asked you to fix my schedule.”
The two are arguing in the middle of the company hallway, and the employees stare and gossip about them.
“How can I help you if you’re not following my orders,” Nate said while shaking his head.
“How can I follow your orders if you’re not helping me,” Layla copied him and fought.
“Hays! Layla, you’re beautiful, and why you can’t understand the context?” Nate sounds stressed.
“You come to me, and I said I’ll help you if you follow my orders,” he added.
“But you’re not helping me!”
“You’re a beautiful but stupid woman. I won’t guess why Jase doesn’t like you. You said I wouldn’t help you, so stop following me. Shoo!”
Nate signal Layla to go out and leave.
Layla looks pissed.
“Okay! Okay, I give up!” She said like a kid who got scolded.
“But, how can I get at ease if you’re not telling me your plans?!” Layla can’t help to insist.
Nate looked stressed and combed his hair.
“I told you to wait for the event. I’ll help you with your plan.”
“What?! I thought you already had plans?!” Layla raises her voice.
“I hope Ma’am Musa will be this company's business partner so our salary will rise,”
Layla stops and looks at the two female employees passing by them. She heard that name again.
“I believe to sir Jase, ma’am Musa will be his partner, and they look good!”
Layla’s ear widened.
“Hey, Ma’am, Musa is already our business partner. And his secretary said she has a business and is an independent woman. His brother was once a business board member in this company.”
Someone joins the two employees.
Nate looks at Layla to see her reaction.
Layla held Nate’s hands and whispered in his ear.
“Did you hear that?” She asked.
“What?” Nate acted like he didn’t hear anything.
“Jase is helping with that Musa, and he is courting her! I heard in the three employees!” Layla whispered.
“Let us look at where you plan to make your warehouse.”
Layla looks at that voice, and she is right. Jase is here with that woman.
“Is that fine with you? We just finished signing the contract, and you have a meeting, right?”
Layla pulled Nate to hide.
Jase was about to reply when Layla showed herself.
“Jase!”
Jase looks at her.
“Hi,” Musa greeted Layla.
Layla gave Musa a fake smile.
Jase raised his eyebrows at Nate when he saw Nate with her.
“What are you doing here?” Jase asked him without any facial expression, and it was severe.
Why is Nate with Layla? So, this is the reason why Nate stop pestering him these past few weeks.
“Hey, bro! Hi Musa,” Nate greeted them two.
“I was about to go to your office and glad I saw you. I was about to ask about our European trip,” Nate said.
Jase raises his eyebrow.
“Why see me? You can text me or call me,” Jase sounds suspicious.
“Why? Are you jealous that I’m with Layla?” Nate asked with a playful smile plaster on his lips.
“Do you want to come with us? Jase and I will visit my warehouse; he will help me, and we will have lunch together,” Musa invited Layla.
It’s so rare and odd to hear that Jase offers Musa to have lunch and be with a woman; that’s why Nate is teasing Jase that he is gay because Jase doesn’t get along with a woman.
Layla wants to pull Musa’s hair to seduce Jase.
Jase never invites Layla to eat outside; she always initiates.
Layla clenched her fist and managed to give Musa a fake smile.
“Sure, we will go with them. Right, babe?” Nate asked Layla as he put his arm on her shoulder.
Musa looked confused; she thought that Layla was engaged.
Why did Nate call her babe?
Jase clenched his jaw.
“Let’s go,” Jase said coldly.
Layla pushed Nate and ran into Jase.
“Hubby, wait for me!”

<Shielyn>
I don’t know what to think anymore.
It’s been a week since I have been ignoring Ken.
I feel dirty talking to him.
Ken tried to talk to me, but I shut him down. And now, he has given up on pursuing me to speak.
It’s been two days since he is not going home, and I feel in pain.
Ken gave up on me.
“Hays, stop crying,” Vane said, and I looked at her.
“Wipe your tears. Your son might see you crying,”
I did what Vane said.
I am glad she never left my side and was always there to support me.
“What are your plans now? I don’t want to see you crying. You want to divorce your husband because I feel he will cheat on you and hurt you. But years have passed, and he never cheats on you. I don’t like your husband for you. But seeing you crying and in pain also pains me.”
It’s been a week since I have been crying straight.
“Talk to him and talk about the divorce paper. You’d hurt yourself more if you didn’t talk to him about it,”
I wipe my tears.
I am in Vane’s shop, and I have been disturbing her for weeks; she’s not complaining.
“I will. But not now. I am not yet ready to talk to my husband. Ken is not going home for two days.”
I am not used to it. I already miss my husband.
I miss his hugs and kisses every night before he goes to work.
“I’m still in the process of accepting everything,” I added.
Vane put the glass of water on the table and held my hand.
“I’m here, and I’ll find you a new husband. Someone out there still except you despite what happened. And besides, both of you are not aware of your relationships.”
Vane gently wipes my tears.
“Stop crying,” she softly said.
“I love him,” I said to my friend while looking at her.
Vane didn’t talk and continued to wipe my tears.
“Mommy!”
I immediately wiped my tears when I heard that little voice.
“Your son is here. Don’t show him that you’re crying,” Vane advised and helped me fix myself.
