Chapter 51: An Shocking Announcement
The cracking sound of bullets was roaring throughout the church along with the reloading of the guns. I pulled out my gun, tucked in my belt, and took shelter behind the wall as soon as I composed myself. The half of the platform I was standing on was destroyed. Good, it means I am their target, not the rest of my family.
‘James’s men allowed them through the gates.’ Terance’s voice boomed in my air. I peeped out. Father and Marc were already holding machine guns hidden behind their chairs. They were in form and took down a few advancing men simultaneously. Nicole was protecting Alex from a distance. She was hidden behind the counter.
I aimed at a man dashing towards them from a corner. A rain of bullets was showering all over. They wiped out the dripping blood from my temples and came out of shelter, getting better access to kill them.
“Capo, here.” A machine gun came flying over me. I caught it jumping over the table and ducked down to load it.
BAMMM
BAMMMMMMM
Simultaneous blast took place near the entrance, and everything was covered in white smoke. It halted their speed and stopped them at the entrance itself. I fired bullets as soon as I got a glimpse of men trying to get away from the smoke. They were crashing over the ground as the leaves fell from trees. It was so much fun, it’s been a long time since I had target practice. It was my Snowflake’s fault. She kept me busy with her.
My plan was perfect. I already hid a few weapons and grenades under the chairs to get easy access. Heavy firing from father, Marc and Nicole took control over the situation inside the church.
‘How is it outside?’ I pushed the button of the earpiece while taking a short, unwanted break.
‘Salvatore is here Capo. He was about to enter the church, but a smoke grenade stopped him. He is injured.’ A deadly smile crept over my lips upon hearing his arrival. Finally, he decided to move face to face, better for me.
‘Should I? Capo?’ Terance was too eager to finish that injured brat.
‘It’s my prayer, Terance. I will get you better. Leave this one for me.’ I heard his disappointed huff. He must hide behind the smoke.
‘Someone dragging him towards his car. AHHHhhhhh’ Before he could finish his sentence, the connection broke. Reloading the machine gun, I stepped out, heading towards the entrance. I needed to get him alive. He walked himself up to her. I can’t waste this chance, but a flash of white ran behind me.
I turned to see James holding his sister’s hand and was ready to sneak away from backstage. A bullet slashed his leg, he crashed on the ground screaming in pain as I fired. That bitch tried to take a pistol from his hand, but I aimed the gun, pushing it far from her.
James glared, pouring the stored venom inside him, struggling to get up. A sob took my attention. Tears were rolling down her cheeks. Her gaze was fixed on something. The half dead body of Ronald hanging over the table upside down. A bullet intercepted exactly in the middle of his forehead.
James froze, his attempts to get up stopped. He was gazing at Ronald’s dead body with a pale face. The sudden calmness bothered me. I turned around, getting ready to drill a hole in a few heads, but found nothing to aim at.
The smoke was cleared, and the entrance was empty beside my soldiers. No one was there to have some target practice with. Marc was flashing his teeth, resting his machine gun over his shoulder with pride. Father rolled his eyes at him and threw his gun at the men standing behind him.
My roaming gaze landed on Alex. She was frowning at her damaged lace of dress sitting over the chair while Nicole was adjusting her sandal. Blood rushed through my veins at the thought of letting Salvatore run away. These bastards distracted me, and he found a chance to run away.
I pointed a gun at him and drained bullets through his entire lower body, yet his throat touring screen didn’t calm me down. His sister ran towards him and took his head in her lap, her white dress drenched in his blood dying it red half way.
“Get the girl.” Father’s angry tone bombed in church, and within a second she was dragged away. My men threw her at the feet of father, who was glaring at her with his red eyes.
“Leave my sister, I did it.” James groaned, holding his bleeding legs. He lay down on the floor, unable to sit straight.
BAMMM
She crashed down motionless on the aisle she walked down a few minutes ago. Father casually moved away, as nothing happened, flashing a jubilant smile at the guard who shot her. I signed, he had given too much freedom to men.
“What about him, Capo?” Cory stepped toward the shocked James. He was frozen and staring at his sister’s dead body. He shot his stomach when I rolled my eyes at him. A guard took a gun from my hand. As I turned to the entrance to leave, she would wake up soon, and I wanted to be with her.
“Your wedding hasn’t finished yet, Son.” I was shocked to hear my father’s words. Everyone was staring at him with the same expressions.
“She is dead. Let’s go, Alex.”
“So?” His unbothered reason confused me. He sat down in the chair, crossing his legs over one another, and a guard handed him a wine glass.
“It’s time to take over, Son. I am bored with guns now.” He sipped wine, giving it an appreciating look.
“Father, can you speak a bit more clearly?” Marc walked further with an irritated look.
“I mean, he needs to complete his blood promise.” My insides shook. He knew about Elena being Aria, and here I thought, except him everyone knows about it, but in reality he knew it too.
“You knew?” I walked towards him. He took another sip while nodding his head.
“Actually, I was the one who sent you there. I found out about her before you.” He accepted with an indifferent tone.
“Your bride will be here soon.” A dead silence lingered longer at his words. Has he called my Snowflake here? He looked damn serious about completing the blood contract he drew with her father. I am eager to marry her and I knew she would be too, but we didn’t discuss it before.
“I do not agree. Aria will be a direct target if I marry her.” I walked closer and took the damn wineglass from him, breaking it over the floor with my rising anger.
“I know, but my promise is more important than your stupid excuse, and you can’t tale over unless you are married.” I clenched my teeth, trying my best to suppress my anger. How her security will be the stupid excuse? She is everything I have left. She is the last piece of sanity I have left to cherish.
Before I could say anything, a door of the church opened and my Snowflake was standing clutching her dress in her tight fist. Blood was draining from her pretty face and was taking heavy breaths, gazing at everything with a horrified face.
